I was very sceptical about this hotel after reading the reviews, but overall we had a good stay. We arrived very late, tired and hungry, and reception were extremely helpful, even arranging a late dinner of bread, meats and cheeses. Our room was spotless, well maintained, with working air conditioning, comfortable beds and a secure balcony door. The hotel was kept very clean throughout our stay, and we often saw staff carrying out maintenance such as repainting doors. There were plenty of pool areas, including lively entertainment pools and quieter spaces to relax, and the daytime bar staff were friendly with good drinks. Reception were always helpful, and the food had plenty of choice—I didn’t experience any illness despite concerns from previous reviews. Housekeeping cleaned our room thoroughly every day. The beach was absolutely beautiful, with very clean, soft sand and hardly any stones. There are quite a few steep steps to reach it and the lower pool has a fantastic view overlooking the beach. I would recommend hiring a car or asking reception to arrange taxis, as the hotel is quite secluded. We visited Oasis Wildlife and found it very easy to book, with transport arranged without any issues. The only negatives were the rude evening bar staff, which meant we avoided that bar, and unfortunately €150 went missing during our stay. Because of this, I recommend keeping cash on you or in a secure place, although none of our other valuables, including expensive makeup and toiletries, were touched.

2 stars max,
efinitely not 4 stars hotel
I'll start with the positives, which unfortunately outnumbered the negatives.
The food, although monotonous, was tasty.
The hotel is located on a beautiful beach, and the view from the pool area is wonderful.
The service was friendly, except for one barman, who either has a personality disorder or tries too hard to be funny. Unfortunately, he crosses the line into cheerfulness and is annoying, loud, and gives the impression of being mentally ill.
Cons:
1.No signs on the door to request no cleaning and privacy. The staff knocks daily and then enters the room. I believe it is not staff fault, this should be changed by owner. Once, I managed to cover myself with a towel after getting out of the shower, and another time, the cleaning lady stumbled upon my sleeping husband. It's unacceptable that you have no privacy at all, and the owner should invest in door hangers as soon as possible...
2. Cockroaches are everywhere, and it's worst in the evenings, when a swarm of cockroaches waits outside the room until you open the door...
3. The decor is very old and hasn't been changed in years, and it wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that the pillows need replacing, there's no duvet, no power outlet by the bed, and only one for the entire room. Very uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, I don't recommend it, even as a budget option, because the lack of privacy and the number of cockroaches in the property are terrifying. It's worth considering additional staff to sweep the cockroaches from the hallway in the evenings.
4. The drinks were made from the cheapest alcohol and juices, the worst I've ever had in my life. Only the mojito was acceptable.
5. The coffee machine was broken at times during meals, which caused long lines.
6. The jacuzzi didn't work, and there was no heated pool. The information about the jacuzzi not working appears in the comments every few months. I don't believe the hotel's response, saying we were just unlucky and they were waiting for repairs. They either don't repair it or deliberately don't use it to avoid costs.
7. The pool water is dirty; I never once saw anyone clean it. The toilets by the pool are constantly dirty and dilapidated. It feels like they're understaffed and can't keep up.
8. The gym equipment makes you fear you might hurt yourself... old and rusty.
It is definitely not 4 star hotel.

A perfect family holiday ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had a wonderful stay at the SBH Paraíso Playa. The location is one of its biggest strengths: just steps from Esquinzo beach, which is wide, golden and has a beautiful sea — ideal for those travelling with children. The walks along the coast are stunning at any time of day.
The dining really won us over: a varied and generous buffet, with both international and local options and great attention to quality. There was always plenty of choice, even for the little ones.
Full marks to the kids’ facilities: spaces designed with children in mind, entertainment and services that let us truly relax knowing they were looked after and happy. For families, it’s a huge added value.
Well-kept property, friendly and helpful staff. We would come back without hesitation. Highly recommended for families looking to relax and enjoy a beautiful beach.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at SBH Club Paraiso Playa. Everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel was spotless, our room was spacious and we were delighted to have a beautiful sea view. The food was absolutely delicious, with a great variety every day, and the drinks were excellent.
The staff were always friendly, welcoming and hardworking. The location is stunning, with breathtaking ocean views and a beautiful beach just a short walk away. We especially loved our morning and evening walks along the beach.
This was one of the best holidays we have ever had. We felt relaxed from the moment we arrived until the day we left. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable holiday in Fuerteventura. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so special!

We came to this hotel as a large family group with babies and toddlers. Our first impression was positive, as the reception staff seemed welcoming. Unfortunately, everything after that was extremely disappointing.
Although check-in was after 2:00 p.m., we were left waiting for hours because no rooms were ready. After a long journey with young children, this was very frustrating. We understood that delays can happen, so we remained patient and polite.
When we were finally given our rooms, one couple discovered that neither the balcony door nor the main entrance door could be locked properly. We returned to reception and politely explained that we needed a secure room. We were told there were no other rooms available and that an engineer would come to fix the problem.
We had already paid for an additional room for a family member who was no longer coming, so we asked if we could use that room instead. Despite it being fully paid for, we were told it was not available.
After waiting more than another hour, we were given the same rooms back. The doors still did not lock properly, some doors would not even open correctly, the rooms were dirty, the bedding was unclean, and basic toiletries such as shampoo and even hand soap were missing.
When we asked reception how long the repairs would take, we were simply told, “When the engineer comes.” We politely asked if they had any estimate, but received no helpful information.
We understand that many of these issues may not have been the reception staff’s fault. However, after reading previous reviews mentioning theft, we were very concerned about leaving our belongings in rooms that could not be secured.
We repeatedly reported that another room also had a door that would not lock, but nothing was done. It was only after we returned to reception to report that valuables had been stolen from our rooms—including perfumes, gold jewellery, cash, brand-new clothing, and electronics—that the hotel suddenly found alternative rooms for us.
It is very disappointing that it took such a serious incident before any action was taken. Our experience left us feeling unsafe, ignored, and extremely let down. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a secure and well-managed place to stay.
