Our third visit to the Porto Bay Falesia, some good stuff and some bad. First the good, fantastic views from the hotel of the sea and red cliffs. Service always excellent, staff friendly and courteous, the hotel is being refurbished and closed shortly after we left.
We paid for a suite, which has a separate lounge,we were at the back of the hotel, the sun never shone on the balcony. There were areas of dead space in the living area,no fridge or kitchenette, mini bar of coffee machine. No extras from a standard room, disappointing. Beds were comfortable, shower pressure was low,no massage setting on shower head. Slept well, aircon was needed for heat in the evening. We paid bed and breakfast, but out of convenience eat dinner in the hotel on 3 occasions. This is where the hotel let's itself down standard of hot food poor, has got worse over the last few years . Doesn't seem to employ portuguese chefs in their kitchens, mainly Asians and Africans, food is unimaginative, bland in flavour. Evidence of recycling food very apparent, the lack of fresh vegetables shocking, tinned or frozen. Beware if you are vegetarian you'll get hungry.
Often saw staff reheating food, reboiling spaghetti. Breakfast was better but cost cutting evident,if it wasn't for the staff and fantastic views, don't think I'd come back. Porto Bay have bought adjoining hotel, and are planning on turning it into one big resort, not my thing really prefer smaller hotels where quality and standards prevail.

We stayed in Portobay Falesia for 5 nights in mid-November. The hotel is in a nice location close to the town and the beach, with stunning views. There's an outdoor pool, and tennis courts, an indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi, gym, and other treatments available at an extra cost. There are other daily activities that change on a daily basis.
The breakfast was huge. A variety of cooked foods, including sausage, eggs, bacon, beans, omellettes; Cold meats and cheeses; pancakes, fruit, yogurts, breads, pastries.
The staff were always friendly and welcoming, and always tried to provide us with the best experience during our stay.
There are restaurants for lunch and dinner, and live music every evening.
We're glad we stayed here and would come back again for a relaxing break in the future.

Great hotel in Olhos d'Aqua by seaside surrounded by nature. Beach just 136 steps down. Big pool and various daily programme included in room rate. Tennis and Padel court. Samalla restaurants in walking distance.

The hotel is mediocre. The staff is very friendly and competent but in overall the facilities and rooms are rather old and sometimes not functionable. Our telephone did not work, the furniture is very outdated and the water change stopper did not work, making us waste a lot of water as it was pouring from two openings... The breakfast is ok-good, but nothing special. The room we booked was a room with sea view but it resulted in partly sea view as there are many trees, which are blocking the view.
