Elounda Golf & Spa is a wonderful place, perfect for a few relaxing days in Crete. The views are spectacular, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the entire resort is very well maintained.
The rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the service is of a very high standard. The pool area and spa facilities complete the experience perfectly.
We especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere, the beautiful surroundings, and the attention given to guests. It is a place where you can truly relax and one we would gladly return to. Highly recommended!

Fabulous hotel and we got a free Upgrade upon arrival an amazing surprise. The renovated room are great walking or golf cart to the beach is scenic and beautiful. The Spa has complimentary sessions by Grit Hammer, I did yoga and Pilates in the morning before breakfast and I feel revived. I would definitely recommend.
The Dip
Without a doubt, this was the worst five-star hotel experience we’ve ever had.
Much of the hotel looked nice, but the service and food completely ruined the overall experience.
The food was disappointing throughout our stay. The quality was far below what you would expect from a five-star hotel, with limited variety and meals that were often bland and uninspiring.
The service, both at breakfast and dinner, was absolutely terrible. For a five-star hotel, it wasn’t even close to the standard of a three-star hotel. The tables were barely cleaned. There were still food leftovers from previous guests, attracting ants everywhere, making it unpleasant to eat. Even the floors were constantly dirty and appeared to be cleaned very infrequently, if at all.
Ordering food or drinks was equally frustrating. Waiting times were extremely long, and in many cases, no one came to take our order at all. This happened repeatedly, for example during the football training sessions and when ordering at the bar.
The staff did not take responsibility, and the whole operation seemed poorly managed and without proper leadership. There was no sense of organization or accountability, and nobody seemed interested in solving problems.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel. The many positive reviews are difficult to understand and do not reflect the experience we had.
The location and the beach were excellent, but that was the only real highlight of our stay.
Stay away from this hotel—you’ll regret booking it. The advertising and promotional photos create expectations that the hotel simply does not live up to. We left feeling deeply disappointed and would never return.

A Truly Amazing Stay – Like Paradise!
We’ve just returned from an incredible stay at this hotel as a family of four from Scotland, and we’re already missing it! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm, friendly smiles from the staff who couldn’t have been more helpful or welcoming.
The hotel itself is spotless and beautifully maintained, with stunning views that really make it feel like a slice of paradise. Our kids absolutely loved the pool – we could barely get them out of it!
The food at the buffet was always delicious and fresh. The only thing we’d suggest is maybe having themed nights to add a bit more variety – but honestly, we were always happy with the options.
We’re already planning our return – if we could stay here forever, we would! Thank you for an unforgettable holiday. See you again soon!

We recently had our wedding at Elounda Porto/ Peninsula, and from start to finish, the whole experience was incredible. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable — nothing was ever too much to ask, and the staff were always so accommodating not only to us but also to our wedding guests.
Working in the catering industry myself, I had high expectations, but what we received here was truly next-level. The whole team is such a credit to the hotel and its owners. Everything ran so smoothly, not a single detail was missed in the planning, and the day itself felt completely exclusive to us. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that the service was kept private for us.
A special thank you to Dimitra, the head of events — she was fantastic. Friendly, professional, and always in touch, she made sure everything was executed perfectly. I could honestly write paragraphs about how grateful we are to her and the whole team.
The food at the Borro restaurant was outstanding — the head chef and the kitchen team truly delivered something memorable. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean with amazing accommodation, stunning views, beautiful swimming pools, a spa, golf course, and so much more. The bays with their crystal-clear, calm seawater were just the cherry on top.
We are so thankful to everyone at Porto/ Peninsula for making our wedding day so magical — it’s a place we’ll always hold close to our hearts.
