Overall, bad experience, not what would you expect from 5 stars hotel.
We went to Crete to get married and chose this hotel specifically as it was advertised as a great place for such a newly-married time with good all-inclusive buffet. However, it wasn’t a good experience.
Months before arriving we notified them that we are getting married in Crete and it’s our honeymoon trip, however they didn’t prepare anything for us, not even a simple note. We even chat to the reception about this and they promised to prepare something for us but it didn’t happen. Further, we’ve got smaller / worse room than our wedding guests.
Rooms were small and in poor conditions / old-fashioned, with gaps in the bathroom tiles, damaged furniture and strange smell.
Once, they turned off water supply in the evening for half an hour while I was mid-shower so I had to wait for water to be turned on, whilst covered in soap under shower.
We also asked to borrow an iron from the reception to sort out the wedding dress, and promised to bring it to our room, but it didn’t happen, when we called them after an hour, they again said they will bring it to us, but again didn’t happen so after 2 hours we went to the reception to take it ourselves. We got it but they told us that we just have 20min to use it, because they finish their shift and going home so we have to return it. This is not the treatment you get in 5 stars hotel!!
It seems like the management of this hotel is a huge problem. Hotel seemed significantly understaffed with many things broken and not cared about.
When plug socket fell off the wall, it took them 4 days and every day reminders to fix it.
What’s worst, the swimming pools were staining feet / body in blue, which was really hard to wash off and was staying on the body for days! After few tries we and other guests just refused to use the swimming pools at all.
Food in the buffet was mediocre, not what would you expect from 5 stars hotel, dishes were repetitive and not that tasty. Also, we couldn’t take bottled water from buffet to the rooms.
The photographer working at the hotel was absolutely bad, and couldn’t take constructive critique.
There was no entertainment at all. Just something for kids outside the hotel, but nothing for adults. At the same time we were looking at nearby hotel with 3 or 4 stars with great entertainment.
The only positive was the experience / interactions with the staff in buffet, as Odyssea and Apeth amongst other people working there were great servers and amazing, friendly people. Also, gym facility was okay with Costas (professional trainer) who is a great person.

Our stay at this hotel exceeded all expectations! From the very first moment, we were warmly welcomed at the reception, given all the necessary information, and helped with check-in. The room was clean, tidy, and cozy, with regular housekeeping. A special mention goes to the restaurant service – the staff was attentive, friendly, and the food was both delicious and varied. We were pleasantly surprised that they even packed breakfast for us when we had an early departure. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was truly top-notch.

We spent two great weeks at the Knossos Royal and enjoyed our time immensely. The food and facilities were good, rooms were spacious and cleaned nicely every day. The staff were super nice and friendly, and were so sweet to our little boy, Ben. We want to thank in particular Fani and Aphroditi in the main restaurant, and Maria in the Kafeneion, for being so kind to him when we visited!

Nice hotel not 5 star though food could be improved buffet and restaurants seem to have repeated dishes and everything is in oil for someone like me that can not tolerate oils or butters I was left with very little to eat drink selection is very good. Rooms are nothing special and need a good cleaning travel to town is very poor on two occasions we tried to go there on the evening and the taxi service they called never showed up we even continually asked the desk but after a hour of waiting ended up having to stay at the hotel that really ruined the night and bus service is only once a day

Very nice hotel, good service, food was very good (all inclusive buffet) and lots of variety every day. We got upgrade for a villa, which had quite big shared pool. It was practically private pool for us since not that many guests swam in it. The rooms were a bit worn out, but the hotel is now under renovation. The beach was also a disappointment, but that will be fixed as well according to hotel personnel during renovation. I suppose sand will be brought there. The wind issue cant be fixed, maybe the strong wind was because of September. But as a conclusion, we had very nice vacation and coming back there if they dont raise the price too much after the renovation
