We stayed in Portobay Falesia for 5 nights in mid-November. The hotel is in a nice location close to the town and the beach, with stunning views. There's an outdoor pool, and tennis courts, an indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi, gym, and other treatments available at an extra cost. There are other daily activities that change on a daily basis.
The breakfast was huge. A variety of cooked foods, including sausage, eggs, bacon, beans, omellettes; Cold meats and cheeses; pancakes, fruit, yogurts, breads, pastries.
The staff were always friendly and welcoming, and always tried to provide us with the best experience during our stay.
There are restaurants for lunch and dinner, and live music every evening.
We're glad we stayed here and would come back again for a relaxing break in the future.

Real nice hotel with excellent views of the beach. Plenty of parking around the hotel. There is plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel with traditional Portuguese food, Italian food and even an Indian restaurant. A shot walk down the street you can get to the Olhos de Agua beach or walk down the steps on the east side of the hotel to a less crowded beach.
The room was spacious and with a nice balcony. The room also has a small safe for documents and a small refrigerator.
This hotel is centrally located in the Algarve which allowed us to drive to all the near by natural attractions. If you are more into the party scene is about a 12 minute drive from the center of Albufeira.

Unfortunately, my stay at PortoBay Ocean Hotel wasn’t very enjoyable. The food at both breakfast and dinner was poor and lacked variety. The atmosphere was very quiet and mostly suited to retirees, which made it feel a bit lifeless. I had to move rooms during my stay, and I was also given the wrong pick-up information, which added to the stress.
Most of the staff seemed uninterested in helping, it often felt like any request was an inconvenience. Only one staff member was kind and tried to help, which I appreciated. The room itself was clean, but overall, the experience was disappointing and not somewhere I’d return to.

First impressions are everything which this hotel fell short on. Booked a suite with sea view 8 months in advance for 5 nights in August for family vacation to be given room on first floor next to elevator. Apparently all suites are next to the elevator. We would have booked differently if we had known that. We asked for a different room but was met with questions about how many times we have stayed previously. Being our first time it was instantly clear they weren't interested and reserve this room for newcomers. Once in the room the AC doesn't work and they can't figure it out so now we have fans instead, in August! It is hot and fans are loud. Foot traffic from elevator is noisy. Smoke alarms flash very bright every few minutes which in a dark room is like a strobe light. Nobody can sleep and we instantly regret booking this hotel. Public areas like reception and halls need updating. Breakfast and dinner buffet is just okay. Nothing special. Ramp to paid parking is a nightmare which they don't mention and apparently is where staff takes their smoke breaks which is a bit awkward. They also make you decide how many days you will be using the parking on the spot. We only ended up using it 3 of the 5 nights. Location to one of the best beaches with views of cliffs is excellent.

The hotel is mediocre. The staff is very friendly and competent but in overall the facilities and rooms are rather old and sometimes not functionable. Our telephone did not work, the furniture is very outdated and the water change stopper did not work, making us waste a lot of water as it was pouring from two openings... The breakfast is ok-good, but nothing special. The room we booked was a room with sea view but it resulted in partly sea view as there are many trees, which are blocking the view.
