Quick holiday over Christmas period with the Family, gave 3 stars for the room due to lack of English chanel on the telly over all outdated look of the room, it badly needs upgrade, gave one star for service because during 7 days of stay the cleaner only came once I had pile of rubbish building outside our apartment for 6 days straight...gave 2 star for location because the main shopping is close enough but main strip is far enough over all if you look fo budget holiday the room will do just fine

The room was very basic, they don't leave you any soap to wash your hands when you arrive or washing up liquid or any dish clothes so be ready to have to buy everything.
The beds were reasonably comfortable and the shower was ok but the big issue was the cockroaches... Not great...
Sorry but I wouldn't stay there again... Disappointing...

Stayed here from 13th June to 29th . We shared 1 apartment with 3 adults and a baby. The room was big enough and clean enough. The pool area was adequate, plenty of sunbeds and Kathy's bar beside the pool was nice. The only trouble is , the noise around the complex from groups of lads at 4am jumping in and out of the pool drunk. Complained to reception and it was dealt with straight away. But, as soon as they went there was more groups to take their place.
We did enjoy ourselves, it's close enough to walk to maccy d's and the strip and lidl is 2 minutes walk away.
The Italian bar at the end of the apartments belong to Luz y mar . Not impressed and husband got food poisoning from the carbonara so, really wouldn't go back or recommend.

A lot of negative reviews which I think are quite harsh.
People pay 1-2 star prices and expect 5 star quality.
It's cheap and cheerful and you get what you pay for but it's clean and more than adequate.
Great location right in the middle of the old town and the strip.
Will definitely return.

I was a bit scared after reading the reviews, but i booked anyway as i was on a budget and wanted to take my 2 girls away!
Absolutely loved our stay here.... i only never gave 5 stars because we saw a few cock roaches on 3 separate occasions in the kitchen area. But apart from that we loved every minute of Luz Y Mar, staff were friendly, Kathys pool bar was handy and amazing... the pool and pool side was lovely, apartment was 10/10 you get what you pay for but was clean and well equipped.
It's only a few minutes walk to a big shopping centre with plenty to do and a 10 minute walk to the beach front both new town and old. I love Lanzarote i have been loads of times, i will definitely stay at Luz Y Mar again.
