Fuengirola
The buzzing Fuengirola just 25 miles from Malaga Airport was once a small fishing town now a thriving and fun holiday resort. Retaining much of its original charm and character, Fuengirola has plenty of secrets and delights tucked away in its narrow and winding streets. Alfresco dining, traditional bars and typically Brit style pubs all lure the tourists during their stay at this wonderful resort. Suitable for young and old, there are plenty of activities and sights to enjoy on holidays to Fuengirola.
Pretty open squares decorated with twinkling lights of an evening come to life during tourist season, particularly when summer festivals visit with fusions of colour and parades. Miles upon miles of soft sandy beaches tempt everyone to partake of the sultry Spanish sunshine and either top up their tan or take to the sea in readiness for the wide array of water sports. Everything is readily accessible from golf and horse riding to shopping and fresh produce. Touring the region offers an abundance of enjoyable days. Landscape of citrus trees and vineyards permeate the air and a lingering serenity calms the mind. Fuengirola holidays are perfect for that relaxing sunshine break.

I stayed at Hotel Las Palmeras during my trip to Fuengirola in February. While the hotel excels in terms of logistics and location, the internal environment may be a challenge for those who prioritize a quiet, sensory-friendly retreat.
The Highlights: Location & Service
Unbeatable Access: The hotel is perfectly situated just a few meters from the harbor and the promenade. It’s an ideal spot for peaceful morning walks by the water before the crowds arrive.
Efficiency: Check-in was a breeze. The staff were friendly, professional, and highly efficient, which made the arrival process much less taxing.
The View: My room featured a balcony with a lovely view of the surrounding area. It’s a great spot to enjoy the coastal air from a private vantage point.
The Environment: Noise Levels
As someone who prefers quieter surroundings, there are a few things to keep in mind regarding the soundscape of this hotel:
External Noise: Depending on your room's placement, you will likely hear the hum of nearby bars and restaurants in the evening. This is typical for such a central location, but worth noting if you are sensitive to ambient city sounds.
Internal Disruptions: The primary drawback was the lack of soundproofing between rooms. I experienced significant noise from the adjoining rooms and corridors—specifically loud conversations, doors banging, and music playing into the early hours. Unfortunately, there seemed to be little consideration from other guests regarding noise levels at night.
If you are looking for a central hub that is steps away from the sea and managed by a great team, Las Palmeras fits the bill. However, if you are sensitive to noise or need a guaranteed quiet environment to recharge, I would recommend requesting a room away from the elevators/main corridors or bringing a high-quality pair of noise-canceling headphones.
World Traveller
The hotel is in a prime location. The hotel needs lots of TLC, but the rooms are very clean and the staff are very welcoming. We understand that the hotel's prime location is a significant advantage. It's also noted that while the establishment may require some attention and care, the rooms are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. Furthermore, the welcoming nature of the staff has been positively acknowledged. We appreciate you sharing these observations about the hotel's amenities and services.

Met expectations for a 4-star hotel at a price of just over €40 per night with breakfast.
Location is great, breakfast buffet had decent variety and overall everything was very clean, albeit a bit old.
There are a lot of bad reviews, to summarise those. Consider ponying up some extra cash for a different hotel if:
- You expect modern and recently renovated
- You are sensitive to noise. Nearby bars and discos are loud, especially during the weekend
Digna Eglīte
Hotel is over rated, not equal to other 4 star hotels. Rooms are very basic. No kettle, coffee or tea in the room, no iron, no shampoo. Only soap dispenser. Rooms requires refreshments. Poor noise isolation from the outside. No air conditioner in the room, at least not working, even with the card.
Parking is not for free or included. Had to pay extra.
Food was nice. But all juices were concentrated, very strong and sweet. In Spain you would expect fresh juice variety.
Not all staff was nice and welcoming.
Location good. Next to the port and water activities, beach, bars and restaurants.
Adrian DT
Not much has changed lately and, although there have been a few improvements, some kind of refurbishment is definitely needed. That said, I genuinely cannot fault the staff — they are all brilliant and work very hard.
One thing though… you really need to put Sergio back at the bar. He was excellent and made a big difference.
Also, a big shout out to Connor — he’s definitely making a difference.

