What and absolutely beautiful place this is, along with friendly helpful staff! Just spend 2 amazing weeks there celebrating my 60th birthday. Everything from arriving to leaving was perfect. The atmosphere is so relaxed, the food was lovely the speciality restaurants are a must to visit, we ate at the Italian and the Greek ones, we enjoyed them so much we ate a 2nd time at both. The scenery is beautiful, not only in the hotel grounds but beyond. Would we go back? In a heartbeat

Absolutely everything in this hotel is perfect! The food is simply outstanding – always fresh, delicious, and prepared to the highest standards. Every meal feels like fine dining! The variety is incredible, and the late dinner service until 12:30 AM is such a great bonus.
The restaurant staff deserve special praise – they are truly amazing! So kind, professional, and always smiling. The service is beyond excellent – they make every guest feel special and well taken care of.
The atmosphere is wonderful, the reception is always helpful and friendly, and everything here is top quality. Without a doubt, this is the best hotel in Crete! Highly, highly recommended!

Disappointing. As others say more a 3/4 star hotel. Rooms were shabby and lacked maintenance such as door handles loose, patio doors not shutting correctly allowing draughts and skirting boards hanging off etc. Bathrooms were unfinished, no silicone around basement and tiled edges etc. showers sprayed all over the bathrooms making the rooms very slippery and requiring every towel we had each day to mop up. Maintenance tried to fix it but to no avail. The ‘entertainment’ was some of the worst i have ever seen. A couple of better ones but no real place to watch such as a stage etc. Often outdoors and people pulling up plastic chairs. The food to be fair was perhaps the best I have seen in an all inclusive. Something for everyone with out side bbq chefs and the pre booked Italian restaurant was also very good. The private beach is all small stones (no sand) which leave you pebble dashed if wet feet which some won’t like. However a great place for snorkeling if that’s your thing. A short walk to the local shops where there are a few bars, restaurants, supermarkets etc. There is a bus outside that takes you to Heraklion but it wasn’t reliable and 45 euro taxi to get back… Everything in those hotel is spread out and up some steep hills so perhaps not good for the elderly or disabled. We booked a cottage but were given an ‘upgraded room’. I wouldn’t like to see what the standard room looks like…

We chose this hotel because of its beautiful natural surroundings and great location – which turned out to be the only truly positive aspect of the entire stay. Unfortunately, everything else was a major disappointment.
The hotel advertises itself as a 5-star property, but in reality, it doesn’t meet even a 3-star standard. The photos online are misleading – they look nice but don’t reflect the actual condition of the place. For this reason, we are attaching real photos showing the true state of the hotel.
⸻
🧼 Cleanliness and Room Maintenance:
• Floors were mopped daily, but only superficially – even on the first day, our socks turned black after just 5 minutes.
• Sinks and bathroom fixtures were cleaned only on the surface.
• The toilet seat in our room was broken.
• Shower gel and shampoo were not refilled until we disassembled the dispensers ourselves. Only then, upon request, were they replenished by housekeeping.
• Mirrors in the room were rusty and unmaintained.
• The minibar was not restocked daily, contrary to what the tour operator claimed. It was only done upon guest request.
⸻
🚽 Public Toilets:
• Toilets near the main restaurant were in poor, dirty, and partly rusted condition.
• The gym toilet was in terrible shape – basically just an unfinished wall and no usable mirror.
• Beach toilets were in extremely unsanitary condition.
⸻
🏖️ Pools, Surroundings, and Sunbeds:
• Pools were unsanitary, with blackened walls, missing tiles, and general grime.
• The kids’ pool was dirty and the painted surface was peeling.
• Sunbeds were torn – some were completely unusable.
⸻
👶 Children’s Entertainment:
• The only activity for children after 6 p.m. was a short 30-minute mini disco.
• After 6 p.m., there were no activities for kids at all. Pools with slides closed at 5:45 p.m., and the playroom and other facilities were also shut down by 6 p.m.
⸻
🍽️ Food:
• The food was decent, but extremely repetitive – the same choices every day, which became boring quickly.
⸻
💶 Extra Charges:
• We were not informed in advance about additional charges.
• Upon arrival, we were required to pay €35 per person, including for a 4-year-old child, which seemed unreasonable.
⸻
📸 Conclusion:
This hotel does not meet the standards of a 5-star resort. The maintenance of both outdoor and indoor areas is clearly lacking, with many facilities left damaged or neglected – and in some cases, even unsafe.
Beautiful nature and good weather were the only redeeming factors – but you can find that even in a more modest, cheaper hotel without the misleading 5★ label.

This is a gem of a place. It has differing degrees of packages to suit. I and my wife were basic all inclusive and ALL the staff were amazing. I highly recommend staying here. Christina in reception is very helpful. We also recommend the spa package. We had the Cretan massage. AMAZING. Thanks to Jenny and Caterina for their help. Also a special shout out to Giorgos the buggy driver and Demetrius, the local taxi driver of 35 years who helped locate our lost luggage at the airport. The boys from PhotoHotel did a great job on our tailored photos shoot. Memories for life. All the staff went above and beyond. Thank you all.
