Costa calma is a quiet area, the hotel is modern and very relaxed, plenty of sun loungers available, we had a premier room and defo recommend. Kettle,fridge, large shower and air con, drinks were good, Beach is 15 mims walk, but only 1 cafe around and limited toilets. Couple of useful shops for provisions close to the hotel, but no restaurants or larger shops so unless you taxi out, you need to eat at the hotel, the food became monotonous by the end of the holiday as it seemed the same everyday... great for a relaxing holiday, not for kids or anyone looking for entertainment,restaurants and great food ... was a nice holiday but sadly will not return .

The rooms were some of the cleanest I came across (cleaned daily) and the food was quite delicious for buffet standards (diverse weeklong choice). And above all, the hotel is very cheap (got mine at €60 per night per person - for 2 people in July). The location has a local small shop with basic necessities and a bus stop that'll get you anywhere you need. Recommended!

Not sure what most of the recent reviewers expected - it's a 4 star, all inclusive that costs €550 for 2, for a week in offseason January. For that, it's exactly what we expected.
Food - wasn't as bad as most make out and choice differed every night and we only felt one night was lacking. I will admit the food under the lamps was tepid but if turned up too much it'll dry out. Service from almost everyone I felt was good, drinks and cocktails were good.
Rooms - didn't have any issue with ants and the room is perfect for a couple. I didn't like the beds however - hard mattress for side sleeper kept me up and restless. At checkout I asked if available - mattress toppers are available on request so make sure to ask on check in (not check out like me!). Pool area was windy but it's January..
Location - if anyone did any research of the hotel and island they'd see that the town of Costa Calma is just mainly hotels and is quiet. If you're after a vibrant town and nightlife with bustling restaurants then Corallejo in the north or Morro Jable in the south would be more suited. This for us was perfect though, quiet romantic getaway where we didn't feel need to leave the hotel. We had rented a car to get about the island to Golf, quad excursion, volcano hiking and beauty spot sight seeing.

Absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel!
It's quiet. 15 minutes walk to the beach. Not much around the hotel and not much really to do in Costa Calma, apart from the beach.
Rooms are excellent!! Big , good beds, very clean, kettle and fridge in the room, balcony.
Small clean pool.
Food is very tasty but not a huge choice. I loved it , my son was just eating fries ( kids might struggle as there's no junk food)
Drinks are very good!
Plenty of parking outside the hotel.
There are no snacks and no entertainment.

Before you read the whole review, just so you know: I’ve stayed at many all-inclusive hotels, including a few in the Canary Islands, so I'd say I have a pretty solid basis for comparison.
Overall, I consider our stay very pleasant. I’d rate the hotel positively, but I’ll be honest because there is definitely room for improvement.
Let’s start with the pros:
The staff is amazing! Friendly, smiling, and incredibly helpful. Fernanda, Ahmed, Alvin and Carla are absolute gold and deserve a raise (Manager, if you’re reading this, they are your best asset!).
The hotel rooms (which are actually like mini bungalows) look nice inside and are in good condition. The hotel grounds are tidy and well-maintained. It’s a typical "Canarian 4-star" hotel, which translates to about a 3-star standard by general European benchmarks. To the closest beach is only around 11-14 minutes walk
The food is okay. People who complain probably haven't been to many all-inclusive resorts. Taimar offers a very typical buffet for this tier of hotel—neither better nor worse. Some dishes are terrible, some are delicious, and breakfast is pretty much the same every day. The bar also offers a standard selection: cheap local alcohol included, better brands for an extra charge. The bartenders make great drinks (I highly recommend the mojito). You’ll definitely find something you like. This is standard practice for this type of service, so I don’t count it as a flaw.
The hotel is incredibly quiet. (Warning: this might be a con if you’re looking for entertainment!). Taimar offers absolutely nothing in terms of activities. Zero. There isn't even background music at the bar (which is a bit of an overkill), no entertainment teams, no parties, and no playgrounds. There are also absolutely NO nightlife or entertainment venues within walking distance—no clubs, discos, etc. For me, it was perfect and I chose it intentionally, but consider yourself warned. This hotel is for peace-seekers, not party-goers.
There are plenty of lovely cats roaming around.
The pool is quite small, but in my opinion, sufficient. During opening hours, there’s a pool bar with drinks and snacks run by lovely staff, and there were usually free sunbeds available. There are also plenty of noisy, drunk British tourists shouting at each other from 12 meters away instead of sitting closer, but hey, it's the Canaries, so I just take that as standard. :D
Now for the cons:
The issues you read about in other reviews haven't been fixed at all:
Some genius decided that designing a semi-open dining area on an island literally named "Fuerteventura" (strong wind) was a great idea. Everything flies around because of the wind. We visited in June, and I can't even imagine what it's like here in winter.
There are still only two coffee machines in the dining area (even though there’s space for more), so you sometimes end up in a 30-person queue, which is incredibly annoying.
Due to the layout of the rooms, tiny insects (like micro-ants) get inside. They will completely invade your room (including the fridge) if you leave any food out. If you make sure no food is left exposed, the problem disappears.
The bathroom door might as well not exist. There is zero privacy. You basically have to ask your partner to step out onto the terrace when you need to use it, and vice versa.
Were we happy? Yes. The overall impression is good. The hotel has its pros and cons.