Had a great stay here during our stay in Malaga. A very short distance away from the beach and train station. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and clean.
The food during breakfast could be improved. A lot of it was stale and unpleasant. The hotel is also quite uphill so can be difficult to walk to if you have limited mobility.
Ábel Halász
The room was okay, and the view was okay as well — overall, I liked it.
We had Full Board, and unfortunately the food was the worst we have ever had in a hotel. The breakfast was acceptable, although the coffee was really bad. However, lunch and dinner were extremely poor, easily the worst hotel meals we’ve experienced. When the food quality is this bad, it makes you feel not respected as a guest.
For the room I would give an 8/10, but for the food only a 2/10.

"My stay at Hotel TorreBlanca in Fuengirola was truly outstanding. From the moment I arrived, the staff welcomed me with genuine warmth and professionalism, making sure every detail was taken care of during my visit. The room was spotless, extremely comfortable, and offered beautiful views of the sea and the surrounding area.
The hotel's location is perfect—just steps from the beach and within easy reach of restaurants, shops, and the scenic coastal promenade. The atmosphere is peaceful and inviting, ideal whether you are looking for relaxation or an active holiday in the Costa del Sol.
The breakfast buffet exceeded my expectations, offering a wide variety of fresh and delicious choices each morning. The overall cleanliness and attention to detail throughout the hotel truly impressed me.
Without a doubt, Hotel TorreBlanca combines comfort, prime location, and excellent service. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable stay in Fuengirola. I will definitely return!"
Muchas gracias 😊

Had an amazing stay here as a solo traveller. Felt super lucky with the room I was given as I had a beautiful sea view. The room was absolutely huge, plenty of wardrobe space, hairdryer, fridge etc. and a 30 second walk from Torreblanca station making it easy to do a day trip to Malaga city or get into Fuengirola centre for food/entertainment. The bus was also €2 and easily reached by a 5 minute walk down the hill as well as the beach! I had breakfast included in my stay, I’m not a big breakfast person so mainly had fruit and when I tried the hot food a lot of it was cold.

We went there as part of a 5 day golf holiday. Great location. It's right next to the train link to the airport. €3 single. We were 5 mins walk to the beach front too! We were all inclusive. The food was very good and the options were good too. The fried eggs at breakfast were amazing. Rooms were massive too. Two pools to choose from. Nice spot for a quiet holiday. Not a hotel if you're looking to party!

I would say this hotel is not very family friendly. Seems to be for older clientele, even in half term. Day time games and evening entertainment are for older people. The entertainment staff were good fun though, the lady is great and they all worked well together.
Food really lacks choice and is of poor quality. The pasta sauces were terrible (think cheap ketchup). The food is not hot. Trays of food were not replenished quick enough, and although there is fresh food cooked in dining room, you have to queue for it.
Location is right by the beach and there are several restaurants a short walk away. Although we were all inclusive, we did eat out a few times. Fuengirola town is a bit of a trek in the heat so we walked 5 mins and caught the train. Nice and easy. If we'd been staying longer, I would have got the train to Malaga for a day trip.
Would not choose this hotel again. Really needs updating

We had 7 nights all inclusive. All in all we were over joyed, Comfortable, Spotlessly clean, amazing, friendly, helpful staff who seemed to take genuine joy from ensuring you had a great holiday. Great food, excellent selection of drinks. Entertainment for those that want it no pressure on those that don't. Great location, easy access to beach, bars and shops and a short bus ride into the centre of Fuengirola. we'd highly recommend it.

Fantastic htl. Spotless clean. Immaculate decor . Lots of brilliant food n drinks. Sun all day on our balcony with sea view. The boss so lovely as with the staff. . Massive room with the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Absolutely brilliant htl. ♥️

We were there 5/10/25 for 10 Nights. Was not Dissapointed. Very Nice Hotel. Reception was always Attentive and very Helpful, must point out Miliah Exceptional. Very Happy with the Room and the Cleanliness, and Thankyou to our Cleaner. Was not Dissapointed with Meals, the Food was Hot enough as you would expect From Buffet Selection, Microwaves were Available, this is the Normal throughout Spain.. My ONLY COMMENTS!, The Daily Charge for the Safe is the most expensive we have seen in Spain we Declined.. And for Many Years Tea and Coffee Facilities Has been provided in the Hotels Since 2000. If I was to come back the Fuengirolo I would choose Globalis Gardinia. Thankyou for a Wonderful Holiday.. David Sylvia Stephen and Kim..

