I had a great experience at R2 Bahía Playa Design Hotel & Spa! The hotel was clean, modern, and perfect for relaxing. The food was excellent — plenty of choice and great quality every day. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the manager Pablo was especially helpful throughout my stay. The spa and gym were spotless and very well maintained. I also loved the evening entertainment — a disco and bar open until midnight made each night fun and lively.
Another great thing — it’s not windy here because the hotel is surrounded by mountains, which makes it even more enjoyable to relax by the pool.
Overall, a wonderful stay!

I am giving my stay 5 stars overall, however, it needs to be done with a big BUT for the start. If you get one of the rooms directly neighboring the reception (I believe it’s around the 201-207 range), make sure you get your room changed. For the first three nights, we stayed in 202 and could barely use the room when the hotel club was open as it was under it. It fortunately closed at midnight, but then people would pass around the room from 6am, so we just didn’t get good sleep - honestly, these rooms should not exist and there should be other facilities in that place. The hotel was full, though, so we could only get it changed after 3 nights (and the first change was to a room where AC didn’t work, so we had to change again, but this was solved quickly). In here, I’d like to highlight the work of Nuria and Naomi, who finally helped us get a good room and made the second part of our stay much more enjoyable! Overall, I’d recommend you choose a sea view room over a junior suite as we did.
With that out of the way, pretty much everything else was great. The room besides the initial noise issue was spacious and meticulously cleaned by Ramona, absolutely no complaints on that side (though again - I believe there is more light in the sea view rooms and would choose it next time).
The food surprised me - of course, it’s an all inclusive buffet, so you can’t expect fine dining, but compared to other all inclusive experiences, I did see focus on quality over quantity, where perhaps the selection was not as huge, but it was sufficient and there were always varied choices and different themes every day (and they actually had original meals, not just the same with different spices as other hotels do). Only strange choice for me was the afternoon snack - there were only burgers, hot dogs and toasted sandwiches, where I feel like a selection of bread and cold cuts would be more suitable and wouldn’t require a chef to constantly prepare more food.
In terms of drinks, the selection is very standard. A few sodas, acceptable beer and wine, the cocktails are a low point, though, as they are made automatically by a machine and feel like they are 90% sugar, so if you’re big on cocktails, this may be an issue for you.
The overall facilities are also good, I liked the gym and there’s enough loungers that we didn’t struggle to find space. There are no loungers on the beach, but that seems to be standard for Fuerteventura.
One very pleasant surprise for us was the animation program - there is something happening all day and we tried a variety of activities, from yoga, pilates and aqua gym through archery and bingo to the evening performances or quiz in the club. Shout out to Weronika and Tim for excellent facilitation and keeping us busy all vacation!
When it comes to the surroundings, there truly isn’t much, but there’s a good supermarket and a few souvenir stores, as well as a restaurant or two if you want to switch things up. The promenade at the beach is kept clean and excellent for a little morning jog. We also found it easy to take a small hike to La Lajita nearby and the views were stunning, so you can still explore around. I think the location is excellent if your expectation is right, which is for more of a chill vacation rather than a lively city.
All in all, I believe that the hotel hits a great price/performance ratio and I would gladly come back. The only issue was the initial room, but it was eventually resolved, though I would repeat that I believe those rooms should not be offered or should be offered with a disclaimer and a discount.

The hotel is really nice! I loved our room! It was well cleaned and not too old.
The food was great! Every evening there was a theme (italian night, Spanish Night, Canarian, etc)
The animation was great! Manuel, Tim and Wictoria are really so so sweet. The pool safeguard too (Gaetano).
I suggest the hotel!

My first solo trip as a young women turned out to be exactly what I needed, and this hotel was the perfect choice. If you’re after a quiet getaway to clear your mind, this is the place. While the area doesn’t offer much activity, the peaceful beach and the hotel’s warm atmosphere make it worthwhile. The rooms were very clean, the staff were kind and welcoming, and I left feeling proud and grateful for taking this step on my own. A truly relaxing and memorable stay.
The only thing I have to say is the food could’ve been a little bit better. But still enjoyed!

Just got back from here for 5 nights and I could not fault the place. Every member of staff was so polite and professional, sea view from the balcony was so peaceful, food was exactly what you expect from an all inclusive. A massive shout out to the entertainment team who kept the vibe going morning through till night. Being a male/male couple we have to research extra before we go anywhere but we where able to just be us which made this place even more relaxing. You can choose between lots of activities throughout the week or just lay and do nothing. Evening entertainment every night was amazing too.
