Loved this hotel! My husband and I stayed here with our two daughters, 20 & 15. Rooms were lovely and serviced daily. Staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. A young man called Dower on the front desk was an asset to the hotel, always welcoming us with a smile and a chat to ask how our day was going.
We booked B&B but ate in all of the restaurants at one time or another, food was delicious in all of them. The girls said the sushi was some of the best they ever had. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of things to choose from.
There are two pools on the roof, plenty of Sun loungers and a rooftop bar/restaurant where the staff were already pouring your drink as soon as you started walking over.
It’s a 20 minute walk to the nearest beach but you can hop on a bus right outside the hotel, we got an Uber which was less than €5.
There are plenty of shops and restaurants around the hotel but not much in the way of nightlife such as bars/clubs, none that we found anyway.
It’s a very hilly area, lots of steps to go exploring so probably not suited to those less mobile.

We enjoyed very much our stay at Solana Hotel 🙂.
The room was spacious, functional and comfortable. The balcony is pleasant.
The 24-hours presence at the reception with friendly, profesional, attentive staff is a plus. Generous buffet breakfast in a large inside/outside space. Also, several restaurants: we have enjoyed twice having dinner at Tosca's, which offers very good quality mediterranean food at very reasonable prices.
Good ambiance at the Top Deck bar, around the swimming-pool, excellent place to have a cocktail (large choice and Happy Hour deal) watching the sunset with a wonderful view of Mellieha's church and bay. A great experience!
Last but not the least, a special thank to Mary who welcomed us, for her kindness, and various useful informations for our stay. And also Holly, Kyal and Andres for the availability and reactivity. Thank you very much to Dawa for his special attention. It was deeply appreciated.
Next time we come to Malta, no doubt we will choose Solana Hotel again. 💝

We have spent our 7 days in quite good comfort. The service was nice and friendly. Room was clean and had much space.
We bought the parking space. From the beginning they gave us some paper to sign that they don’t take responsibility for the car in the parking but as well we needed leave the key in the parking reception. We had noticed that car after first night was moved to another space. We asked nicely that we don’t want them to drive our car as it’s rented and we are responsible for that and just my husband is allowed to drive and what if someone just scratch it during moving the car. In reception they said that that the policy is like that that they need to move cars from time to time and never happed that someone damaged any car from the stuff. What a solution they gave us was to refund money for parking but then we need to take a car and to park somewhere else. So just be careful with that subject.
And I am adding laundry prices in one of the pics ( price per item so in my opinion expensive) as prices in other places was cheaper.
Similar in the hotel massages prices nearly double €75( price in promotion) regular price €95 ( for 1h), we paid € 45 outside for 1h either🫶

I’ve been to Malta a few times, and I can confidently say this is the best hotel I’ve stayed in so far. The rooms are spotlessly clean, the staff is incredibly friendly and always ready to help, and the food is absolutely delicious – every meal felt like a treat. The location is perfect, close to everything you might need, yet still peaceful and relaxing. Everything about my stay exceeded expectations. Highly recommended – I’ll definitely be coming back!

Given that the hotel is aesthetically very beautiful and the prices are extremely high, everything is expected to be exceptionally professional as well. However, when we arrived in the room, it was full of ants that we simply couldn't get rid of, and although housekeeping came to "clean," the ants were still there. Despite several requests to have the towels in the bathroom changed, no one came or replaced them. The leftover food we had ordered to the room was not cleaned up until we left a note next to it asking for it to be taken away. For a hotel of this quality, this should not be happening!