This was mine and my daughters first holiday and what a disaster! Day 3 my daughter was really sick constantly and diarrhoea. Soon to realise she wasnt the only 1 who was sick and missed 4 days of her holiday being stuck in the room. We ended up having to get a doctor out because she wasnt getting better and her temperaturewas high. They injected her with antibiotics, anti sickness etc which cost alot but I needed her better before we flew back and it did help. However now iam suffering too. Food was always cold, just an awful experience as well as other guests who were in bed ill. Not sure how or what caused it but very obvious something was happening there.
Positive notes... pool was clean, weather was lovely and I liked the entertainment staff which we met the first 3 days of our stay until it all went wrong.
Cleaners couldnt speak much English but they were kind and helped me clean the room when my daughter was sick.
I personally wouldnt return and put off going on holiday for a long time altogether.

My stay at Hotel El Puerto was made significantly better thanks to Mr Mohamed.
His professionalism, kindness, patience, and genuine commitment to guest satisfaction are truly exceptional. He took the time to listen, provide assistance, and ensure that every concern was handled with efficiency and respect.
In contrast, I had a disappointing interaction with Mrs Laura at the reception desk. While I understand that internal briefings are necessary, I felt that my request for assistance was dismissed in a manner that lacked the warmth and professionalism expected in the hospitality industry.
Fortunately, Mr Mohamed’s outstanding service and leadership reflected the true standards of customer care that guests hope to experience. He is a credit to the hotel and deserves special recognition.
Thank you, Mr Mohamed, for your dedication, professionalism, and kindness.

We just had a 5 night stay here and what a lovely hotel.
The staff on the desk are very helpful and very welcoming. They know the area very well. We stayed on the top floor 1607 which had a lovely view of the port and the sunrise was fantastic.
We paid for breakfast separately each morning and had a brilliant choose of cereal, hot food and continental.
Lots of breads and coffee.
A bonus was the wine if that's what takes your fancy.
The roof top pool was fantastic the staff were lovely and very welcoming.
The drinks were great and had a very big menu to choose from.
1 thing i would say it was very hot and I asked about the air-conditioning and they said its not the right time of year for it,

Lovely classy hotel, rooms lovely everything you need. Air con, mini fridge, shampoo and body wash in lovely shower area, lovely soft towels. Sea/marina views perfect. Surrounded by bars and restaurants all with great atmospheres, food and service. My husband had his birthday while there surprised by a complimentary bottle of fizz with a lovely message from the hotel. Would definitely recommend

I use the hotel throughout the year.
Was modernised about 6+ years ago.
The rooms are Aparthotel Studio standard. Modern clean and basic
Bed firm. Towels provided. No tea or coffee in room. Shower good.
Accommodation better than most in Fuengirola for the price
Great location

Didn’t read the reviews until I’d booked the holiday, so, we were slightly nervous, didn’t need to be, the place was great. Juan and reception really helpful, the pool bar staff were great. Rooms cleaned daily, housekeeping staff were lovely, so friendly. Location was all you could ask for, close to everything, some cracking bars and restaurant directly behind the hotel. One tip in the downstairs bar, pay for your drinks as you have them, there was some confusion over one bill, but sorted quickly. We will definitely be going back. Great experience thanks Hotel Puerto.

Great hotel, family owned. Looked very traditional, like the old Spanish farm-houses. It had even a pool. The staff was really nice and we had a great room with an adjoining terrace and two sunbeds. The location was close to the railway station, close to stores and to Fuengirola Beach and in the city center. We only had breakfast once. It had many choices but the coffee was not great. We enjoyed very much our stay there and we'll be back as it was a great value for money.

Lovely hotel spotless clean
My heating broke they moved us no issue
Hotel was quite so not always a buffet meal but menu food was lovely
Staff amazing
We sadly didn’t know pool would be closed but it is out of season so we should have expected that
Would definitely go again
A bar would have been nice for a drink of an evening x

Hotel was spotless and rooms cleaned daily. The staff were lovely and always greeted us with a smile. We had buffet breakfast two days and it was excellent. Hotel is above a shopping centre but rooms are very quiet and we had no issues at all. Great location for accessing the beach and bars & restaurants. Will definitely return here when in the area.

