⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 – Excellent hotel, disappointing island
We had a fantastic stay at Grand Blue Beach Hotel and would definitely recommend it.
The hotel itself is modern, clean, and very well maintained. Our room was spacious, newly renovated, and spotless. Housekeeping did an excellent job every day, and the entire property felt fresh and comfortable. The hotel offers beautiful sea views, relaxing common areas, and a pleasant atmosphere.
The food was good with plenty of variety, and the drinks were perfectly fine for an all-inclusive resort. The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional throughout our stay.
The only downside of the hotel was the Wi-Fi. It worked reasonably well in the public areas, but in our room it was slow, unstable, and frequently disconnected, especially during the evenings. Hopefully, this is something the hotel will improve in the future.
Despite this, I still rate the hotel 5/5 because everything else exceeded our expectations.
Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was Kos Island itself, especially the area around the hotel. The beaches and even the sea were heavily polluted with plastic bottles, cans, and other rubbish. While snorkeling directly in front of the hotel, I couldn't ignore the amount of trash underwater, so I actually collected it myself and threw it into the nearest bins.
The local infrastructure is also in poor condition. We saw huge holes in the roads that could easily damage a car, collapsed sidewalks along the coastline, and many signs of neglect. It was surprising to see these conditions in such a popular tourist destination.
That said, there was one thing that really impressed us. Despite the litter, the underwater world was absolutely beautiful. The beach next to the hotel is rocky rather than sandy, which makes it an excellent place for snorkeling. We saw many different species of fish and other marine life, making every snorkeling session enjoyable and full of surprises. If you prefer swimming from a sandy beach, there is one just a short walk away, but for snorkeling, the rocky beach is definitely a big advantage.
So, if you're considering this hotel:
Hotel: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (excellent)
Kos Island (surrounding area): disappointing because of the pollution and poor infrastructure, although the underwater life is surprisingly rich and beautiful.
Grand Blue Beach Hotel truly deserves 5/5, and I would happily stay there again. I just hope the local authorities invest more effort into cleaning the beaches and the sea, repairing the damaged roads and sidewalks, and protecting the island's natural beauty, because Kos has incredible potential that is unfortunately overshadowed by pollution and neglected infrastructure.

We’ve just come back from 4 nights at the Grand Blue Hotel in Kardamena, Kos, and honestly, we only have good things to say about it. We had such a great experience and would definitely recommend this hotel!
First of all, the location is perfect — only 15 minutes from the airport, which made everything so easy and stress-free from the moment we arrived.
The hotel itself is huge, beautiful, and has amazing sea views. We stayed in a spacious suite with a balcony overlooking the sea, and waking up to that view every morning was lovely.
One of the best parts was definitely the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, smiling all the time, approachable, and genuinely helpful. You can really feel the good atmosphere there.
And the food… honestly, as a chef myself, I can be quite picky with food, but I genuinely have nothing to complain about. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all buffet style with so many options, and everything we tried was delicious. I ate very, very well! The all inclusive is great — snacks, sandwiches, cakes, drinks… you can basically eat and drink all day long.
The pools are fantastic too, the one almost right in front of the beach, with live music at night, really nice atmosphere. And if you walk a little further along the beach, you’ll find a lovely sandy area perfect for swimming in the sea. Definitely worth it!
Another thing we loved is that the hotel is only around a 10-minute walk from Kardamena town( we always back by taxi- 7€) which is such a cute little place full of shops, restaurants, bars, supermarkets(close at 11pm) and boats by the marina. It’s hard to believe somewhere so charming is just a short walk away.
We also highly recommend eating at Vicolo Pizza — absolutely delicious!
The only small thing to mention is that the hotel is built on a hillside, so there is a bit of walking and some uphill paths. But honestly, after eating so much good food, it’s probably needed 😂 And they also have golf carts constantly driving guests around the hotel, which makes it very easy and convenient.
Overall, we had an amazing stay. We got a great deal including flights, everything went smoothly, and we genuinely have zero complaints. We would happily come back again.
Highly recommend Grand Blue Hotel!

Very good, the bad reviews regarding the cold food were not true at all during our visit. The food was overall excellent compared to other all inclusive hotels.
Most amazing view.
Very good rental car service, good price and car delivered to hotel, must do!

Thank you. The Staff is very friendly. But! There have been no Pancakes not a single day ?? If you waited for 10 minutes you were able to get 3 small pancakes. That was very disappointing and the guy that makes them is very rude. But as I said, all in all we had a good time👍🏼
