Let me share a story.
We stayed on a half-board basis at the end of December, and we were told that there would be a “special dinner” on December 31st. As usual, we went out of our room in comfortable, casual clothes to have dinner—only to be very surprised. All the European guests were dressed up in elegant suits and beautiful dresses, clearly enjoying a party atmosphere. As Asians, we weren’t familiar with this kind of culture, and honestly, we felt a bit embarrassed.
On top of that, our 4-year-old child was approaching bedtime. Wearing rather unfancy clothes, we asked a staff member, “Our child is about to fall asleep, and we’re not very well dressed. Would it be possible to have a little food to eat in our room?”
The staff member replied, “Don’t worry about your clothes at all. We’ll prepare the food for you.”
After waiting just a few minutes, we were amazed. They prepared the full four-course meal—soup, fish, meat, and dessert—for the three of us, incredibly quickly. Even though we had already paid for half board, they really didn’t have to make such an exceptional accommodation. We had only expected something simple, like a small portion of fries or some chicken. We felt deeply grateful for their kindness and consideration.
In addition, the regular half-board meals were generally excellent, and the snacks in the suite lounge were also quite good.
Of course, there were a few minor downsides. Some of the facilities felt a bit dated, and for cost-saving reasons, the showerhead and sink drainage pipes were made of plastic. However, this was not a major issue—the cleanliness and good maintenance more than made up for the age of the facilities.

Just returned from a 2 nights stay with my husband for his birthday.
We were really impressed with this hotel. It is classic in a good way, spotlessly clean and in a perfect location between Benalmedena marina and Torremolinos.
We paid for a superior room with a sea view and it was excellent. The view was gorgeous, the bed was huge and super comfy with great pillows and all the extras thrown in. We got a surprise knock at the door with a bottle of fizz and a cake for my husband’s birthday too which was a really lovely touch.
The breakfast was good and varied. The pool area has plenty of sun loungers but we spent most of our time in one of the beach bars across the promenade as there’s so many to chose from and they’re very chilled out etc.The back streets have some lovely restaurants too, there is so much to chose from. The beaches are pretty too with palm trees and the sea had some fun waves!
My only niggle would be not having access to a shower room after check out. We didn’t fly until late evening so it made it difficult trying to change etc in the luggage room and this is not something I’ve experienced before. There was also no option to pay for room to keep on.
All in all a great stay and will certainly return.

Booked four Junior Suites Beach Front for myself and family for two weeks in August 2024 and again 2025, everyone enjoyed the stay, good food and service very good, location excellent and entertainment good also.
Pool area was good for children as it is mostly in the shade between the two apartment blocks.
Only issue for me was the seating on the balconies of the Junior Suites which comprised of some uncomfortable deck chairs which were not easy to get in and out of. I would say most people would only use the balconies (other than the jaccuzi) in the evenings so more comfortable seating would be more than welcome rather than the deck chairs.

Great hotel nice and clean with excellent location and great food, the downside for us personally is they use the Triple Sheet Method?
Many hotels and short-term rentals use a triple-sheeting method, which involves:
A bottom sheet over the mattress.
A duvet or blanket sandwiched between two additional flat sheets.
A third decorative sheet or light covering on top.
The idea is that this method reduces how often the duvet needs to be washed. However, I believe this is a flawed system that doesn’t prioritize guest hygiene.
Why Triple Sheeting Is NOT Truly Clean
1. The duvet Isn’t Washed Every Time
Let’s be honest—many hotels and rentals do not wash their duvets between guests. The triple sheet method hides the fact that the middle layer isn’t clean.
While the sheets are changed, the duvet itself may have lingering sweat, bacteria, and even skin cells from multiple guests.
2. It’s Nearly Impossible for Guests to Avoid Touching the Dirty duvet
No matter how well the triple sheets are tucked, guests will eventually shift them in their sleep.
Most people unconsciously pull up covers at night, meaning they will likely touch a duvet that hasn’t been washed.
The idea of sleeping under (or touching) an unwashed duvet from a stranger is simply not sanitary. The was a stain on our duvet from a previous guest,I did complain but they said that they don't use duvet covers so I went out and bought my own, two singles one for each bed to encase the duvet

We had a wonderful stay at pez espada. Excellent beachfront location, excellent service from waiters and cleaning staff who cleaned our room. Our room was nice, bed was very comfortable but our room was a little tired in places but it was very clean. Also a good selection of for for breakfast and dinner
