We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Stella Blue Seaside Resort and would happily return.
The views are simply stunning, the hotel is spotless throughout, and every member of staff we encountered was incredibly friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. The food was also excellent, with plenty of choice and something different every day, so it never felt repetitive.
Before travelling, we’d read a few reviews mentioning a lack of sun loungers, but that wasn’t our experience at all. As long as you were around the pool by about 10am, there were still plenty of loungers available, so we never had any issues finding somewhere to relax.
A special mention has to go to the amazing barman at Anima by the smaller pool. He made our holiday even better with his warm personality, friendly service and genuine enthusiasm every day. He’s a real credit to the hotel and made everyone feel welcome.
Overall, Stella Blue Seaside Resort exceeded our expectations. Beautiful surroundings, fantastic food, impeccable cleanliness and exceptional staff made for a wonderful holiday. Highly recommended!

At first glance this hotel looks beautiful, the pool area looked really nice and we received a lovely greeting. We found most of the staff there very friendly and polite. All the time we were there the snack bar by the pool wasn’t open due to the weather, however a bit of wind shouldn’t have affected that. We were All Inclusive and even though there was plenty of choice of food in the one restaurant, most of the time it was cold (pizza, beans etc).
The cleaning in our room left a lot to be desired. When we arrived we had to get them to change the sheets because there were insects crawling on them, they never filled the coffee/milk up I had to ask for more everyday and they hardly cleaned the surfaces or floors.
The pool area was lovely, however when we arrived on the 30th March right until a few days before we left the pool was never cleaned, even after the sandstorm. There was lots of sand in the pool and it wasn’t nice.
The drinks we had were really nice, including cocktails and wine.
There wasn’t anything to do around the hotel because everything was shut and it was quite a walk. The beach across the road wasn’t the nicest.
They didn’t have any activities going on during the day (which was advertised) and weirdly the entertainment at night, which was just music playing or a singer, was in the reception area and there wasn’t enough seating. Normally hotels, especially 4 star ones have another room for entertainment and we didn’t expect much but it could have been better and not so repetitive.

It’s a really nice hotel with beautiful pools, comfortable rooms and a hardworking, friendly staff. The resort is modern, well-maintained and offers nice extras such as a gym, reformer Pilates classes and a small on-site supermarket. I also enjoyed the à la carte lunch restaurants, which were a great alternative to the buffet.
Overall, I would rate my stay 4 out of 5 stars. There are a few areas that could be improved. The hotel is quite secluded, so there isn’t much to do nearby, and I think more entertainment options would be a great addition. The sunbed reservation policy is not well enforced, with many guests leaving towels unattended for hours. The buffet food was generally good but often served only lukewarm, and I would love to see less sweet or sugar-free cocktail options.
Despite these minor issues, I had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend Stella Blue Seaside to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation with beautiful views and great facilities.

The most amazing 10 day stay at Stella Blue. All staff went above and beyond to make the stay as comfortable/ enjoyable as possible. In particular Maria and Yiannis Moulkiotis who were both incredible and very friendly. We stayed in the luxe pool view room which was a lovely room, great size, fully stocked fridge daily and very clean.
Food was outstanding. So many options throughout the day with 3 options for lunch and 4 options for evening meal. Food was of a very high quality, our favourite place to eat lunch was the anima bar which served a selection of Asian food including fresh sushi everyday. I would say in the buffer area it was definitely quality over quantity (not a great deal to choose if you’re a fussy eater).
Entertainment- Great some nights but not a lot going on other nights. We really enjoyed the beach party on a Thursday dj was great.
Location- beach was a 5 second walk from the hotel.
- about a 15 minute walk to restaurants, shops etc. However not a lot near by but taxi/public bus to either Heraklion town or Heronisis reasonably priced and about 15- 20 minutes to each.
We used an app called FreeNow which is the equivalent to uber in the Uk.
Also about a 5 minute walk left out the hotel down to the yellow barrier you will find a lake with lots of turtles. The restaurant by the lake sells bread for €1 so you can feed them. Would definitely recommend this.
Overall outstanding hotel and will definitely be returning. Thankyou.
