I have mixed feelings about this hotel. It could easily be improved with very little effort!
Pros:
- nice location, close to everything
- overall good, modern feel
- staff is overall very nice, with some exceptions
- good facilities, pools, spa
Cons:
- the rooms have ZERO sound proofing- you can hear absolutely everything going outside like it's in your room. Doesn't help that hotel is full of loud kids and drunk people who scream at night. Not a very relaxing atmosphere...
- SPA is quite nice and again staff is trying, but my therapist Precious was clearly not well trained. I could feel her hesitating, stoping and starting my massage and doing completly different movements on both side of my body. On a scrub she omitted harder skin areas like feet, knees or elbows yet spent a lot of time on delicate areas like neck or armpits. Not a very good experience on 250€ treatment.
- we wanted to use a pool and paid for bathrobes- we waited so long for them that we ended up just going covered in towels after waiting almost an hour!
- we paid extra for a room with better view and still got room with view of neighbors and air conditioning. We got explanation that room is more spacious but view was not guaranteed(?). This feels extremely misleading.
Overall we picked this hotel for a very relaxing trip and it was absolutely not a place to relax.

Location was quite out the way for tourism but the place itself had a quieter peaceful feeling not to busy easy to get from. Hotel was very clean and staff were nice and accommodating. Spa was great although costs extra. But pool access was included with our room roof top had incredible view

Lovely hotel , super clean and very friendly staff!
Dawa was in particularly amazing ! Always ensured everything was alright and he was very friendly.
We were room only but there are loads of restaurants around in the area too! A quiet but friendly location
Lovely rooftop pool too! Great price for the upto date hotel.
Will definitely be back if in Malta again

The staff on reception are wonderful, helpful, polite and professional. The spa was lovely, we had a couples massage which was very relaxing. The main dining room had a themed buffet each night which is very good value. The buffet breakfast has lots of choice. The Prickly Pear is good for a snack and a drink but chilly if you go out of season as the auto door is constantly in use. The hotel is situated two thirds of the way up a steep hill. There is a good bus service but we used ubers as better price than taxis and saved waiting around for buses.

Recommend go with half board option with Solana Hotel & Spa (Breakfast and Evening Dinner), pretty much is like an unlimited buffet with different cruisines each evening.
Hotel frontdesk staff is polite and very helpful.
Good Value if you stay for 1 week to explore Malta.