I was in August 2023 at this hotel and I was impressed by the typical Spanish friendliness with which I was received and the attention given to the guests. Both the receptionist, as well as the kitchen and cleaning staff, all tried to please us every day. The hotel is very centrally located in the resort, very clean and welcoming. The food was very diverse and tasty (I don't think it was repeated two days in a row). You can get to the beach very quickly and it is very close to the Central Bus and Train station. It is a very good option to consider if you arrive in Fuengirola.

Really nice little hotel just down the road from the beach. Staff were polite and happy to help. Was a little worried about the older visitor photos on a lot of the reviews but it has been updated and looks like the more modern management photos now. Air conditioning was perfect for chilling out after a hot day. They allow vaping / smoking in the open courtyard / balcony area which made the stay much better than other places where you have to walk out of the hotel to the street. I'd say the only thing missing would be vending machines for cold drinks. Think you can buy them at reception though.

Great hotel, rooms clean and a good size everything you need for self catering, pool area big with plenty of sunbeds. The hotel as plenty of amenities, kids play areas, tennis courts, pool tables, arcade . It even as it's own launderette ! Pool snack bar , nighty entertainment . There is also a massive shopping mall two minutes away with every shop you need plus a massive Carrefour hypermarket. The only one down side to all this is that it's about a 25 min walk to the main square where all the bars and restaurants are . But apart from that it's a great hotel .

Rooms are clean and pretty modern.
Hotel food was pretty decent.
The draft beer was flat though..
Hotel has big pool and a football pitch for kids. There is also a games room down stairs with pool tables and other electronic games.
Next door to a mall with a supermarket and anything you need.
Also only Minutes from the beach.
It is is a nice location up next to the castle But it is almost a 20minute walk from all the good nightlife. 7 euro in a taxi.

Stayed here for 11 nights end of October 2025, I had a one bedroom apartment on the 1st floor with the pool view. The apartment was very clean, and well stocked with all the necessary equipment for self catering. Fridge kettle, microwave toaster t pot etc, not that we did any cooking whilst on holiday but younger families may have used them, Maid service is great and towels and bedding changed as per attached photo. Now we had a light breakfast but ate out every night. On our 1st 4 days there was some noise from the live entertainment but this stopped on the last day of the month end of season. These apartments are a very short distance from a main shopping centre with a large Carrefor supermarket -Closed on a Sunday but 9am to 10pm every other day (150 steps away yes I
measured ) We had a lovely view from out apartment looking over the nearby mountains. There is a charge for the safety deposit box . Getting about, if like me you use local bus services, this apartment has the bus stop directly outside the entrance L1 bus takes you to the main bus station and train station in Fuengirola. This town is amazing for its selection of tapas and meat restaurants, I have stayed in torremolinos and benelmadena but in my opinion this is a better location for beach and restaurants. So 5/5 for service and rooms Happy staff and very clean, but for beach lovers you do have very short 5 min walk to the beach. It is a 28 minute walk to Fuengirola Marina that’s for a 66 year male .. For those with younger families the animation team were great with the kids, there is a bar on site and you can pick up breakfast and day snacks, there is a menu on the Q.R. Code on the attached photo, very reasonably priced. Was it good yes. I have already booked to come back

Just checking out today.
Have to say that it was a lovely place to stay. If you're looking for 5 star luxury its not for you, however, if you're looking for a lovely smiling team of staff who will help you in any way they can, then check in. Room is functional but comfy. Food again isn't 5 star but I had the half chicken today and it really was lovely.
Irene in reception, who i only spoke to briefly was just so helpful and gave us a late checkout till 1pm which was very nice.
Bar staff are always smiling and its a breath of fresh air coming from hospitality myself.
Couldn't praise them enough.
Pool is cold but we persevered and enjoyed non the less.
If there was 1 criticism it would be the air-conditioning, didn't work very well at all in room 508, only 1 fan came on and it was rubbish.
Lina Sefrioui
We stayed at Fuengirola Apart Hotel with my family and were honestly impressed.
The apartment was much larger than expected, and the terrace was the real highlight: huge, well laid out, with a view over the pool and even the sea in the distance.
There are plenty of activities for kids, which makes it very family-friendly. On top of that, the location is great just two minutes from the mall, which is extremely convenient.
Overall, a very comfortable and practical place for a family stay. Highly recommended.

