The hotel looks very nice at the first glance! But it comes with several disadvantages considering the price tag of over EUR 500 per day during the high season.
But first of all I have to give a high five to the staff! Great and very friendly people, from receptionist to the cleaning staff. All are really attentive and they also seem to work there with joy. They made us feel comfortable!
Now the bad things:
1. It‘s next to a kind of natural lake which is part of the ecological ecosystem in that region. Very nice indeed, as well as for mosquitoes! Being on the balcony or terrace in the evening is a kind of bad idea.
2. Due to these extensive lakes nearby it’s very humid. All of our clothes were clammy, even in the rooms.
3. The AC can’t handle the humidity and smells funny, even in the main building.
4. It’s a pure family (with small children) hotel, and therefore very noisy during the day. It’s not advertised like that but they even do animations for the kids many times per day. It felt like being in a family resort like Robinson with all the good and bad things. You may want to reconsider if your kids are a bit older.
5. It’s very noisy in the rooms on the ground floor during the day, especially in the morning, because everyone from the block is passing by your room to the breakfast restaurant. The children are yelling and running, nobody seems to care that there might be other people with a different agenda (like not having breakfast at 09:00 AM when on vacation).
6. The gym is very nice but it’s cooled down so much that we had to stop exercising after five minutes because it didn’t feel safe. It’s really chilly and it didn’t get any better after asking to adjust the temperature. I really don’t know why they cool it down so much, it’s simply not healthy when it’s 35 degrees outside.
7. The food in the restaurant looks very good but it tastes like an average buffet. We‘ve had much better ones in cheaper hotels. I would recommend to focus on quality over quantity. For example, Sushi is not a big piece of rice with a tiny piece if fish. If you need to search for the fish, it’s fishing.

We stayed at Prinsotel La Dorada for 4 nights on a half-board basis. As a family with a child, we truly appreciated how child-friendly the hotel is. There are several pools, including a dedicated one with toys and water features for kids, as well as a mini club and daily activities. These make it a great choice for families, though be aware that the hotel is understandably very child-oriented and often quite busy.
The rooms are modern and recently renovated, especially the bathrooms, and the overall design and landscaping of the hotel are really well done.
The main downside for us was the food. While it’s understandable that some dishes might be reused, the overall quality and flavor were unfortunately quite disappointing. We found ourselves eating simply not to go hungry, which was a shame given the otherwise nice setting.
Staff were not particularly warm, but we assume this may be due to the demanding nature of the job, especially during the high season.
All in all, while there are definitely strong points , especially for families, it’s probably not a place we would return to.

Great hotel for families. Big pool area for children, spacious rooms, lovely staff and wide range breakfast buffet.
Our kids had some fun in the kids disco and participated in a few activities during the day as the rest of the time we spent in the beach. They loved it.
Very close to a nice beach.

A very pleasant family hotel with friendly service and nice modern rooms. The territory is also very green and beautiful. We liked the pools also, the territory is well-thought and even when the hotel is full there’s still the feeling of privacy. The kids pools and animations are nice as well. There were though some minor problems with the room, like water leaking in the bathroom and broken lock which were taken care of very fast. The thing that could be improved in my opinion is the food. Although there’s great selection of dishes not everything tastes good. Some of the food was too salty, some of it lacked salt or was a bit overcooked. Still, overall the hotel left good impression and we’d return here again. :)

And My stars go to hotel entertainment team! They are really great! Thank you team and the Froggy:) we loved the mini disco party!
Also the restaurant buffet is amazing !!!
They have various food options - healthy and different every day! Also there were theme nights like Thai night or fish night etc …
We were pleasantly surprised (honestly close to fine dining experience!).
Rooms were simple but very clean and towels changed daily and free water bottles in the rooms (not in the restaurant).
