We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at AX The Palace and wouldn't hesitate to book again and recommend.
This was our first visit to Malta and we had the best time. We were so pleased with our choice of hotel. The location was an ideal base for exploring with easy access to the seafront, restaurants and shops. It was much quieter than busy Valletta but still with a very pleasant atmosphere.
The service we received was superb. All staff were friendly and accommodating. We were delighted with our upgrade to a superior room when checking in. The room was stunning with an amazing seaview. All facilities were well maintained and met our needs. We especially loved the rooftop pool and bar.
Breakfast was good with a wide selection of hot and cold options served buffet style. Personally I prefer an a la carte style breakfast with table service and I was surprised this wasn't an option. It would have made breakfast a better and more relaxed experience for me. The staff were very attentive and great at replenishing food but I just find other guests' behaviour around the food off-putting (e.g. handling food when there were tongs, leaning over you when you're trying to get food) and would prefer to have the option of having breakfast cooked to order. We didn't dine in any of the other restaurants available in the hotel but it was good to have these available.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Outstanding hotel in a brilliant location - 10 mins to restaurants and promenade. Arrived to a handwritten welcome note from the Guest Relations team and a lovely welcome amenity of fresh fruit and Maltese pastizzi — small touches that made a big impression.
We booked a Junior Suite for three adults — plenty of space, and very comfortable.
The buffet breakfast was exceptional — fresh fruit, continental and full cooked hot breakfast, plus a live omelette station. As Muslim travellers we were delighted to find all chicken was halal, a thoughtful touch that made a real difference.
The reception staff were exceptionally attentive throughout — always helpful and a genuine credit to the hotel.
We made great use of the sauna and indoor pool every evening — both open until 9pm, ideal after a full day of sightseeing. The outdoor infinity pool closes at 6pm so we didn't manage to use it — something to factor in if you're out and about during the day.
Practical bonus: there's a Lidl just around the corner — great for stocking up before day trips, especially if you have a hire car. There's also a beautiful church opposite the hotel; the bell rings every 15 minutes but you quickly get used to it!
Perfectly positioned for exploring Malta — buses, the seafront promenade and the ferry all on the doorstep. Would absolutely stay again. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it.
The room was cleaned thoroughly every day, and everything was always spotless and comfortable. The location is excellent, with the promenade, bus stops, and shops all within easy walking distance.
The food was outstanding — delicious, varied, and of high quality. We were also impressed by the friendly and helpful staff, who were always welcoming and ready to assist.
We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable stay, great service, and a perfect location.

Really great experience at this hotel. Wonderful polite and generous service. Comfortable big bed and good pillows on request. Varied selection at breakfast. Only issue for us was the TV - not enough good options and couldn't connect to the Internet on the TV. 3 pools - 1 heated indoor, 1 heated outdoor and 1 cool water in an adult only area with no music which was our favourite! Be aware that if you're on the 8th floor you can hear the chairs being moved above you.

Currently staying in this hotel with a 9 year old boy and myself. The hotel is amazing. Very clean and tidy and very classy. The pool is amazing. I last came here about 10 years ago and it's as good now as it was then. On a lovely hot day it never felt over crowded or busy at all. There is plenty of seating pool side and more than enough to cater for the amount of guests that can stay in the hotel.
The rooms are well equipped. We have a superior with balcony. The bathroom is perfect to relax at the end of the day and furniture is comfortable spacious.
The staff are friendly and can't do enough to make the stay enjoyable. From ordering drinks and food to helping with general enquiries they are superb.
Location is great and only a short walk gets you to the coastline or any amount of bars and restaurants that you could want. The food in the hotel is very nice and generous.
I would happily recorded this hotel to anyone wanting a good base for exploring Malta to people looking for a more luxurious experience. It really does have it all.
