An absolutely amazing resort with the MOST amazing staff! The place is lovely and calming but the staff really made this vacation unforgettable. Couldn’t thank them enough, every single person was so kind and truly wanted us to have the best time. And the resort itself is so beautiful, with spacious rooms that offer a beautiful view of the sea and the mountains, relaxing activities (like yoga and mini golf), many restaurants and bars, a mini market and a beautiful garden. You won’t regret going there!!

We had a great family holiday at this resort. It was a good base as we were driving around Crete. They also offer a shuttle to the beach, but we didn’t need this as we had a car. The views from the hotel were amazing and the staff all really friendly and helpful. The food in the main restaurant was okay but we didn’t try the other restaurants in the hotel.
The spa was wonderful and again staff there were amazing. I had my treatments done by Anna who was great and explained everything well.
It was a lovely clean hotel. They had a small playground for kids with a great view. They had a small kids club too and a small shop to buy some groceries and beach items, et cetera.
Overall amazing stay would definitely recommend!

I stayed at The Village Heights for one week and unfortunately my experience was far below expectations, especially considering the prices charged.
Food & Restaurants
The food in the hotel’s restaurants was extremely overpriced for the quality provided. For example, a simple pizza at lunch cost €18 but was made with a cheap, thick ready-made base and barely any toppings. A small cocktail was €15, and even a 0.3L Coke was €5.
Dinner wasn’t any better. I tried the buffet once, which cost €35 per person, and the food was very basic with none of the advertised Cretan specialties.
At the other à-la-carte restaurant (Rodis or similar), I ordered Antikristo lamb for €33. The dish came with 3–4 plain boiled potatoes, even though the menu promised “traditional Cretan potatoes”. The lamb portion was around 300g but contained many pieces of cartilage and some parts were burnt. Most concerning: I found several hairs in my food — and this happened more than once during my stay.
“Private” Beach
The hotel advertises a private beach, but in reality it is a public beach where anyone can rent sunbeds. The location is beautiful and the sunbeds are comfortable, but the hotel charges €35 for two beds and an umbrella. Down at the beach, the exact same setup costs €25. There was no shortage of sunbeds, so the higher hotel price felt unjustified.
Housekeeping
Housekeeping was good during the first two days, but from day three onward our room was not cleaned at all. Out of our 7‑day stay, we had 4 full days without any room service, which clearly shows poor organization and planning by the hotel management.
Overall, the resort has potential, but the combination of overpriced food, hygiene issues, misleading beach information, and inconsistent housekeeping made the stay disappointing. I cannot recommend it at this price level.

Beautiful hotel and super nice staff! The pools could really use an upgrade however, the outdoor ones as well as the indoor spa pool. They are very basic and outdated-looking especially considering this is a 5* hotel. The outdoor pools were freezing. For guests arriving in September and October, they should really be at least a little bit heated. The extra costs that come with this can’t be that high, as they would only need to be heated for around 1.5-2 months of the entire year. Pools are standard heated in other 5* hotels I’ve been to in autumn, from Egypt to Turkey. The pools were literally colder than the sea😢. The tiles also look outdated and cracks are on the sides of the pool - some nice new mosaic tiles would make the pools look 10x more luxurious, but that is a matter of taste.
We did the cooking class which was fun, but for €60 pp I expected to do some actual cooking more, rather than just roll some dough and chop a salad. The location is ideal, just 20 minutes from the airport but very far if you want to drive to popular spots on the island such as Chania or Rethymno. Our room was upgraded into a one bedroom apartment which was very nice, however the flush randomly stopped working and my bf had to use his plumbing skills to fix it. On our last day we couldn’t get it to work at all.
Overall we would definitely stay there again because it’s a quiet, green and beautiful hotel and the staff are very friendly. The cocktails are delicious too. The mini supermarket is also super handy to have. Small word of advice: for the apartments with a kitchenette you should put standard more dishwasher tabs in the room not just 2 as well as salt and pepper. Ours were empty.

Our room was upgraded for free. We were amazed by the quality and high level of this resort. The views are incredible, the atmosphere is great, the staff is very friendly, the room was more than perfect for us with everything you need, with balcony for coffee or dinner in front of the view of sea, mountains, villages and blue skies. The swimming pool was nice. They have live music performances, spa, and many more. We even practiced on the piano in the library! We had a great time ❤️
