We spent 7 nights in mid-June at this beautiful peninsula-like resort that rivals the most exclusive botanical gardens. Upon arrival, our reservation was upgraded, so the location of our accommodation immediately surpassed our basic expectations. Our apartment was clean, air-conditioned, and properly maintained. All-inclusive service was smooth, versatile, and satisfied the expectations of several nations, both in terms of drinks and food. We were lucky enough to try the Safran Italian restaurant and the Seasalt and rosemary restaurants, which provided a special gastronomic experience in addition to the view. The resort has multiple great pools and pool bars, and good shopping center. Before our departure, we also tried the SPA department, which needs some renovation, but the quality of the service provided there compensated for this. This resort is an excellent option for couples looking to relax, as well as families with children. Absolutely reccomended!

The hotel was wonderful. It’s huge, yet it feels like a charming little village. Despite its size, it never felt crowded, and we never had any trouble finding sunbeds at any time of the day—although we visited at the end of June.
The food was very good overall, with breakfast being the only meal that could have offered a bit more variety.
The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained. We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment with a garden and a shared pool, which was shared with just two other rooms.
The pools are amazing, especially the ones with the water slides for children. The beautiful natural surroundings provide plenty of shade, making the pool areas even more enjoyable.
The beach is stunning, with crystal-clear water and tiny pebbles and sand mix.
The à la carte restaurants are a nice change of scenery and offer excellent service, although the food is quite similar to what is served in the main restaurant.
The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and wonderful with children. A special thank you to Eva at the Safran Restaurant and Sofia at the Red Pepper Restaurant, who made our stay even more enjoyable.

We just came back from this resort today. As conclusion, it is not a 5*.
Pro:
- the outside, gardens, plants, flowers, beach, are very nice; a joy to walk through the resort on the alleys.
- the food is good, various with taste
- communication with the reception was OK, and everything was solved after discussions with them
- the personnel from the beach bar and at the pool very friendly and polite
- there are 2 beaches (1 private + 1 public) quite small but cosy
- the Rosemary restaurant (a la carte) is very beautiful, with great sea view
Cons:
- rooms needs renovation --> very bad smell
- kids club needs huge renovation
- kids accessories are closed after 18 PM so after this hour they don't have where to play
- drinks are horrible, very bad taste (They use soda straight from a hose for the cocktails)
- the gym looks like after a war
- after 6 PM when the bar is closing, they take also the water bottle inside, so if you want to stay more at the pool/ beach you don't have water anymore
- for juices, for kids you have to pay extra, otherwise you will get juice but with bubbles and very bad taste
As conclusion if the renovation will happen it will be a great hotel.

Great and huge Resort with excellent service. 100% top notch service, located in a huge area, very good quality of rooms, nice and friendly receptionist and an excellent Guest Relation manager. The guest relation manager was able to convert our experience from good to very good with her extra effort and I must mention, hats off to the room cleaners, I have never seen such clean rooms in any other hotel. Good swimming pools and private beach and a gym that is 24/7 open. Very good experience as a whole. May be a little bit more activity areas for kids playing and a little bit less option food options for non meat eaters which was eventually solved by the initiatives by the guest relationship manager.

Out of the Blue Resort – Overall Review
Location and facilities
The resort is well located in a lush, green area with direct access to the sea. It is a large property offering many types of accommodation, including rooms with or without sea views, as well as private villas.
There are several swimming pools throughout the resort, including a children’s pool area with small water slides. Bars are conveniently located near most of the pools.
The private beach has clean water and consists partly of pebbles and partly of sand. Guests staying in the private villas also have access to a dedicated beach area.
The buildings are generally in acceptable condition, although some parts of the resort would benefit from renovation, repairs, and better maintenance.
Food
The food was good and tasty. The buffet was not particularly large, but it was reasonably well organized and offered enough variety to cover most guests’ needs.
We also had two à la carte dinners included in our package. We chose the Greek restaurant and wanted to visit the Italian restaurant as well. The dining experiences at both restaurants were pleasant, and the Italian restaurant has an especially beautiful location directly above the sea. Photos of the menus are attached to the review.
Service and room issues
Unfortunately, we experienced some problems upon arrival.
Our package was advertised and paid for as Ultra All Inclusive with a sea-view room. However, when we arrived, we were initially told that no such room was available, even though the sea view was clearly stated in our contract, booking confirmation, and invoice from the travel agency.
After lengthy discussions between the hotel and our agency, we eventually received the room we had paid for, but we had to wait approximately four hours at reception.
We also encountered a problem with the à la carte restaurant reservations. Our package included two dinners chosen from the resort’s three restaurants. We selected the Greek restaurant and wanted the Italian one as our second choice, but we were initially told that there was no availability during our stay. This was difficult to understand, considering that the package had been sold with the option of choosing two restaurants out of three.
The staff member handling the reservation was not particularly friendly. However, after discussing the matter with the manager, Nikos, who was helpful and approachable, a table was eventually found for us at the Italian restaurant.
Minibar
Another disappointing aspect was the minibar. It contained only two 500 ml bottles of still water and one bottle of Greek wine, even though there were three guests staying in the room.
Even more surprising, the minibar was scheduled to be refilled only once every seven days.
The resort does provide drinking-water stations in several locations and also has an on-site shop, so we adapted, but this is still not what I would expect from an Ultra All Inclusive package.
Spa and fitness room
The resort also has a spa, which we did not use, and a fitness room where I continued my usual workout routine.
Unfortunately, the gym was poorly equipped, and one of the few available machines was not working.
Late check-out
As our flight home was in the evening, we were able to arrange a late check-out until 6:00 p.m. for an additional charge of €100.
Conclusion
Overall, I would recommend the resort for its beautiful setting, direct access to the sea, greenery, food, pleasant climate, and convenient location approximately 30 minutes from Heraklion Airport.
However, there are clear shortcomings in terms of service, maintenance, and the attitude of some staff members. The most disappointing issues were the initial failure to provide the sea-view room that had already been booked and paid for, and the difficulty in securing the included reservation at the Italian restaurant.
I therefore recommend the resort with some caution and advise guests to check all booking conditions carefully and ensure that every important detail is clearly confirmed in writing before arrival.
