Really disappointing stay.
We booked Seaside Hotel specifically for the wellness facilities. The sauna and steam room were a big part of why we chose this property at this price point. During our stay, a wind event led to what they called “force majeure,” and half the hotel was effectively shut down, including the spa facilities. No alternatives were offered. No extended hours. Nothing.
I completely understand prioritizing safety. What I don’t understand is how you can close major amenities and still expect guests to pay the full $600+ nightly rate without any adjustment. When a significant portion of what you’re selling isn’t available, the price should reflect that. That’s basic fairness.
What made it worse was the follow-up, or lack of it. After raising the issue, the executive team said they would “look into it.” No one ever got back to me. I had to chase them down myself just to get closure, and even then the answer was essentially no compensation, no credit, nothing. Just a rigid stance and a shrug.
For a hotel that markets itself as luxury, the service recovery was anything but. Luxury isn’t just nice furniture and a beach location. It’s how you handle problems. They failed that test.
There are plenty of hotel options in Maspalomas at this price point. This one is absolutely avoidable.

Beautiful hotel, full of character. The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful. The room was lovely with a great view of the sea and a good sized balcony with comfy chairs.
The food was excellent quality and we ate in the restaurant a lot.
There’s plenty to entertain in the gardens, a lovely big pool and quality live music every evening.
The area has plenty to do whether you like long beach walks, wildlife spotting, shopping, or beautiful parks such as Parque Tony Gallardo nearby.
Our return flight was evening and we were given late checkout free of charge which made leaving so much easier.
We’ll definitely come back here, it’s fabulous.

⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had a good stay overall at Seaside Palm Beach, but there are definitely some pros and cons.
The best things about the hotel are the location, the atmosphere and the pool. The location is excellent and very convenient for exploring Maspalomas and the surrounding area. The pool was warm and really enjoyable for swimming, and the overall atmosphere around the hotel felt relaxed. The staff in the restaurant were also friendly and professional.
Our room was cleaned every day, and the beds were big and comfortable, although the pillows were quite flat. We had a pool view, which was nice, but during barbecue nights some smells came into the room when we opened the window.
Breakfast had a good selection of pastries and sweet options, but there were very few vegetables or salads available. We also tried the tapas restaurant, which was decent but not amazing considering the price. Drinks at dinner are not included, so the overall cost adds up quickly.
The design of the hotel is very unique, with a colorful retro 1970s style. Some people will probably love it, others might find it a bit unusual. The hotel also seemed to attract mostly older couples (many German and British guests), and we were probably among the youngest guests there. There were also almost no activities, which might make it less interesting for younger travelers.
There were a few issues as well. Because of the way the bathroom is placed in the corner, the bathroom floor often flooded after showering. The hotel is also quite expensive, and overall it felt like you slightly overpay for many things.
One thing that was honestly a bit sad to see was that the hotel keeps pigeons in crates on the property. They were fed, but they were clearly trying to escape, which didn’t feel very humane.
Cleanliness overall was good, but we also noticed staff dropping or breaking things fairly often, more than we have experienced in other hotels.
So overall, we did enjoy parts of the stay — especially the pool, atmosphere, and location — but considering the price and some of the issues mentioned, we probably would or wouldn't return.
Final rating: a strong 3/5.
Edit: pillows weren't available and we didn't receive any menu.

Seaside Palm Beach is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Gran Canaria.
The location is unbeatable — just steps from the Maspalomas Dunes and surrounded by a beautiful palm grove, which makes the whole setting feel very special and relaxing.
The design is unique, with a retro style that feels fun but still very elegant.
The facilities are excellent: multiple pools, a wellness area, and plenty of space to relax. I especially loved the outdoor areas and how calm everything feels despite being a larger hotel.
The food was another highlight. Breakfast had a huge variety and everything was very high quality, and dinner was consistently excellent.
Service throughout the hotel was exactly what you’d expect from a 5-star property — professional, friendly and very attentive.
If you’re looking for a luxury stay in Maspalomas, especially close to the dunes, this is a fantastic choice.

We were placed here for 10 nights by our insurance after my wife had a serious accident. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, ice packs at 3pm or 3am were no problem and the duty manager checked on us every couple of days which was kind.
Breakfast was a real treat everyday and the pools relaxing and well supervised. Lunch by the pool was high quality and the staff friendly but professional.
We look forward to visiting again when we can really enjoy the facilities.
