Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had in all my travels.
I booked the room last minute, but that should not justify the condition it was in. The room was extremely dirty. There was dirt and dust everywhere, the bathroom was not properly cleaned, and I even found other people's hair throughout the room. There were also flies constantly flying around as if something had died there.
The towels were so old and worn out that they were almost transparent. The worst part, however, was the strong smell of cigarette smoke in the room. It was unbearable and made it very uncomfortable to stay there.
I tried to keep the air conditioning on during the night just to have some fresh air, but that was not possible because it was extremely noisy.
The only positives were the location and a decent breakfast. However, the breakfast offered very few vegetables, only cucumbers and lettuce.

I had a wonderful stay at ILUNION. The staff were warm, professional, and always ready to help, which made the whole experience very welcoming. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, with thoughtful touches that added to the overall quality of the stay.
The hotel’s atmosphere was relaxing, breakfast was fresh and varied, and everything felt well-organized. I also appreciated ILUNION’s strong commitment to accessibility and inclusion.
Overall, a great place to stay for both business and leisure. Highly recommended!

Nothing but positive things to say about our stay at Hotel ILUNION Málaga. Our room was modern, clean, and spacious, with comfortable bedding and thoughtful details throughout. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. Location was perfect — close to the train station, the waterfront, and a somewhat easy walk to the city center. Breakfast had a great variety and high quality options. Gym, spa, and pool area were all excellent and not overcrowded. Overall, a smooth, relaxing experience. Highly recommend.

There were good reviews on Google and we booked in. The room was very dirty on the floor and there were food and peanut residue from other people, and there were brown stains on the toilet. We showed it to the reception and she tried to give us the same room and said "I've been there and it was clean". We mentioned the pictures and she gave us a new room in the end. Very annoying! We went in and had to clean the toilet there with antibacterial agent that we brought! It should never be like that you have to clean the toilet after others. It ruined a whole day for us!
Breakfast was very good. Very varied. Polite staff there. But there are dirty plates and cups, I think it's because there are a lot of people so they don't have time to clean?
Nice cleaners and gentle. But we asked for a towel, and she gave us a towel with the same gloves that she used to clean the toilet next door... The swimming pool was absolutely ok. Otherwise we saw two silverfish in the hotel. Apart from this the location was good and the hotel is nice from the outside, and big hotel. Big rooms. But for me cleanliness and polite welcome are more important. Never this place again. Never.

The hotel is located in a port area. It is not the most suitable place to stay in Málaga if your intention is to explore everything on foot. The neighborhood also did not seem particularly safe for walking at night.
The room was good and met the standard expected from a 4-star hotel. The breakfast area, however, felt somewhat cramped for the number of guests and was constantly overcrowded — depending on the time, there was even a waiting line. On the positive side, there were good hot food options and gluten-free bread available.
The parking was located within the hotel itself, which was very convenient.
If your goal is to fully experience Málaga’s historic area with easy walking access, I would choose to stay somewhere else.
