Beautiful oceanfront resort on the east side of Crete. The protected lagoon is a tranquil setting for relaxation. The room was simply furnished but nice.
Negatives - no hot water the first day. It was fixed immediately but I still had to endure a cold shower.
Couch is pretty uncomfortable and no smart TV to stream shows.
Service - for a 5 star resort I did not feel like the service was up to par. We had to ask for things multiple times, were either rushed or left waiting for someone to come by.
Al la carte dinner at main restaurant was slow, with tiny portions and bad service. Meal was OK but nothing special.
I know it's 5 star, but the pricing on food and drinks was ridiculous for what you get.

Dinner at Kafenion Adeste was amazing. The pork & chicken skewers were so juicy and flavorful and the pasta was fresh.
Breakfast buffet was wonderful with lots of options that changed slightly daily.

Gorgeous hotel, wonderful staff. I honestly think the staff really make the place. The grounds are beautiful too and I love the art incorporated into the property but the staff goes above and beyond about the smallest things. No detail is left unturned and they treat you like family. Breakfast was incredible every morning and so was the food in the rest of the hotel. It also felt reasonably priced which is nice as you rarely get that at a nice hotel. Special shoutout to Dina and Giannis at the bar as well as the woman who helps giannis whose name is escaping me. The only thing that I’d potentially change is the room didn’t necessarily feel like a 5 star hotel room, it was nice and I was happy just didn’t give the 5 star element, everything else was perfect though and I’d return in a heartbeat!

Great hotel overall. Amazing food and swiiming. Not cheap. But worth it.
One fly in the ointment: a Greek luxury hotel tax was demanded at check-out which was not disclosed when booking. This should be made clearer in advance.

We had a lovely time at Minos Beach Art Hotel and enjoyed many aspects of our stay. The setting was beautiful, and we were very fortunate to be in a quiet part of the hotel where it wasn’t too windy, which made it especially relaxing. The spa treatments were also enjoyable, though it did feel a little less relaxing when products were promoted at the end of the session.
One area where we felt there could be improvement was in accommodating dietary requirements, particularly for guests with gluten/coeliac conditions. Breakfast was the most challenging, as there was no clear signage for gluten-free options, and gluten-free pancakes were only available once during our stay. When we asked if they could be prepared again, a few days later, we were told no by the kitchen staff, which was disappointing. By contrast, the Labouliabase restaurant did an excellent job of accommodating dietary needs at dinner, which we greatly appreciated.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay and think with a few small changes—particularly around dietary support at breakfast—the experience could be even better.

A True Gem – Refined, Artistic, and Incredibly Welcoming
We had the pleasure of staying 10 nights at the Minos Beach Art Hotel with my wife and our 7-month-old daughter, and it was one of the most memorable experiences we’ve ever had in a luxury hotel.
From the very first moment, we were struck by the beauty of the surroundings. The hotel is more than just a place to stay – it’s a true piece of art. The architecture blends perfectly with the lush vegetation and the centuries-old trees, creating a feeling of harmony and timeless elegance.
The food was simply exceptional – without a doubt the best culinary experience we’ve ever had in a 5-star hotel. Every dish was a perfect balance of flavor, creativity, and freshness. We genuinely looked forward to every meal.
The staff was incredibly professional and attentive. Whether at the restaurant, the reception, or housekeeping, every team member made us feel welcome and genuinely cared for, especially considering we were traveling with our baby.
Our bungalow was spacious, beautifully designed, and tastefully decorated, offering both comfort and style. For our last two nights, we were fortunate to experience one of the villas with a private pool – an unforgettable highlight that added even more magic to our stay.
Minos Beach Art Hotel is a rare place where art, nature, luxury, and hospitality come together seamlessly. We left with full hearts, rested minds, and the deep desire to return as soon as we can.
