My rating is against this being a "4 star" hotel. It is not a 4 star hotel, there is no room service, the towels get changed once every 4 days (a problem in January as there was rain most days and no heated towel rail to dry them so it was damp towels for 4 days). You have to pay for a room safe and you have to pay to swap you pool towels. Also, the most bizarre - no iron? I don't think I've been to a hotel in my life where there hasn't been an iron available - Travelodge's have irons. However, rooms were very clean and despite the bathroom needing a refurb everything was in good working condition.
Most of the facilities otherwise are okay and I would say the food is of good quality (except the coffee - it is pretty nasty at the breakfast buffet). There is however decent enough coffee at the other bars. The Italian restaurant is worth a visit during the stay.
Service was generally very good - with some excellent individuals.
The gym looked okay but we didn't use, the spa was booked up so again can't comment.
It's main redeeming feature is it is set in the most beautiful area, the beaches are idillic and it was lovely to see all the stray cats being so well looked after (I think this is an island thing as opposed to specifically a hotel, but they looked in amazing health).
If this were rated 3 star I'd still be looking for an iron and more regular towel changes, but we had a good time there so if you can get the place for a bargain I'm sure you will have a good time, however, we won't be rushing back

We have just returned from a week at Playa Esmeralda and it is by far the best hotel experience that we have ever had. Having usually stayed in the North of the Island we love this area as it is quieter, less touristy and the scenery stunning.
We had a Superior Seaview room which was beautifully decorated and furnished to a high quality, a decent size, quiet, very comfy beds with a great walk in shower with complimentary toiletries and the room was serviced to a very high standard each day.
We stayed All-Inclusive and although we did eat out on one night and a few lunchtimes because we hired a car so visited places during the day it was still worth it. The food at all meal times had something for everyone, and all dietary requirements catered for. The show cooking featured fresh fish and meats as well as themed evenings such as Mexican, Paella, Italian and also on one evening fresh shellfish. And the choice of drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic were very good.
The Staff throughout the entire hotel from the Reception, Bar, Restaurant, Room Service were all very friendly and kept the hotel immaculate.
There was nightly entertainment in both the main lobby bar, usually a singer, and downstairs often alternative acts but again, there was something for everyone!
The pool area was very relaxing and chilled with lots of different areas and although we aren't big sunbathers it was nice at the end of the day to sit in the sun as was the outside area of the lobby bar which had the last of the evening sun with an amazing view of the Lagoon, the beach and sea.
There was also a small indoor pool, hot tub and a spa which we didn't use on this so cannot comment on and also daily activities which we did not participate in either on this occasion but there was a good selection.
Overall, if you are looking for a relaxing, chilled, quieter holiday then this is the perfect place. It is a rarity to find a decent adult only all inclusive at a reasonable price.
If you are the type of person to stay around the hotel area then you would find plenty to do as you can walk into the local town in 15 mins where there are a few small shopping centres with shops, bars and restaurants as well as walks to the beach and the Lagoon etc. I would also recommend hiring a car like we did and always do as there are so many places to visit within an easy short drive and more stunning scenery and beaches also.
Unfortunately, for half of our stay the weather wasn't that great so we have had no alternative than to book another week and will be returning in June and really looking forward to it!

We loved our stay in the H10 playa Esmeralda!
We had a spacious lovely room with sea view. It was cleaned every day, thanks to Jessica and the other ladies for the good care and always folding my pyama in happy shapes. A problem with the sensor on the terrace door was quickly fixed. The bed was slightly to hard for my taste, but my husband likes it. Enough pillows to provide comfort. Very nice shampoo/shower gel. Sometimes a muffy smell from the bathroom (old pipes?).
The food was very diverse and delicious (from our cubano friend Alain). One suggestion would be to have more 0.0% drink options (like red wine for Sangria, champagne 0.0%, gin 0.0% for mocktails), as I am pregnant and drinking sodas gets a bit boring on a holiday.
The beach (playa Esmeralda) in front is beautiful & you can see the wind/kitesurfers at the near playa Sotavento.
The activities and entertainment provided by our smiley friend Wajdi was great fun :D From yoga on the beach, to aqua spinning and great music in the evenings!
Other suggestions for further improvement would be:
-Spa is small and the turkish bath was out of order on a rainy day.
-Spa treatments are on the expensive side, compared to a very great massage we had in Corralejo.
- The bar upstairs never had enough sitting places in the evenings...

Very good location, great pools and sunbed areas, the different cafe and bar options across the property were a great setup. Nightly entertainment was always excellent and impressive. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. The room we had was nice, big and comfortable. Food selection was amazing every day, every meal. Really liked the turtle pond inside the hotel in the hallway.

Food is excellent. We were all inclusive. We stayed 7 nights and I never got bored with the variety of food, something for everyone. Breakfast was awesome, I always enjoyed my breakfast, some mornings even with a glass of Cava or two. The alcoholic drinks were lovely, good brands were used. My favourite was Bulldog gin with tonic. Gorgeous! Service also excellent. Staff were amazing . Mame and Hassan in the dining room, so friendly & helpful. Rooms were spotless. A lovely stay!
