The Boss
Returned from a week stay at the Duva hotel with myself and a friend. The price we paid was extremely worth it for everything we got. All the staff are always very friendly and helpful with anything you need. The buffet breakfast and dinner are very good considering the cost. I was skeptical that it would be basic foods everyday. This was far from the truth, everyday there was new dishes and the food was very high quality and freshly cooked,

This is our third time at Duva and usually the highlight of our vacation. We like the location a bit outside the city, the reasonable prices and especially the amazing service we receive from Audrey each year.
However this year we were left slightly disappointed. The cleaning crew never really vacuums or cleans the balcony, and usually forgets to refill something each time. This year however, half the spa has also been under construction for our entire 3 week stay, which is frustrating. Add to that, that there are a lot more bugs in our room and a lot more screaming kids (both somewhat out of Duva's control), and the result is a bit lackluster.
That being said, we still love Duva and it has great potential. I'll end this review with some very concrete ideas for improvement:
- Focus on the kitchen essentials. The electric juicer is nice, but I'd much rather have a proper spatula and tongs for cooking
- Having three different open-air pools is amazing, but at least one of them should be adults only, to have a place to relax without the constant screaming of kids
- Have the cleaners spend a few more minutes in each room to allow time for vacuuming and remembering to restock the toilet paper 🧻

We are a family of four, with two children, and stayed at the Duva Aparthotel in Port de Pollença in a ground-floor Comfort one-bedroom apartment on a self-catering basis.
The apartment itself has been a really good size for a family of four. The rooms are spacious, including the bathroom, and the sofa bed is particularly good — it is a decent size and, importantly, very comfortable. The kitchen is also well equipped with everything you need for a self-catering holiday, which has made things very easy with two children. The complex as a whole has plenty to keep families occupied. There is good children’s entertainment, and the three outdoor pools are a real highlight. There is plenty of space around the pools and, during our stay, we have generally found enough sun loungers. There is also a good separate restaurant on site.
For anyone who likes being active, the sports facilities are another strong point. The tennis and padel courts are good, and there is a decent gym facility as well. Housekeeping was also good. The cleaners regularly changed the bedding and emptied the bins, and overall the apartment and complex have been kept clean.
The location is convenient for a family holiday. Port de Pollença is around a 10–15 minute walk away, although it is worth bearing in mind that this can feel a little longer when walking with younger children, particularly in the heat. There is also a local bus route nearby, making it relatively easy to get around without a car. We used Majorcab for taxis during our stay. The app is similar to Uber, although it doesn’t have quite the same premium feel or slickness to it. One of the best features of the Duva for us as a family was the free shuttle bus, which runs on weekdays to and from Port de Pollença. This was brilliant for days when we wanted to spend a long time at the beach or in town. Being able to get the shuttle back rather than having to walk the 10–15 minutes in the heat with two children was a real bonus.
There is also a supermarket directly across the main road. It is a little on the expensive side compared with larger supermarkets, but it has a particularly good bakery with a great selection of fresh bread and pastries.
The main area where the apartment could be improved is the bathroom. It feels a little dated and could benefit from being updated. We also noticed that the toilet could develop an unpleasant smell if the toilet seat was left up for a while. Something as simple as an air freshener or another way of dealing with this would probably make quite a difference. We also had some issues with ants in the apartment. It wasn’t a major problem for us and hasn’t particularly affected our stay, but there have been enough of them to notice. Given that this is a ground-floor apartment in a hot Mediterranean climate, some ants may be fairly difficult to avoid, particularly during the warmer months, but it would still be worth the hotel keeping an eye on the issue and treating apartments where necessary.
Overall, we found the Duva to be a good family-friendly aparthotel, particularly for a family looking for spacious self-catering accommodation with plenty of facilities on site. The apartment size, comfortable sofa bed, well-equipped kitchen, three pools, children’s entertainment and range of sports facilities are all positives. The location is also good, with Port de Pollença within walking distance, a nearby bus route, reasonably priced taxis and, most importantly, the excellent free weekday shuttle bus.
There are some areas that could do with updating, particularly the bathroom, and the ant issue is something that could be addressed. However, neither significantly affected our holiday. Thanks

We have stayed here 4 times now. It’s not the Ritz, but it is super clean, the staff are very friendly and polite. The rooms are basic but absolutely perfect. All very clean with TVs and AC. Nice pool.
Close to Port de Pollença town (5 min drive, 20 min walk). Kids are always happy staying here. We come to Mallorca every year for the last 15 years and have stayed in some awful hotels… but we are always happy with the Duva. We have stayed in plenty of hotels that are (on the surface) much nicer and more expensive but never as good as the Duva. We will be back again. Every time we are here we meet people like us who come back again and again. This says a lot about the place. Highly recommended

We stayed here for a 10 night stay in September for a cycling trip. Overall I would give the hotel a good rating especially for its friendly and efficient staff. Rooms are adequate and bike storage facilities good, perfect location and base for cycling. My only criticism would be the cooked breakfast selections which were consistently luke warm /cold consistently throughout the whole stay which i found disappointing. If this issue was fixed i would definitely return.