A lovely space. From the moment you walk in there is a lovely open reception area. The reception desks, clearly marked and attended with helpful, friendly receptionists. My room was nice and spacious, as was the bathroom. It overlooked the beach so the view from my cozy balcony was stunning of the beach, ocean, pool and town of Fuengirola. The spa, although the indoor pool was a bit small, it has wonderful spas and there was also a small jacuzzi, big enough for 3/4 adults. Downstairs there was a lovely big chill out / treatment area with sauna and stream rooms. It was a beautiful, peaceful space. I could have just chilled there for hours. We used several of the function rooms and they were all very welcoming. The bars were well stocked and breakfast delivered a great selection of breakfast items, even Cava. Amenities close by; this hotel is on a bus route that travels up and down the coast and goes direct to the bus station in Fuengirola. It is also walking distance to great beach restaurants and is lovely walk into the town and old town of Fuengirola. A thoroughly wonderful stay.

I am never one to leave reviews but our experience at Hotel IPV was extraordinary! From check-in to check-out everything was perfect; the staff were extremely kind and caring, the room was spacious, airy and clean with a fantastic view and the amenities were luxurious and readily accessible.
Beach access was so handy for heading into the busier area of town and being only yards away from the beach while lounging by the pool, hearing the waves made us really feel like we were in paradise.
Thank you everyone who made our stay memorable at Hotel IPV, we are looking forward to our next stay :)

Nice hotel on convenient place, less noise than hotels closer to the main promenade. Nice breakfast (up to 5 or 7 days, then it can feel same). Direct on clean beach, very decent gym, fair price. Rooms are a bit out-dated, that’s only thing what can really improve.

We are on the final night of our short break and we have been very happy with this hotel. 1st floor of Mijas part of it, sea view with terrace. Right on the sea front, lovely quiet hotel even though it was busy. Beds are so comfy, rooms spotless and cleaned daily. Breakfast -wow, from usual cold section, to freshly cooked crepes and churros, hot items, breads and pastries galore
Half an hour walk from main part of town for fish alley restaurants and marina area but the walk there and back is lovely as beach all the way.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone.

We are currently staying here and 3 days in to our 4 night stay. Upon arrival the reception staff were helpful and pleasant, there was however, no help in finding our room it was just walk that way and try to find the hidden lift to your floor. The hotel is quite large and it feels like a maze trying to navigate you way around but we found things OK. It is slightly out of the way and to the strip was s ten to fifteen minute stroll. The strip does extend a long way and we had to remind ourselves just how far the walk back would be. There are local buses well priced and easy to use. Next time if we visit again, we will choose somewhere closer to the centre

Nice spot. Great location for beach and public transport options are very good.
Bar is nice. Rooms good size and well serviced.
Breakfast good but evening meal options a big let down. I would go breakfast only if staying here and eat elsewhere at night.

Good location, but the rooms are very old and the washrooms almost broken on every corner. The lift is very slow. No room service, and mostly the receptionist were not friendly at all. Even their Suites look like very economical room. The price which they charge is very high for the quality & service they provide. Not even a single water bottle they provide you in the room. AC is fixed temperature and cannot be changed.

I’ve only used Ilunion as a co-working space, good connection, ample space to work and attentive service. The cafe /bar area has also got an outside terrace whichbis lovely when the sun is out. I’ve also had lunch a few times whilst working, they have a good variety of omelettes, burgers and sandwiches as well as a set menu for those staying at the hotel.
Alex J. Smal
Nice hotel but customer service can improve: I came down to front desk on second day and asked about room service, the attendant just said - no, can’t do it, no explanation why; that was disappointing.
First night I came down to ask about parking, apparently the guy that helped me check in didn’t tell me I have to sign a form for car parking to have the $20 euro daily rate and the hourly rate for much higher.
That plus the fact that ocean view I booked was not available contributed to average experience.
Julius Lehmuskallio
Pretty nice room with a seaview balcony. Breakfast buffet was standard, 16€ since it was not included in my hotels.com deal. A bit of noise coming from other rooms and balconies. The pillows should be upgraded. TV got upgraded during my stay, guess all the rooms have now a large LG. Shower must be taken in a bath tub, not the most convinient thing. Water pressure was ok. Safety box yes, also places where to put clothes and other stuff.

