I recently stayed at Vitor’s Village for a festival happening nearby.
Pros:
The location is fantastic—peaceful yet walkable to town, which made exploring Ferragudo easy and enjoyable. The pool area is beautiful and well-kept, a perfect place to relax. Breakfast was also a highlight, with a solid variety and fresh options to start the day.
Cons:
That said, there are several policies that just don’t make sense and detract from the overall guest experience. For example, there are no pool towels provided—you have to buy them, which feels unnecessarily inconvenient for guests. Similarly, there’s no complimentary coffee or tea in the rooms; instead, you’re expected to purchase pods. These may seem like small things, but they really add up. As someone who works in hospitality, I can say that simply charging a bit more per night and including these basics would go a long way in elevating the overall experience.
Another frustrating issue was the requirement to pay the room deposit in cash, which meant we had to walk into town to find an ATM after a long travel day. I’ve never stayed anywhere that doesn’t take a card hold for a deposit—it’s just not efficient.
Also, aside from breakfast, the food on-site was underwhelming, so I’d recommend exploring local restaurants for lunch and dinner instead.
There’s a lot of potential here, and with a few guest-friendly changes, Vitor’s Village could offer a much more seamless and enjoyable stay.

We stayed for 9 nights and it was a lovely stay. All the staff were friendly and super helpful, 3 separate pools and plenty of sunbeds, hotel also has a mini mart which is super convenient!
Myself and my boyfriend are both vegetarian and unfortunately there were not many options for us on the dinner menu. Would also love to see a meat substitute at breakfast, such as vegan sausages. The beds were also quite firm which is the only slight negative we could say about the rooms.

We booked this hotel with a package deal with Tui. We did see a lot of positive reviews before we booked but we experienced this hotel different.
Pro’s:
- Well located if you have a car!! There are many beautiful beaches and restaurants within 15 min drive
- Ferragudo on walking distance with nice restaurants and bars
Con’s:
- The rooms are very simple with uncomfortable furniture and very hard beds!
- the apartments are very noisy, we heard the neighbors talking and a baby crying in the mornings
- no towelservice and you need to buy a towel in the minimarket. Bring your own towel!
- we ordered a burger in the restaurant and this was overcooked. We got a new one which was almost undercooked and had no flavor.
- No music or any activities at the hotel by day
Overall we had a great holiday in the Algarve, the people are friendly and the food in very tasteful. We would come back but we will choose a more comfortable hotel next time. But if you choose Vitors Village make sure you rent a car to explore the Algarve.

Great stay! Family of 4 with two older kids (adults) and we had a great time. Reception staff were all so welcoming from the moment we got there in the middle of the night and throughout our stay (special mentions to Tiago and Miguel) and also gave good recommendations for places to visit. Impressed with the pools, much deeper than we were expecting. Everything was very clean. The area itself is very peaceful and tranquil and very glad we picked it over other areas. It was a good calm area for a base to explore the rest of the Algarve. Only thing I’d say is that the frango Piri Piri portion size was quite small in the restaurant considering the price especially compared to local restaurants but for the rest of the dishes it was good. Breakfast buffet was great, always replenished quickly and lots of choice for a hotel breakfast and some elements varied slightly each day which was nice.

I was very disappointed with our stay at Vitors village. First we stayed in a two bedroom with 4 people and were only provided with 2 towels at first. When we asked for more towels it became a big issue and it took many requests before they finally provided us with more. The room itself was not cleaned properly throughout our stay, the cleaners would come in wipe the floors, change the sheets and leave within 5 minutes of arriving. They never wiped down any of the counter tops and we had an ant infestation the entire time we were there. Management was very rude when ever we complained about the lack of cleaning and did not seem inclined to help us at all. There was one women at the front desk who was very sweet and helpful but everyone made it seem as if we were a burden like we we were paying thousands of dollars to stay there. Overall I would not recommend this hotel at all.
