Stayed here in late August 26, phenomenal hotel! Probably the best breakfast area I’ve been to and the roof top pool offers an excellent view - be aware, no matter how hot the weather, the pool is VERY cold (initially). The hotel is situated seconds from the beach and decent beachfront restaurants and is in a very desirable position. The rooms are excellent too offering sea views. Only gripe is It does get noisy from the outside on a night with people coming back from a night out, I pack earplugs on every holiday so I wasn’t affected! And the hotel is adults only so no kids! Old town is about 0.7m away so you can view the Spanish steps and other nice places there. Better restaurants here too than the beachfront. Calle Rock you can see in the photos is about a 40-minute walk away along the beach and past a marina. The staff are very friendly and helpful including the cleaning staff. Would definitely recommend this luxury hotel.

The hotel is very nice with great views. Staff are very friendly especially Maria the Omelette lady at breakfast. She is my favourite, very cheerful and always has a beautiful smile.
What we don't like is the pool area! it's too small for the size of hotel, causing tension and arguments amongst the guests.
The pool area opens at 9am so we had to get up early rush our breakfast to claim a good sunbed. Not a relaxing experience!
The rooftop pool area is also very small!
Sunbeds on the beach are £30 each as of August 2026.

We had the best stay at Sol y Mar. We were originally booked to stay for 5 nights and planned to travel further along the coast. We enjoyed the facilities and the location so much, that we extended our stay at the hotel for the full duration of our trip. The staff are so friendly, Danielle at reception made us feel so welcome and definitely made our stay extra special. The hotel is spotlessly clean, we thank Luz for the great job she did on our rooms each day. We stayed in sea view rooms, which were just spectacular. The breakfast is amazing, there is something for everyone. We can’t recommend Sol y Mar enough. We hope to return again in September to this wonderful hotel.

Great hotel, we really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend if you are staying to go with a sea view room with the balcony as it can be quite hard to get a sun bed at both pool areas.
Maria who cooks the omelettes is amazing and is so friendly .
The only negative experience we had was last Sunday 30/08 when I went to the hotel bar for 2 glasses of cava . Throughout our stay all staff members filled the cava glasses to the full. This staff member however decided to fill both glasses around half full or slightly less . I did not say anything the first time but when I went up again for 2 more glasses they were filled again half way . I asked the server if it was possible to fill the glasses more as €7 is quite expensive for a half glass . The server was very rude and said no and turned her back to get the card reader . I asked her other colleague if it was possible to fill the glasses further and the other colleague did fill the glasses slightly more but not as much as normal. I have no issue if it’s the hotels policy to fill the glasses half full but I wanted to highlight how rude this individual was . I don’t however want to let one individual tarnish my review so overall I would definitely recommend the hotel for guests .

Today is our last day of vacation, and leaving this wonderful hotel is truly heartbreaking. We had an amazing stay and felt genuinely cared for from the very first moment.
The hotel is beautiful, modern, spotless, and in a perfect location. Everything is well maintained, and the attention to detail makes the experience even more special.
A huge thank you to the entire staff. Everyone at the reception, the restaurant, and the bar made us feel welcome and truly pampered throughout our stay.
We would especially like to thank Nico, who welcomed us with a smile every single time we visited the bar. His kindness and positive energy made every day brighter. We also want to thank Ana for her incredible attention to detail and professionalism, which made us feel truly valued as guests.
Thank you both for making our holiday even more memorable!
