Unfriendly, rude, and unhelpful front staff. Service without a smile and often ignored. Poor maintenance around the pool and external facilities.
Back of house staff very friendly!
The rooms where okay, needs paint refurbishment, the smart TV was working in either of our rooms, and terrible WIFI.
Furniture require re-upholstery, there were tears in the upholstery in our room. We found we had to pull out our sofa bed each day ourselves. Showers very good and powerful.
The food was fine, sport facilities very good, though most showers were dated and often you will find soap dispensers broken.
Room service was quick and efficient. It did cost 10 Euros to get some milk for our babies bottle, we thought that was a little excessive.
Parking, often get stuck behind the barriers, it will cost 1 euro an hour for non Hilton Gold Members, and if you drive to collect family from the lobby, ensure you dont get stuck behind the hotels shuttle cars as you will be stuck there until the driver comes back out.
Overall, an okay place for a short stay, but wouldn't stay there again due to the lack of staff professionalism.

Excellent rooms and facilities at the hotel. The breakfast stadd were very serviceminded and brought my coffee just the way I like it. It is a steep walk down to the beach, but a nice walk still especially if you walk via the park. The roof top terasse is lovely to have a drink. They had live music during dinner at the pool. It was a really nice experience for us and the children. The pool opens at 11 am every day.

A fantastic five-star hotel that exceeded our expectations. The sports facilities are outstanding, the gym is excellent, the tennis courts are superb, and the swimming pools are immaculate. The breakfast was also one of the best we've had, with a great choice and excellent quality.
What really made our stay special, though, was the staff. Every member of the team we encountered was genuinely friendly, welcoming and helpful. The reception team, in particular, couldn't do enough for us and always greeted us with a smile.
A huge thank you to everyone at the hotel, especially the front desk team, for making our stay so memorable. You played a big part in making it a wonderful holiday for my wife and me. We wouldn't hesitate to return.

Robert was amazing throughout our stay. He is incredibly kind, attentive, and always has a smile on his face. He made us feel very welcome from the start.
He gave us great recommendations for places to visit and was always happy to help. His English is excellent, which made communication very easy.
Thank you, Robert, for your kindness and professionalism. You really made our stay even more enjoyable!

I came across the Higueron Hotel, the Curio collection/Higueron Malaga resort when searching for a suitable place near Malaga for family of four comprising 2 adults and 2 children under 12.
It’s a well presented hotel with a certain design motif that’s consistent and nice. The hotel is situated in a secure gated community area of Higueron which appears to the hub for the affluent. The room we booked was a duplex styled room with an open concept bath and sink area which may not be the cup of tea for many but we liked it.
This is where is positive attributes of the hotel ends. My family and I came across several issues in the hotel which real made us think of its supposed 5 star rating.
The main pool isn’t maintained on a daily basis and gets quite murky after a few days. Not a good thing.
The WiFi is abysmal. There is minimal to zero connection. There is a novel implementation of an Amazon fire stick to enable OTT channel access but the poor to absent signal makes this a superfluous implementation.
The above are concerns if not niggles at most.
However, what’s truly appalling is the attitude of some of the waiting staff at the Med restaurant. There is one hombre in particular who keeps pushing folk by saying breakfast is over when clearing the coffee machine. It’s a five star hotel and not a canteen. Furthermore, this individual gave a me a flat “No” when I requested to take up some bread when one a my family members were not well on the day. This issue was rectified when the team manager said that there were no issues. That is NOT how a five star hotel operates and whilst the matter was rectified, one didn’t need to endure that unpleasantness.
There’s also a disconnect between the housekeeping and restaurant team as a we were asked to pick up our own cutlery or pay €15 to get is sent up. Again, this is more of a 3 to 4 star experience.
There a lack of spit and polish that one expects when staying at a five star hotel. The presentation of this hotel is not consistent with its services.
