This was without a doubt the best hotel we have ever stayed in, and we were genuinely sad to leave.
The food was outstanding, with plenty of choice at every meal. We especially loved the themed evenings, particularly the Greek and Cretan nights. The salads were delicious, but there was also plenty available for pickier eaters like our fussy one-year-old. Breakfast was another highlight – the Greek yogurt with fresh fruit and honey was incredible, and the omelettes were excellent.
We stayed in Pool Room 403, which was absolutely fantastic. The private terrace, sun loungers, and pool made it feel truly special. The bed was very comfortable, there was ample wardrobe space, and our cleaner, Sophia, kept the room spotless every day.
Every member of staff was friendly and welcoming. The lady at the spa always greeted us warmly whenever we walked past, which was such a lovely touch. The restaurant staff were attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly throughout our stay.
We visited the bar several times and really enjoyed the live music. The barman (had a 25 day old son!) was lovely and attentive. The setting is beautiful, with stunning coastal views that make it the perfect place to relax in the evening.
The hotel itself is wonderfully original, with quirky décor and so much character. It is also impeccably maintained, with beautiful flowers throughout the grounds. Our daughter loved spotting and pointing them out every time we walked around the hotel.
A special mention must go to Thanasis, the concierge. We believe he had only started about a month before our visit, but he was the very first person we met at Esperides and immediately made us feel welcome. He was kind, cheerful, and genuinely lovely every time we saw him.
We also experienced an issue when a wasp nest began forming near our sun lounger. Juliet and a maintenance team member (whose name we unfortunately didn't catch) dealt with it immediately and ensured everything was safe. Nothing ever seemed to be too much trouble. They had also noticed that our clothesline had broken before we even mentioned it and repaired it promptly.
The restaurant team were all wonderful, including the manager who always took the time to greet us. We'd also like to thank Armando, Adonis, Nikos, Ivana, Maria, and Serdan for helping make our stay so memorable.
Thank you to everyone at Esperides for such a fantastic holiday. We made wonderful memories here and cannot wait to return.

Truly an outstanding stay at Esperides Resort Crete. We booked the two-bedroom suite with the jacuzzi and it made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in.
Honestly, this place saved our trip. We had originally booked another hotel for three days that was listed as 5 stars on Booking, but Google told a different story at 3.7. After one look we decided to cut our losses and left the next morning. Coming to Esperides was night and day.
The staff was amazing across the board. The bartenders were excellent, the food was great, and the pool and DJ were top tier. The jacuzzi was hot, and the room was clean, spacious, and just great all around. We ended up extending our stay twice because we didn’t want to leave.
We’ll be back soon. Highly recommend.

Great location with plenty places to eat out of you want a change from the buffet dinner/lunch.
The buffet changes each night to a different theme, really nice food. Our room was nice (423) with 2 small balconies and air con in the bedroom and living space.
Service in the hotel was great, really friendly staff and the whole resort is kept nice and clean.
A 15 mins walk to the beach but probably a 25 min walk back for to the hill.
2 pools, one for adults only and one for families. Visiting in Oct meant plenty sunbeds available but I'd imagine in peak times they might be limited.
Lovely place, would come back.

Let me start with the positives. The hotel is nicely located in a lovely village and the staff is very friendly. Especially the staff from the Philippines. But this is defenitely not a 5 star hotel. The bathroom is very small, the jacuzzi does not offer any privacy and you can be seen by other guests. We booked a room with sea view. The view however is on the restaurant. And yes, behind the restaurant you can see a glimps of the sea. To continue....the information about the room in booking did not match the reality ( no seperate bedroom). Last but not the least. We had an incident in the restaurant. A man seated close to us made a very long and loud phone call. We could not continue our conversation. We asked a senior staff member if it is normal to have such a loud phone call in this restaurant. The answer: yes it is because he is the owner. We wrote a review on the Booking site and received apologies and a complementary 3 days stay in the hotel. And the request to change our review..........
