We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel!
The staff were incredibly friendly and always happy to help. The food was fresh, varied, and delicious. We especially enjoyed that two of the dishes were cooked fresh right in front of you. The only small improvement I would suggest is to add a bit more variety to the breakfast menu, as it was the same every day.
The hotel was very clean, the rooms were spacious, and the location was excellent. It was easy to get around thanks to the nearby bus connections, and it was only about 10–15 minutes from the airport.
The only issue we had was at check-in. We were initially given a room where the bathroom was downstairs and the bed was upstairs, connected by a staircase. Normally this wouldn’t have been a problem, but I’m pregnant and having to use the bathroom several times a night made the stairs inconvenient and potentially unsafe. Thankfully, the staff were incredibly understanding and did everything they could to find us another room, which they did. We really appreciated their kindness and willingness to help.
My advice to anyone who is pregnant or has mobility issues is to mention it before arriving, as we didn’t know these split-level rooms existed.
Overall, I would happily give this hotel 5 out of 5 stars and would definitely recommend it to others!

We stayed here for 7 nights and overall had a great holiday. Check-in was quick and friendly, everything was explained clearly and our room was clean, modern and well looked after.
The biggest disappointment was the housekeeping over the first weekend. Our towels were not changed at all – they simply hung our used towels back up, even one that had been left on the bathroom floor. I only noticed because one towel still had my mascara on it. Thankfully, from Monday onwards everything changed. The room was cleaned properly every day, coffee was restocked, cups were washed and fresh towels were provided.
We also had an extra bed for our 9-year-old son, but no blanket was provided for him until Monday, so we had to give him ours for the first two nights.
The biggest issue was the sunbeds. Guests reserved them very early in the morning and many stayed empty for hours. The hotel tried to stop this by placing warning notices on unattended sunbeds, but nothing was ever removed, so some guests had no sunbeds while others had several reserved all morning.
The food was absolutely amazing. Every meal was delicious and there was a huge variety every day. Honestly, this was the best part of our stay... we all came home about 3 kg heavier! 😄
The only other downside was that the all-inclusive bar closed at 10 pm, after which all drinks had to be paid for. There was also very little evening entertainment or music, so the hotel felt quite quiet at night.
Despite a few issues, we really enjoyed our holiday and would happily return if the housekeeping and sunbed situation were improved.

Recently holidayed at the Alua Atlantico with my 5-year old daughter - and we absolutely loved it!
So, firstly - the room. Our room - 1308 - was a great sized "double room" with two twin beds, a settee, fridge, dressing table, twin balcony's and a gorgeous, sizeable shower room with twin sinks. The room was clean, had gorgeeous views towards the sea and the hotel itself was spotless throughout.
The food; now, I read mixed reviews on the food, so here's an honest take. There's absolutely NOTHING wrong with the selection of food on offer. Even the fussiest of eaters could find something to eat. Themed night foods change each evening - Italian, Mexican, Oriental etc - but there's standard choices such as meats, chips, cheeses etc - so that even the fussiest of fussy eaters will have something to choose from. My 5 year old loves the food and never once went with a struggle. She loved every bit.
The pools; a choice of pools across the hotel site - make sure you go for a mooch as there's about 3-4 adult and children's pools to choose from. Despite the size of the hotel, there was never a time it felt like the pools or resorts were overcrowded. Considering we went the first week of August, it was a pleasant surprise.
Elsewhere, a special thanks to Laurence and the team for accomodating my partners request who, from back home in the UK, asked them to provide a cake in the room for my 40th birthday. They went above and beyond, providing a cake, a bottle of fizz, a card and note from the team, and enough balloons to entertain the whole block. Genuinely, thank you very much. It was a lovely touch and added to the holiday/celebrations.
As it was just me and my 5 year old daughter, we didn't venture too far away from the hotel (apart from going to the Monkey Park one day - another review to follow). However, if you want to go to the shingle/pebble beach, it's literally 5 minutes walk out of the hotel - we went down twice as my daughter loved it!
Plenty of entertainment on in the evenings, as well as an arcade and other things for kids to do, too.
Overall, 5-stars all round.
Staff are lovely, friendly and engaging with me and my daughter, good food, good location (really short transfer) - would absolutely recommend and definitely would return!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spectacular experience – highly recommended!
Our stay at Alua Atlántico Golf Resort was simply excellent. From the very first moment, we felt truly welcomed thanks to Karla at reception, who was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive. Her professionalism really impressed us, and she made us feel comfortable and welcome from the moment we arrived. Without a doubt, she contributes tremendously to this hotel and makes a real difference in the guest experience.
The food and drinks at the restaurant were excellent — very good quality, great variety, and consistently enjoyable throughout our stay.
The room was another highlight: spacious, spotless, and absolutely spectacular. Everything was perfectly maintained and very comfortable.
Honestly, we can only say positive things about this hotel. It was a fantastic experience from beginning to end.
Everything was perfect! We would definitely recommend Alua Atlántico Golf Resort to family, friends, and colleagues planning to visit the area. We would be delighted to return.

A couple in our late 50s stayed end of April.
Our room was in block 4 we had a great view of the marina. We upgraded to a suite this had a large lounge area seperate bedroom with 2 patio style doors opening onto a large balcony, with a kettle and fridge.
The whole hotel was very clean and looked newly painted. Evening entertainment was very good with singers, dancers and a circus.
We loved the food on offer, not the biggest choice but very good value.
The drink token system worked well and stopped people stock pilling drinks at 11.00 (all inclusive stopped at 11.00) although we had to queue for drinks.
5 pools to choose from and plenty of sunbeds available.
All the staff were great. Some bars and restaurants close by with one selling a large beer for 1 euro.
The beaches are black volcanic rock and not suitable for sunbathing on.
We loved it and will return
