Our stay at Anthoula Village was average overall. The beach closest to the hotel was very rocky and not well maintained. To reach a nicer beach, we had to walk about 45–50 minutes.
The hotel itself was small and, in general, not very clean. The rooms were acceptable and appeared to have been renovated, but they were still dirty and housekeeping was limited. We also found several dead cockroaches in the hallways on multiple mornings.
The food was low quality and very repetitive, with almost the same dishes served every day.
Overall, I would honestly rate the hotel 3 stars and its location 1 star.
Especially compared to the hotels right next to Anthoula Village, the difference is significant. There are two larger nearby hotels that offer much better facilities, including more attractions, larger swimming pools, and much better buffet options. They cost only about $200–300 more per person, and in my opinion, that extra money is absolutely worth it. Trust me—you'll likely have a much better vacation.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel.from check-in to check out The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff made us you feel very welcome and always ready to help. The food was delicious. The location was convenient, and the amenities were excellent. I especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and the quality of service. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Very nice and pleasant atmosphere at the hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Ahmed was amazing and managed the employees better than the boss, who is always present at the hotel. His personality and positive energy made our stay even more enjoyable. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food was very tasty. Everything was great, and we really enjoyed our stay.

WARNING: Do Not Book. A Hostile, Filthy, and Dangerous Nightmare (Not a 4-Star)

Our family just returned from the absolute worst hotel experience of our lives. This place claims to be a 4-star resort, but it is a 2-star hostel at best. The facilities are disgusting, but far worse is the management, who became actively hostile, aggressive, and vengeful when we raised legitimate issues. Do not ruin your holiday by booking here.
1. Hostile Management & Aggressive Staff
Upon a 1:30 AM arrival, there was no receptionist, only a kitchen/cleaning staff member who knew nothing about the hotel, late check-outs, or safe prices, and forgot to give us our all-inclusive bands. When we were initially given a 3-bed room for 4 people, we had to fight to get moved.
Later in the week, after we escalated our complaints to our travel agency, the manager became actively hostile. When we politely requested clean towels after several days, the manager met us with a barrage of shouting and aggression. We were told we would not receive fresh towels for the rest of our holiday (4 days), and they kept their word. We were subjected to dirty looks and passive-aggressive behaviour for the remainder of our stay.
2. Disgusting, Broken, and Unsafe Rooms
The Bathroom: Absolutely filthy. Fixtures were rusty, the mirror was smeared, and the tiles/grout were caked in years of dirt. The shower curtain was heavily stained and mouldy. The bathroom was not cleaned once during our entire 7-day stay.
Broken Amenities: The shower head was completely broken off the wall. When we complained, the manager dismissed it, saying "this is just how Greece is" and told us to hold it. Other guests reported the exact same issue.
The "Greenhouse" Bedroom: The children's bedroom had no curtain (the fixtures were broken and never replaced). Sunlight poured in, cooking the kids in the morning. We had to resort to using clips to hang a bed sheet over the window so they could sleep.
Inadequate Air Con: The AC was only in one room. It was incredibly noisy, smelled terrible, and couldn't cool the apartment, leaving the kids’ room hot and suffocating.
Security Risks: The front door was broken and had to be slammed shut, which caused part of the lock to fall off. They refused to give us more than 1 key, meaning we couldn't go out independently because removing the key card cut off all power and AC. At check-out, there is no luggage room; bags are left entirely unsecured in the public lobby.
Pests: The room next to us found a cockroach on a child's pillow. When they complained, the manager actually blamed the guests.
Furniture: The four leather chairs in the room were so sticky and stained they were completely unusable.
3. Appalling "All-Inclusive" Food & Drink
The Food: Horrible, unlabelled, and identical every single day. Plates and cutlery were consistently dirty. There was nowhere near enough seating; guests had to eat in the reception area, only to be shouted at by the manager for doing so. On night one, 25 people were left aggressively pushing in line for a few strips of chicken from a single grill because there wasn't enough to go around. We were forced to spend money eating out every single day.
The Drinks: "All-inclusive" is a joke. Only cheap beer and wine are available until 6:00 PM (and you are banned from having alcohol with lunch or dinner). After 6:00 PM, your only options are basic vodka or gin.
The "Gym": Completely fraudulent. It consists of a few machines that aren't plugged in (with no outlets anywhere near them) and a broken cable machine. It is a storage closet, not a gym.
Summary
The local bars in the area actually joke about this hotel because they are so used to desperate guests fleeing the resort to find edible food and proper drinks.
There are beautiful, well-run, welcoming resorts in this exact area for the same price. Do not subject your family to the filth and hostility of this place. Avoid at all costs.

Finding Anthoula Village Hotel is a bit tricky simply because of signage. Your mapping app will bring you to the address and then you'll be puzzled as to where to go next 😎. Our holiday was fabulous partly because staying at the Anthoula Village was hassle-free. It's proximity with the beach, restaurants, water activities. We found the deal to be excellent value for money. Anthoula is run like a family business so attention to guest needs is very personal. The quality of food was astounding with the chef available to interact with guests during meals. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