Fantastic hotel. Spotless rooms every day. Very large comfortable bed. Staff very efficient and always polite. Wonderful housekeeping and bar restaurant reception staff are all very polite and hardworking. Foot at breakfast and dinner large selection different every day. Great fitness centre. Food is amazing loved the cava in the morning. There are a lot of bars cafes shops very close to the hotel which also has its own supermarket. All in all wonderfull hotel well worth its star rating. Only thing not so great is that it's a bit far out but there is a bus station and train station within walking distance and taxis are not to expensive depending where you want to go. Just be careful if you ask for return tickets as they don't do them and can be quite expensive. Thank you occidental fuengirola for a wonderful time and to all staff for making our holiday very memorable. Would love to come back next time when visiting fuengirola from rosanne and terry room 714 from scotland

I have traveled the world, and never encountered this type of problem before. I paid for my room in March, and I was at the hotel on May 30, 2026. I was asked to provide the card that I had paid the room with, but I could not do so, because the card was no longer valid. The hotel says that I agreed to that rule when I paid, and of course in March, I had no problem bringing that card with me, but between March and May, Citibank bought out the Aviator card that I paid with. I had been charged the amount on my Aviator
credit card and they acknowledged that the room had been paid for, but because Citibank had bought out the card, I no longer have the card that I used to make the payment.
I ended up having to cancel the payment I’ve already made, and that they had acknowledged receiving, and paid for the room again with a new card. I still don’t know if a refund can even be received by Aviator, the card that was replaced. It was extremely frustrating. The hotel said that this rule was in place due to fraud concerns, but they could clearly see that the payment had been made in March, their computer showed the room was paid, and they had my passport acknowledging that I was who I said I was. Not sure how this new policy prevents any fraud.
In the other complaint, I had with the Hotel, is that the Wi-Fi is so bad that you can’t even stream anything off of your personal device

Lovely hotel. All staff very helpful and polite. Great breakfast buffet. Clean room sadly no sun on balcony. Huge clean pool, with lots of beds and shade, but was very very cold in first week of May. Huge amount of groups of golfers, who mostly weren't a problem, except one rowdy group who got shut down quickly. Right on the seafront, close to everything, easy walk to shopping mall and large supermarket. Lots of great restaurants close by.

We booked a last minute sunshine getaway in January. Rooms are a good size and well stocked with toiletries, mini fridge and hairdryer. Our balcony was a good size and we had a side sea view from our 3rd floor room. Breakfast is amazing and a wide variety of options. All in all great value for money

The hotel is lovely. It is 2-3 minutes' walk from the sea and the rooms are a good size and beautifully clean. The staff are all really helpful, without being fawning, and there is always someone around to answer any questions.
We were half board and there was a huge variety of good quality, delicious food available at mealtimes. If you are hungry in between, the Lobby Bar has really tasty food and drink at competitive prices.
We were very impressed and would definitely go again....
Things to see and do on Fuengirola holidays
With over 5 miles of long sandy beaches in which to lay down your towel, don your shades and pull out the sun cream, Fuengirola is pretty much the ultimate beach holiday. Snorkelling and scuba diving off the Spanish shores are a popular activity on Fuengirola holidays, with jet-skiing and parasailing appealing to those after a real adrenalin rush. Stretching from Sohail Castle to Torreblanca, there is ample space in which to bask in the suns glorious rays.
Excellent as a base to explore surrounding areas, Fuengirola offers day trips to the nearby Rock of Gibraltar separating Europe and Africa or the pretty village of Mijas offering Spanish authenticity and a sense of timelessness. Visit the traditional bullring and the wonderful sights of the age old whitewashed village customs, sample some traditional dishes and stop off for a beer or two whilst there. Fuengirola holidays offer relaxation and fun for all the family.
