Our experience at the hotel restaurant completely overshadowed our stay. The level of customer service was unacceptable, particularly the restuarant staff. The staff were consistently rude, dismissive, and appeared unwilling to provide even basic hospitality. Every interaction felt cold and uncomfortable.
What was particularly concerning was the obvious difference in how we were treated compared with other guests. We watched staff smile, chat, and provide friendly service to English-speaking customers, while our family was met with curt responses, little patience, and an unwelcoming attitude. It left us feeling singled out and questioning whether we were being treated differently because of our background.
The breakfast service was equally disappointing. We were told we had to order everything at the beginning and were made to feel like asking for another drink or additional item later was an inconvenience, despite breakfast being included in our stay. Rather than feeling like valued guests, we felt as though we were being discouraged from enjoying the service we had paid for.
We travel regularly and have never experienced hospitality like this. Every guest deserves to be treated with courtesy and respect, regardless of who they are. Sadly, that was not our experience here. We cannot recommend this restaurant, and we hope management takes these complaints seriously and addresses the behaviour of the staff.

Very clean rooms plenty of space. Small hotel but lovely. Staff are amazing. Receptionist very friendly and welcoming. Pool bar staff very friendly too. Location not great as a lot of uphill walking from the old town. But very quiet and relaxing place.

Stayed here for 5 nights. The hotel is gorgeous. Staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about places to eat and go for the day. They were super welcoming and make us feel at home. The room was gorgeous and we had a lovely view of the pool. Everything was clean and tidy . Breakfast was lovely and super quick service when being served. Only downside was that the walls were super thin so could hear everything around the hotel, from air conditioning, moving of tables, music, and people talking. It’s a beautiful hotel and is located perfectly as you’re still close to the town but quietly tucked away. Would highly recommend and would definitely go back.

We had a truly lovely stay at Hotel Do Cerro in Albufeira.
What stood out most was the kindness of the staff: friendly, attentive, patient, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. One of us celebrated a birthday during the trip, and the hotel surprised us with a thoughtful gesture, which made everything feel very personal and warm.
The hotel rooms were comfortable, pleasant, and well maintained, with excellent showers after a long sunny day. The swimming pool is beautiful and large enough not only for relaxing, but also for actually swimming laps if you enjoy that. There were always enough sunbeds available, creating a calm and relaxed atmosphere around the pool.
The location works very well. The hotel is situated slightly uphill, so it is good to know there is a bit of elevation, but for anyone in reasonable health the walk to the beach is absolutely manageable. There is a straightforward road leading down, followed by a small staircase toward the promeade andcthen a lift or stairs to the beautiful beach. If you prefer an easier pace, you can simply take a slightly longer route. And when returning from the beach, a short taxi ride back uphill costs only around five euros.
We also appreciated the breakfast concept and the hotel’s more sustainable approach. The breakfast selection was good, and if you wished for something outside the standard offering, the staff kindly tried to help whenever possible for a small additional charge.
Overall, this hotel combines comfort, warmth, attentiveness, and a relaxed atmosphere in a very pleasant way. We felt genuinely welcome here and would happily return.

We have just had a fantastic week, the location is perfect a 5 minute walk into the old town, and bars at the end of the street, the little train stops 25m away too.
The hotel is perfectly clean, a great cocktail bar with live music, a great pool area and lots of sun beds. The breakfast is wow, so much choice and the service is relaxed, helpful and friendly, they are brilliant.
We will definitely be coming again.
