An absolutely incredible hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff went over & above to make my stay the most comfortable, and definitely memorable experience, again. That's what brings me back each time. The genuine warmth of every team member makes you feel like your a part of the AP family. The bond between them all is very obvious...signs of excellent management. They know how to make you feel truly special, and appreciated as a guest. Add to that, all the amenities you could want, and just a short walk to the historic downtown. You'll enjoy incredible views of Tavira, all the way to the ocean, and the rooftop lounge is the perfect place for a romantic dinner, complete with stunning Tavira sunsets. I highly recommend this wonderful hotel, it's always the best and most unforgetable experience.

Our stay at AP Maria Nova Lounge Hotel (Tavira) in late January 2026 raised serious concerns, particularly at management level.
We were assured before booking that the spa was fully operational. Upon arrival, we were required to pay 5€ per mandatory swim cap (not previously disclosed), and several facilities — including the cold water immersion area — were not functioning. Additionally, a damaged floor in the indoor pool area resulted in my partner injuring her foot, a preventable maintenance failure.
When escalating the matter, we met with the Hotel Director, Mr. Xisco Homs Perez. Although an apology was given, the overall handling lacked leadership presence, ownership, and solution-oriented action. There was no proactive assessment of the injury, no meaningful corrective measure proposed, and no visible concern beyond procedural acknowledgment.
For a senior executive in a 4-star property, the interaction did not reflect the level of accountability, communication clarity, and guest-care standards typically expected. It was also evident that Portuguese was not spoken fluently, which raises further concerns regarding suitability for a front-facing leadership role in Portugal.
This experience suggests structural management shortcomings rather than an isolated service lapse.

Wonderful hotel and staff. They try really hard to make it a nice stay, from the welcoming glass of wine to the delicious, generous breakfast and piano player at breakfast, flowers on Sundays for the ladies, this place is great and a great value.
Great beds, duvets, balconies, USB ports on each side of bed, great shower, large towels, nice staff, great Turkish bath and sauna. Great value, close to everything.

A pleasant winter break. Staff all helpful and smiley. Enjoyed late afternoon drinks in the roof top lounge before an easy stroll into town to enjoy the many restaurants available despite it being out of season.
