I had a very good experience overall at this hotel! The atmosphere, service, and facilities were all great. A special mention goes to the entertainment team—they were incredibly friendly, energetic, and made every moment more enjoyable.
A special thanks to Fran, who truly stood out and made our stay even more memorable. 😊

This was a big birthday for me big 40 came away on my own and the staff here have made me feel so welcome and everyone has been so friendly. This is by far my favourite hotel of all time the views are just out of this world for the value for money. I will 100 percent be staying here often love Hotel Poseidon Playa ❤️

We were given a top-floor room. Reception told us we could choose the floor, as there were plenty of rooms available. I know those rooms can be hotter, but our booking included AC, so I didn't worry too much.
On the 1st night we couldn't sleep because the room was so hot. Thermometer showed 27°C during the night, even though the AC had been set to the minimum temp all day and night. At 4:00 am, I had to open both the balcony door and the corridor door just to get some air into the room. The corridor was cooler than the room, so I stayed up to make sure nobody entered.
At 6:00 am, I went to reception and asked to change rooms, explaining that the AC was not working. I was told to come back at 10:00. If they had fans available, one could have been offered already then.
When I returned, I was told that the AC is switched off at night and only on during the day. What kind of logic is that? The rooms are cooled when guests are not there, while the building heats up in the sun during the day and radiates heat at night when people are trying to sleep.
We were offered a room on the first floor, directly behind solar panels. Yes, the sea could technically still be seen, but it was obvious why many guests would complain. The panels had been added later in front of the 1st floor, and what may originally have been a proper sea-view room no longer was one.
We asked if any other room would be available later that day, so we could still have a proper sea view. We were told there was not, even though booking websites were still showing several rooms in the same category for those dates, and reception had told us the day before that there were several floors to choose from. The hotel has 17 floors of guest rooms, and this was during a non-peak period.
A female receptionist smirked and told us that we should book another room then. I asked if she was seriously suggesting that. She gave no reply. I was not rude to her or anyone else. I simply wanted a lower-floor room where the AC situation might be better, rather than staying directly under the roof in a hotel with poor/no AC.
We went back to our room, and my wife started crying from exhaustion and anxiety about the next two nights. A technician arrived, saw her crying, and left. Later, another technician manually switched on the AC. The “cooling” air coming from the system was 24.5°C, which is not enough to cool a room that heats up to around 30°C during the day.
After the AC had been running for 3.5 hours, the room was still 27°C, and the sun was still going to heat it for several more hours.
Suddenly, another room was offered. We received a room a couple floors lower and were also given a fan. This was exactly the kind of solution I had asked for from the beginning. If a room became available later that day, why could they not simply say in the morning: “We can move you after other guests have checked out”? Instead, they made a solvable problem unnecessarily difficult, wasting our time and causing stress.
The second room was slightly cooler than the top-floor room, but the AC still didn't cool much. For the remaining nights, we slept with the fan on full power next to the open balcony door. With that setup, the temperature next to the bed was around 24°C at night.
This happened in May, when the outside daytime temperature was 27°C in the shade and nighttime temperature around 21°C. Summer temperatures are much higher. If rooms are already this hot in May, I would not want to imagine them in July or August.
If the hotel operates its AC this way for environmental or cost saving reasons, this should be clearly stated before booking. Not all hotels operate like this, as our two other hotels on the same trip clearly showed. Guests should be allowed to decide for themselves whether they want to stay in a hotel where the AC is switched off at night or does not properly cool the room.
This was a bad hotel experience, not only because of the room temperature, but also because of the dismissive and unhelpful way the situation was handled from the very beginning.

It’s pathetic it’s been the second time I’ve come this year and today I asked to fill my thermos with ICE, plain ice. They charged me 1,40 for just putting 4 cubes of ice in my thermos. It’s like pathetic, it’s basically water. The waiter was also very unfriendly. I do not appreciate this and will not be recommending this place to anyone who is normal enough to just ask for ice after the prices we have to pay for the rooms. I’m very upset. I have a friend who was coming from the UK I had recommended this hotel and have just advised her to go to elsewhere.

Great quiet Spanish location. Excellent service and food. All rooms have a sea view. But no kettle 😢. Aircon not brilliant. Others stayed twice and definitely stay again.
