Definitely not a 5 star hotel! We had booked a superior double room. The three of us were put in a small double room with a foldable bed that broke down frequently. No sofa, no seating possibilities. The booked garden view was not there, we looked directly onto the opposite house wall and neighbouring terrace. No privacy whatsoever. The booked All Inclusive turned out to be all inclusive basic, so only cheap wine or beer included. To be able to have a cocktail or prosecco you would have to book an additional “All Inclusive Premium”. Food trays were not refilled after the first wave of customers, so half of the food would be gone if we did not arrive early. Tables were not prepared for the next customer so we usually had to run around finding knifes and forks in the cupboards ourself. The public toilets of the hotel are old and not really clean. The hotel beach is not at the hotel but 400 meters away and drinks there are not included either. And the gym is smelly, the equipment is either broken, rusty and/or sticky, has not been cleaned in ages. All in all more in the likes of a 3 star hotel. Definitely not worth 5 stars as they proclaim.

Third visit back to the Gaia Palace. Lovely stay yet again. Staff were absolutely amazing and very friendly throughout our visit. We stayed in a superior double room which was excellent. The beautiful sandy beach with bar and toilets is a short walk with free sun beds for Gaia Palace guests. Not much locally around if you like a walk round a resort but a bus or short taxi ride into either Mastichari or Marmari is easy enough.
Food was good and the Greek night was great entertainment with excellent traditional food. All inclusive drinks are only local but we knew this on booking. Great pools and beautiful settings. Overall good value and hopefully we will be returning next year.

We had a wonderful stay! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially Mr. Nikos. The food was delicious and varied, with four different themed evenings. The hotel is beautiful and clean, with great pools and plenty of space – it never feels crowded. It’s not a huge, impersonal complex, but rather a charming place with low-rise buildings, nice rooms, and a lovely garden full of plants all around. Everything was beautifully maintained. Warm greetings from Klaudia from Poland and special regards to the funny bartenders!

Perfect for families with children. The staff is outstanding and very responsive to answer any questions you might have. They are quick in responding to your emails. It's a little bit of a walk to the beach. Every complex has their own little pool in addition to the super size pool in the middle of the complex.

Well there were some pros and cons. We came for our first family holiday with our 8 month old child. The staff and people were mostly nice. The bar staff serving drinks by the pool are usually miserable but the waitresses are lovely. The hotel was full of Germans. No issue there although some are very rude, some also nice.
The room was nice in appearance however had some real practical issues. The fridge didn't work, the air con didn't work and was dripping causing a leak and the safe didn't work. This meant 3 different engineers had to come out which I had to keep chasing reception. I felt like I spent half my holiday asking what was happening. There is also an issue with bugs and ants coming in the room.
The food is pretty average. Very much caters for the Germans. Breakfast is always ok as there are eggs, toast, beans etc. Lunch and dinner can sometimes be repetitive but occasionally some good food. The restaurant is fairly small but wasn't ever overwhelming busy.
The all inclusive is a bit questionable. You can get the basics but it's almost half board as they have separate 'extra' all inclusive things so not what we were expecting.
On the pro side, the pool area is lovely, and clean. Really nice pool and the beach is fantastic a short walk away. Read some bad reviews about the zoo/farm but it wasn't too bad.
Overall a nice holiday but certainly not a 5 star hotel, perhaps our standards are too high
