My husband and I had the most amazing time at Minos Beach Art Hotel for our honeymoon. The property is absolutely breathtaking and extremely well maintained. All of the food we ate was πολύ νόστιμο (amazing)!! The staff were all so incredibly kind and hospitable. They truly care about the experience you leave with. Everyone was so amazing but we wanted to give special shoutouts to Manos, Despina, Kosta, Michalis, & Gabriella! The Experience Manager was also very kind and helpful when there was an issue with our boat ride booking. She made it right with us immediately and even left a bottle of champagne in our room afterword. It was one of our favorite trips ever! Overall, the atmosphere was so incredible, relaxing, and so special.

A beautiful weekend stay and one of the most authentic experiences we’ve had in Crete. Minos Beach Art Hotel has that rare “old money” feel — understated luxury, calm atmosphere, incredible location and no unnecessary pretension.
The bungalows right on the water, the art throughout the property and the relaxed pace make it feel timeless. You genuinely feel connected to the real Crete here rather than being in a typical resort.
Perfect for anyone looking for elegance, privacy and authenticity. We left already planning our next visit.

Minos Beach Art Hotel is one of those rare places where everything just works. The service is impeccable, the rooms are clean and beautifully built (you can feel the solidity the moment you close a door), and the staff carries an attentive warmth you cannot fake. Everyone smiles. Everyone notices. Everyone seems genuinely happy to be there. They all remembered our names and called us by our names from first days.
The food, spread across the five restaurants on the property, is its own quiet masterpiece. Breakfast alone is an event: varied, fresh, generous, and consistently healthy in the way only the Mediterranean knows how to be. You can eat well without guilt, which is rarer than it sounds.
Now, a small medical detail. I am a doctor, and I track my health closely with wearables. What surprised me most about Creta and Minos was this: despite eating plenty during my stay, the food here, rich in olive oil, whole grains, and uncomplicated Mediterranean fare, brought my AGEs index down significantly. AGEs (Advanced Glycation End-products) are a biological marker linked to aging and metabolic stress and it is measured by my watch. Mine had stubbornly resisted every lifestyle adjustment I had tried at home. A week here moved a needle that nothing else had managed to budge. ( at 400 constantly at home, drop to 380 in 7 days in Creta/Minos)
For me, Minos Beach Art Hotel is closer to a treatment. For the body, for the mind, for the part of you that needs both rest and recalibration. I will be back.

Beautiful oceanfront resort on the east side of Crete. The protected lagoon is a tranquil setting for relaxation. The room was simply furnished but nice.
Negatives - no hot water the first day. It was fixed immediately but I still had to endure a cold shower.
Couch is pretty uncomfortable and no smart TV to stream shows.
Service - for a 5 star resort I did not feel like the service was up to par. We had to ask for things multiple times, were either rushed or left waiting for someone to come by.
Al la carte dinner at main restaurant was slow, with tiny portions and bad service. Meal was OK but nothing special.
I know it's 5 star, but the pricing on food and drinks was ridiculous for what you get.
Positives
Dinner at Kafenion Adeste was amazing. The pork & chicken skewers were so juicy and flavorful and the pasta was fresh.
Breakfast buffet was wonderful with lots of options that changed slightly daily.

We had a lovely time at Minos Beach Art Hotel and enjoyed many aspects of our stay. The setting was beautiful, and we were very fortunate to be in a quiet part of the hotel where it wasn’t too windy, which made it especially relaxing. The spa treatments were also enjoyable, though it did feel a little less relaxing when products were promoted at the end of the session.
One area where we felt there could be improvement was in accommodating dietary requirements, particularly for guests with gluten/coeliac conditions. Breakfast was the most challenging, as there was no clear signage for gluten-free options, and gluten-free pancakes were only available once during our stay. When we asked if they could be prepared again, a few days later, we were told no by the kitchen staff, which was disappointing. By contrast, the Labouliabase restaurant did an excellent job of accommodating dietary needs at dinner, which we greatly appreciated.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay and think with a few small changes—particularly around dietary support at breakfast—the experience could be even better.
