This is truly the best hotel I have been to in Tenerife!
This is one of the few places where you can see the neighbouring island, stunning sunsets, cliffs, while being in a quiet city (no crazy parties) so you can actually listen to the sound of waves that travels all the way up the hill. We have visited in 2015 and again in 2025. Not much changed, but everything is extremely well maintained. Super clean! Breakfasts are great, you should totally go at least once. Exquisite food, champagne if you like, large selection of food and drinks.
I have only positive things to say about this hotel! It was totally full during our stay, but it was barely noticeable because of how it’s built.

Our stay at Royal Sun Resorts in Los Gigantes, Tenerife, was absolutely wonderful. This was our second visit – we were here two years ago – and we are happy to say that everything is still just as excellent as it was back then.
Once again, the service was fantastic: friendly, helpful, and always welcoming. The hotel is very clean, well-maintained, and comfortable in every detail. The food is delicious, varied, and prepared to a very high standard.
Royal Sun Resorts continues to deliver great quality, and we felt truly well taken care of. We are very satisfied with our stay and can highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a perfect place to relax on Tenerife.
Cotswolds Retreat
We (husband and wife) were here at Royal Sun Resorts for four weeks between January and February earlier this year. Well, here we are for another four weeks (can't quite believe we have spent 1/6th of a year at Royal Sun Resorts) and enjoying it just as much as before.
Prior to our arrival we sent an email requesting a particular room knowing that there are no guarantees. On check in the receptionist advised that we were being allocated the room we requested so we felt very lucky indeed, especially as it was very busy. Like our previous room (which was next door) we were located on the same floor as the Aqua Restaurant, one floor below the pool, and one above the Regency Restaurant, where we enjoyed our included breakfast.
The apartment is spacious, spotless, and well-equipped with a cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, and all necessary utensils. The only oddity was a single power outlet in the kitchen, meaning only one appliance could be used at a time. We put the toaster over by the TV so that we could boil a kettle or use the microwave while we toasted bread. The bathroom is very large with ample storage, and the bedroom has twin beds (pushed together as a double), a built-in wardrobe, drawers, and extra storage by the entrance.
The smart TV offers excellent picture quality and a good range of UK channels (BBC, ITV, Channel 4, etc.), and the Wi-Fi was superb – fast enough to stream BBC iPlayer in HD without buffering.
The highlight is the large terrace, furnished with sunbeds and a table, and offering stunning views over Los Gigantes and towards La Gomera, with sun from mid-morning until sunset.
The gym has a wide range of equipment, though some machines could use updating. There’s also an on-site shop for essentials and a laundry area with washers and dryers.
Housekeeping was efficient and friendly, as were the reception staff and we must mention Nayara who checked us in who was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast team are fantastic – always cheerful and welcoming and they all seemed to work well as a team greeting guests, clearing tables and assisting guests with any requests for things like high chairs for young children. It is also a pleasure to see how the breakfast team look after small children offerr-ing highs fives, or carrying juices for them to their tables. The buffet offers an excellent selection of hot and cold dishes (the thickly cut white bread with the crust was a highlight as was the Apple Crumble tart) , plus sparkling wine for a morning treat (we enjoyed a few glasses of Bucks Fizz!).
The entire hotel is spotless, with a small army of staff constantly cleaning public areas.
Overall, we are having a wonderful, relaxing stay and have felt at home from day one. We have a busy schedule for 2026 so we are looking to return January 2027 which seems a long way off but it will soon come round.
We highly recommend the Royal Sun Resort for a peaceful, well-run, and comfortable stay. Thanks you to all the staff for their kindness, smiles and great service. And also thank you to the hotel team for putting up Halloween decorations, it was lovely to see.

We had an amazing stay. The rooms were beautiful, and the balcony was huge, all the rooms face the sea so they all have stunning views. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, with a wide variety of options. One of our group has coeliac disease, they were really impressed that they had gluten-free food ready at our table every morning—it made such a difference.
Our booking only included breakfast, but we tried a couple of the themed evening meals (Italian and American nights), and both were excellent.
The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, which really made the experience special. A particular highlight for us was Manuel, who made our cocktails every evening—he turned it into an event in itself. He made the holiday for us.
Would highly recommend and would definitely return.
