On arrival we were warmly greeted and offered a drink. Once checked in our luggage was taken to our room for us.
The hotel is situated next to the main promenade and offers direct access to it and has lovely sea views whilst remaining quiet and secluded.
The included breakfast was amazing and offered a huge choice of cold, cooked food and an egg bar offering freshly prepared fried eggs, bacon, omelettes and pancakes.
Evening entertainment in the bar between 9.30 and 10.30 was varied, of a good standard and well attended.
This is an older hotel that has been refurbished, the rooms are slightly small but ALL the staff were really helpful and made our stay first class, they accommodated our requests with a smile, they really are one of the hotels greatest assets.

Original review below. However I have to edit this as we encountered an issue at the end of the holiday.
You have to be out of your room by 12 noon on the day of departure, we offered to pay to keep tje room as our pickup isn't till 6.50pm.
They couldn't do that but said we could book a room for 30 minutes to shower and change. But when the time came, no room, so they sent us down into a basement fitness room, and many steps, with our suitcases, i am 68, I have pulmonary fibrosis and arthritis in most of my joints. There are 2 mens showers 1 worked, 2 women's showers, neither worked. No air conditioning down there and it's hot.
So all in all we were just as hot and sweaty as before we went to the shower
So this review below I take back !!!
Best hotel I've stayed in abroad, rooms are lovely, the staff helpfully and cheerful.
Breakfast is the best of Amy hotel, bacon just like home.
On the downside, the aircon in the bedrooms are very poor, it hard to get tje room cool, all windows closed and on full blast, other guests say the same, some complained of low water pressure on taps ans shower. Our shower was fine
I also don't care for the hotel system of charging for all drinks and paying at thr end of the holiday, you may get a shock.

This hotel was such a gem of a find, I almost don't want to share it!
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.
The hotel is immaculately clean.
It's a beautiful little oasis with a cozy pool area and lovely restaurants and a cafe.
Completely relaxing.
And just outside the door, you are on the promenade where you can walk to shops, the beach and other restaurants.
Honestly, I can't say anything bad about my stay here. I will definitely be back!

Perfect hotel right on promenade. We had a sea view room with balcony & loungers. All the staff we encountered were very friendly & helpful. Breakfasts were very good, but struggled to find something decent at dinner, [not very appealing]. The market on Tuesday & Sunday is literally a 2min walk away as are plenty of cafe's & bars.

I think looking at the latest reviews I must have stayed at another hotel. On retuning here after 3 year gap i was really expecting good things however the hotel has gone down in my opinion the food is at best average and at worst inedible.
The decor is in dire need of a good refresh and is still the same as 3 years ago. On previous visit a man with a paint brush was going around to touch in any marks not so now !
I visited H10 Conquistador and spoke to a guest who recommended it for its food. I remember the last time at Big Sur always having steak on offer it is offered at Conquistador but at Big Sur you are offered mixed meat burgers. For a boutique hotel this is not good enough. Breakfast is served with bacon that can only described as brittle.
I certainly will not be back after I raised concern with reception about the food they didn’t even have the courtesy to reply.
No mention of work being carried out by the pool so sun loungers packed like sardines. I don’t often leave reviews but felt very very unhappy with the holiday so there are 4 of us who will not return.
