TL;DR: Awesome place, don’t hesitate, book it 😎
We spent a fantastic week here. I had some doubts when I was checking the reviews, but ignore those few bad comments — I really don’t understand those people. The hotel is in a fantastic location, just a few minutes’ walk from the old town and only a few steps from the sandy beach.
The staff are exceptionally friendly, and I strongly recommend booking full board because the food is also fantastic. You have a wide range of dishes available throughout the day, including seafood, paella, pizza, a wide selection of fruit, and freshly grilled stuff.
Honestly, we thought we might visit some restaurants, but the quality and variety — and the fact that you can choose whatever you want without waiting or booking, and even just taste something if you prefer — made visits to other restaurants simply unnecessary.
The pool area is not overcrowded. You will always find sunbeds and shade available. Victor, Andres, Angela, Laura, and the rest of the animation team take care of your entertainment all day.
Drinks are reasonably priced, and if you join the hotel’s guest programme, you also get a nice discount.
For a small deposit, you get beach towels that you can change daily.
For us, Corona del Mar is a 10/10. Strongly recommended, and we will definitely come again!

Stayed here for a 10 day holiday, you will not be disappointed in this hotel, from a speedy arrival check in , happy staff and a super room, I would upgrade to a superior room if you want the sea views. The meals on full board, so you only pay for your drinks. You can pay cash or charge it to your room, if you use your card and charge it to your room you recieve. 10% discount on every drink purchased both alcohol and non alcohol . ( saved me about £25 ) This hotel is ideally situated some 2min walk to the Poniente Beach, 5 min to the old town. So much quieter than being up the new town. The majority of guests were 60+ but this was classed s out of season so understandable, many returning guests. It’s the 2nd time I have been here. The rooms were very spacious, we had 501 and absolutely enormous balcony , overlooking the pool, side sea view and no neighbours so no noise. 201-701 I would recommend for a quieter experience, no noise from the bar. The meals in the Hotel were lovely, great choice, never heard anyone complaining. The pool area is immaculate and as this hotel is near the beach there was always sun loungers available. The hotel did have live entertainment on every night. Now having been here before, I decided to use the local train/tram and this is a 15-20 walk up hill from the hotel (5eu in an uber) but the trams are so so cheap, my wife and I went to Alicante city for the day 9.80EU return for the two of us. We also did trips to Altea and another day La villa Joiosa this was 5eu for the 2 of us return happy staff, clean Hotel, reasonable drinks prices. I would go back tomorrow.

Great solid four stars. Sea view room is well worth the extra. Love listening to the waves.
Big rooms and clean and fresh.
UK tv channels very patchy and would like to have background music at the pool but otherwise very good. The pool attendant Victor is very attentive and keeps the pool in good order all day. He is a credit to the team.

The best hotel we have ever stayed in. We received a very warm welcome from the reception staff. A very spacious room with all the facilities you need. The entire hotel was spotless throughout. The restaurant had a varied variety all freshly prepared. A big thank you to the bar staff especially Ian and Diego. The entertainment was excellent with a special mention to David who made us smile everyday. We have already booked a return stay at the hotel.

I honestly don’t understand why this hotel has so many positive reviews. The rooms are nice, very clean, and the staff are friendly — that part is true. However, the food was very repetitive, almost the same every day, and rather bland.
What disappointed me was the fact that even tap water during dinner had to be paid for. We already knew that drinks during dinner were not included, so that itself was not the issue. In my opinion, water should be provided free of charge with dinner, but this is not what affected my overall experience.
The real problem was the swimming pool. The indoor pool shown in the photos was actually the main reason we chose this hotel. We paid quite a lot specifically because we wanted to relax and swim during our stay. Unfortunately, nobody informed us before arrival that the indoor pool was under renovation, while the outdoor pool was unheated. Because of the cold water and strong wind, it was impossible to swim comfortably.
We only discovered the renovation after arriving and trying to find the pool ourselves. Yes, there was a written notice — but not in the travel agency offer or booking information. It was only posted inside the hotel elevator.
I came there to relax and swim. Instead, I’m going home with back pain because I couldn’t swim even once during the entire week.
For this reason, I definitely cannot recommend this hotel.
