I hope this personal review helps others make the right choice when planning a holiday in Portugal.
Our stay at the Pestana Blue Alvor Beach Hotel was truly exceptional. From our 15th-floor balcony, we enjoyed a breathtaking view of the beach and the ocean, which added something special to every morning and evening. The rooms were impeccably clean, and the quality and variety of the food exceeded our expectations.
As a family of eight, we were able to spend meaningful time together, thanks to the excellent facilities and thoughtful organization throughout the hotel. Football games, tennis courts, and the indoor swimming pool provided enjoyable daily activities, while short trips to nearby local towns added charm and authentic Portuguese atmosphere to our holiday. The beaches and coastal walkways were simply beautiful.
What truly made this stay outstanding was the hotel staff. Every member of the team showed professionalism, kindness, and genuine dedication to guest comfort. Their hard work is clearly reflected in the smooth management, high-quality service, engaging entertainment, and warm, welcoming atmosphere. It felt like every detail was handled with care and pride.
There is always room for small improvements, but without hesitation, I can say that we would happily return. Thank you to the entire Pestana Blue Alvor Beach team for creating such a memorable experience — we look forward to coming back, perhaps with even better dance moves and karaoke confidence.

We had a great stay at the hotel in January, although there were a few nuances that I’d like to mention below.
Pros:
-Stylish rooms, a stunning ocean view, and everything was very clean.
-The common areas are beautiful, with many aesthetic details.
-The food was delicious — fish and seafood were available at every meal.
-High-quality cocktails made with good spirits.
Cons:
– The spa area is very small.
– The hotel positions itself as a 5-star property, yet there were no slippers or bathrobes in the rooms.
– On one evening, the main restaurant was closed and dinner was served in the à la carte restaurant. Unfortunately, the experience was not very good — it felt like there was an attempt to save on ingredients, and starters and desserts were not replenished.
Overall, we were satisfied with our stay. The downsides did not spoil the overall impression, but for some guests these details may be important.

Currently here on a weeks holiday. The hotel is wonderful, the staff are great, very welcoming and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble. Reception team are really nice, especially Joana she is very helpful.
The grounds are kept nice and clean, pools are cleaned often and with 4 of them (including an adults only one) they never feel crowded. Other hotel activities such as Padl and crazy golf are also on site as well as a fenced in football pitch, so there is plenty to do around the hotel.
The 4 restaurants offer a wide option if choices and the main restaurant has themed nights so there is always something new to try. Travelling with an allergy child can be tricky but the restaurant manager has made it really easy, providing vegan dessert options for our son so he doesnt miss out. Cannot express how appreciative we are for this.
The hotel location is amazing too, only 45 minutes from Faro airport.
The hotel is a short walk to a very beautiful picturesque beach or a 20 minutes walk into Alvor village. Our room has a sea view which is just stunning and we are close enough to hear the sea at night.
We have never been to this area of the Algarve before but after this trip, i am sure we will be back.

We had a wonderful stay at the Pestana Resort in Portugal! The room service was excellent, and the food was absolutely delicious. One of the highlights for us was the amazing Kids Club — the staff took such great care of the children, allowing parents to relax, enjoy peaceful walks, or do some shopping without worry.
A special mention goes to Teresa and Megal, who were simply fantastic with the kids — kind, attentive, and full of energy. They truly made our experience memorable.
Overall, it was a fun, relaxing, and enjoyable stay for the whole family. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic 10-day stay here. The location is perfect, right by the beach with a lovely boardwalk into Alvor town and the marina. Lagos is just a 25-minute Uber away.
The adults-only infinity pool was peaceful and relaxing, with comfy beds and beautiful views. The hotel grounds are small, but well-kept. Our room (French balcony) was clean, quiet for the most part, and had a minibar. The only downside was some noise from a connecting door next door.
The staff were mostly friendly, especially at Coral Bar, and Bruna from entertainment was lovely. Entertainment tapered off towards the end of the season, but the mascot visits and singing added a nice touch.
The food was excellent, with lots of variety, great vegetarian options, and amazing cakes. Both à la carte restaurants were enjoyable, and the main buffet had something for everyone. Drinks were well-stocked, and bar staff were cheerful and efficient.
Check-in was smooth, lifts were easy to use, and housekeeping was reliable. A few small improvements could be made — more breakfast options, a better snack bar, and stricter enforcement of the adults-only pool — but overall it was a great stay for the price.
Would recommend for a relaxing, well-priced beach getaway, and I’d happily try another Pestana hotel.
