We’ve had a really lovely stay at the Colón Guanahaní and would happily recommend it, especially if you’re looking for somewhere calm and relaxing.
The hotel has a peaceful, quiet atmosphere and the staff are a real standout — consistently friendly, kind and professional throughout our stay. The location is lovely, although there’s no sea view; if possible, I’d definitely recommend choosing a room overlooking the pool rather than the street.
The food has been excellent with lots of choice - nothing negative to say at all. The New Year’s Eve buffet was absolutely out of this world and felt really special. The hotel also made a great effort at midnight with fireworks, a small gift for each guest and a photo, which was a lovely touch and made the evening memorable.
We really enjoyed the outdoor seating for drinks and meals, especially as heaters are provided for cooler evenings. The pool area is very comfortable with plenty of comfy sun loungers, and we appreciated having two towels each — one for the lounger and one for drying off.
Our room was comfortable with a very good shower, although the décor is a little dated and could do with a lick of paint. It didn’t detract too much from the stay, but a refresh would elevate things further.
A couple of small points: spa bookings are best made in advance as it gets busy, some background music around the pool area would be nice and a bit more evening entertainment in the hotel would have been welcome.
Overall, a very enjoyable stay with excellent food, wonderful staff and a calm, relaxing feel. We’d certainly consider returning.

Overall a lovely hotel, superbly located for fanabe beach and Costa Adeje per se. Very clean and well appointed. Excellent, professional, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast very good with lots of choice and good fresh options. That said, spoilt a little bit, by serving tinned peaches and Pears!! Bread also at times a little stale (suitable for toast only). We stayed over Christmas and the Christmas day buffet was exceptional, quality and choice second to none. The two main issues for us were, firstly our room. At no time of day did our balcony receive any sun at all, it also looked out on a busy road. This made the balcony noisy from traffic and too cold to sit on and the room dark and cold. Would never stay here again unless we could have a balcony that received sun at some point during the day. We did ask reception customer service if they could move us to a different room they said that it was not possible to do so. Secondly, the entertainment was very limited and repetitive. A lot of guests left the hotel at night to seek entertainment in Town. I think that if the hotel did better in this area they would find more guests staying after their meal with bar takings going up. I would add that the pool area is lovely. I can however see problems arising over sunbeds during high demand periods.

Just back from a week's stay. Very relaxing and peaceful, as the hotel seems to attract an older clientele. Two heated pools, and a rooftop heated pool and jacuzzi which have beautiful views of the sea and the mountains. I loved that we got two pool towels each - one for the sunbed and one to dry yourself. There was an excellent choice at the breakfast buffet of both hot and cold food. We didn't eat dinner in the hotel, so can't comment on that. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, particularly the housekeeping staff. The hotel is located a short walk from the beach, though it's down a steep hill which could be an issue for anyone with mobility problems.

Although not our first visit to Tenerife it was our first stay in Costa Adeje. My wife and I have only returned after spending christmas week at this absolutely beautiful hotel. It really should be 5 star in our opinion.
Where can I start on just how good it was...
Certainly a big positive for the hotel was its size, not to big. As many folk have said the age of people staying certainly was older and that was lovely. It was quieter because of this and being adult only it was indeed very relaxing. As many have also said the pools, rooms etc all where immaculately clean and the staff were simply amazing, certainly 5 star not 4. My wife commented on the sunbeds being the most comfortable she had ever experienced.
Due to not being too large, staff soon started to recognise those staying and it became very evident that nothing was to much bother. If anyone staying had any struggles with getting food etc then the staff would simply go and get it for them. I appreciate this would not be the norm but the point that staff cared enough is simply outstanding, certainly above and beyond.
There was entertainment for anyone wanting to sit in off an evening and this included xmas day when there was even music at breakfast.
Our only regret on our stay was not having the xmas buffet......we spoke to many folk who went and they said it was simply amazing. Breakfast buffet had all your needs and food from the outside bar was lovely and not overpriced.
It was only a short walk, downhill to the promenade, supermarket and many restaurants. You could walk the whole way to Playa Las Americas but options like taxis, mobility scooters are readily available for those who require them.
Although part of the Adrian group of hotels I can only suggest if you are considering a hotel in Costa Adeje do not hesitate in booking the Colon Guanahani either directly or with one of the airline companies that use it within their package deals.
If your alone, a couple or indeed have reduced mobility you will have a lovely holiday. The staff will absolutely look after you. You will not need to leave the hotel if you dont want to.
Ultimately customer service makes any stay and we wish we could give them 10 stars. That applies to all the staff we incountered including room service, kitchen staff, bar staff etc. It is this that has made it one our best stays ever.

Fabulous hotel. Positioned on the cusp of where the high-end, plush side of town meets the touristy promenade - although you'd never guess it as the hotel is a slice of peace and tranquility. Comfortable room with privacy on each balcony/terrace. Staff superb and very kind - and some a little humourous and cheeky to make you smile! Two heated pools, rooftop infinity pool and jacuzzi, and ample deck chair locations. Views from the rooftop with sea one side and mountains the other is stunning. Evening music alongside dinner was beautiful - pianist, sax, violinist, singer. Never loud, always in keeping with the relaxed mood. The highlight was buffet breakfast and dinner. As vegetarians, there was ample excellent buffet choices plus an option to request a vegetarian/vegan main the day prior, although we never found this necessary as the buffet was so good and different every night. Bravo to the chefs for being so inclusive for veggies. Only suggestion for the hotel is the food labelling - whilst there were clear symbols for allergies and vegans, there wasn't a symbol for vegetarian, and sometimes the labelling positions were in the wrong places. Unfortunately twice we tucked into salads to find small pieces of meat or fish. Hopefully a simple fix!
