Location is absolutely great, literally across the path to the beach. Plenty of bars/restaurants nearby.
Hotel itself grand, lots of history and interesting. Enjoyed the restaurant experience.
There are some renovations taking place and the main pool was closed for the duration of our stay but to be honest at the time of year doubtful we'd have spent much time in it regardless.
Would definitely return!

Let me share a story.
We stayed on a half-board basis at the end of December, and we were told that there would be a “special dinner” on December 31st. As usual, we went out of our room in comfortable, casual clothes to have dinner—only to be very surprised. All the European guests were dressed up in elegant suits and beautiful dresses, clearly enjoying a party atmosphere. As Asians, we weren’t familiar with this kind of culture, and honestly, we felt a bit embarrassed.
On top of that, our 4-year-old child was approaching bedtime. Wearing rather unfancy clothes, we asked a staff member, “Our child is about to fall asleep, and we’re not very well dressed. Would it be possible to have a little food to eat in our room?”
The staff member replied, “Don’t worry about your clothes at all. We’ll prepare the food for you.”
After waiting just a few minutes, we were amazed. They prepared the full four-course meal—soup, fish, meat, and dessert—for the three of us, incredibly quickly. Even though we had already paid for half board, they really didn’t have to make such an exceptional accommodation. We had only expected something simple, like a small portion of fries or some chicken. We felt deeply grateful for their kindness and consideration.
In addition, the regular half-board meals were generally excellent, and the snacks in the suite lounge were also quite good.
Of course, there were a few minor downsides. Some of the facilities felt a bit dated, and for cost-saving reasons, the showerhead and sink drainage pipes were made of plastic. However, this was not a major issue—the cleanliness and good maintenance more than made up for the age of the facilities.

Just returned from a 2 nights stay with my husband for his birthday.
We were really impressed with this hotel. It is classic in a good way, spotlessly clean and in a perfect location between Benalmedena marina and Torremolinos.
We paid for a superior room with a sea view and it was excellent. The view was gorgeous, the bed was huge and super comfy with great pillows and all the extras thrown in. We got a surprise knock at the door with a bottle of fizz and a cake for my husband’s birthday too which was a really lovely touch.
The breakfast was good and varied. The pool area has plenty of sun loungers but we spent most of our time in one of the beach bars across the promenade as there’s so many to chose from and they’re very chilled out etc.The back streets have some lovely restaurants too, there is so much to chose from. The beaches are pretty too with palm trees and the sea had some fun waves!
My only niggle would be not having access to a shower room after check out. We didn’t fly until late evening so it made it difficult trying to change etc in the luggage room and this is not something I’ve experienced before. There was also no option to pay for room to keep on.
All in all a great stay and will certainly return.

We will start by saying this was our 6th Christmas 🎄/New Year🕛🎊 at the Pez Espada - so the hotel is clearly doing something right 😊
We took part in the Christmas Gala and New Year celebrations - however we did not receive any information as to the menu for both meals as in previous years when we have had the information in a leaflet left in our room - this caused an issue when on the Christmas night the main course was Lamb which my husband does not eat - we called a waitress over and explained the issue - she in turn called over the lady in charge we presumed - after explaining to her she asked our room number? but did say they would bring something else - they bought my husband a piece of meat which was clearly veal !! no sauce or anything - also a meat he does not eat - we did not bother to ask again - we felt that if we had known as before what the menu would be , we would have said something at reception before the night - we also felt that Lamb was an odd choice for the main course as not to a lot of people's liking.
However we thought that New Year was the best that we have had at the Pez 🥳 the food was excellent unlike the Christmas Gala - the atmosphere with everyone was great and the staff joined in too !! We liked being in the dining room which was less formal than the area where we had the Christmas meal.
The hotel continues to have the warm, cosy, friendly feel that we have enjoyed in the past 6 years - but we do think our bathroom needed a little TLC 😊
Staff brilliant as always 😊
Entertainment good 😊
Food very good 👍 😊
Look forward to Christmas 🎄/New Year 2026 🕛 🎊 at the Pez Espada 😊

We had a wonderful stay at pez espada. Excellent beachfront location, excellent service from waiters and cleaning staff who cleaned our room. Our room was nice, bed was very comfortable but our room was a little tired in places but it was very clean. Also a good selection of for for breakfast and dinner
