Just 20 mins from Heraklion airport. We went half board to include transfer to/from the hotel. Upon arrival around 7pm (not hotel related at all) independent provider for transport hotel seemed really disorganised. Worth watching out closely for your bus/coach as we had a half hour wait in very humid conditions which wasn't ideal. As I say this is not arranged by the hotel but worth noting if doing a similar deal.
Coming back to the hotel, lovely air-conditioned room and staff were all fantastic. Huge selection for buffet breakfast and in particular their staff looking after us each morning brining fresh orange juice were so nice as well. We had dinner most evenings at the hotel mixing between going out to a few local restaurants. Dinner was nice, I'd probably say a little more selection needed as certain dishes while fresh were clearly recycled from the day before. Otherwise location superb, sea facing and the pool/atmosphere during the day was great. If wanting a quieter holiday with fewer kids around probably go out of peak season.

I spent a week at Blue Sea Beach Affiliated by Meliá (June 17–24, 2026) and it was an absolutely fantastic stay! The hotel has a wonderful location — right on the beach, which makes the views and access to the sea truly amazing.
The beautifully maintained grounds with lush, well-kept greenery deserve special mention, creating a lovely and relaxing atmosphere. The pool area is also great — perfect for unwinding.
The biggest highlight, however, is the staff — incredibly friendly, helpful, and always smiling. We felt genuinely cared for throughout our entire stay.
The food was delicious, varied, and fresh — there’s something for everyone.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and would be happy to return!

The perfect Cretan hospitality!!!
This hotel exceeded all our expectations - it is truly an exceptional place to stay.
The rooms & the entire environment are fantastic!!
The breakfast & the dining experience was incredible, featuring fantastic meals that we looked forward to every single day. A special mention must go to the amazing à la carte restaurants and the central buffet for their excellent gastronomy.
A huge thank you to the wonderful staff for being so helpful and making us feel so welcome. In particular, congratulations to the hotel manager, Yannis Zacharias, who ensures every guest feels right at home. 🏡
We will definitely be back!

We loved our stay here! ❤️
Pro:
The hotel is freshly renovated!!!
Food had variety and it was very tasty
All the staff was kind, ready to help, smiling and made us feel that we are welcomed to the hotel
Very close to the sea (you just cross the street)
Swimming pool was heated, perfect temperature even for windy days
Every corner of the resort was spotless clean
Cons:
We had to wake up every morning at 7 am to run with our towels to "reserve" a sunbed
2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella on the beach in the front of the hotel for "half board" tourists cost 10€, so if you don't wake up early you have to pay or to sit on the sunbeds from the garden that don't have umbrellas
Extra info that we didn't know and maybe will help someone: you have to pay 15€/night (tourist fee/visitor fee)
In the end, we want to thank you for everything you do for your tourists! We felt welcomed and wonderful and we would love to come back again! ❤️

Overall, the hotel leaves a good impression. The location near the beach is excellent, and the food was very good.
However, the overall rating is heavily affected by the sunbed “reservation” situation around the pool area. By 9 AM, if you wish to go to the pool with your child, all the sunbeds are already covered with towels, while only about one third of the people are actually there. During our entire stay, we were not able to get a single sunbed by the pool.
This leaves a very poor impression. Most respectable hotels have already eliminated this practice and do not allow guests to reserve sunbeds in advance. The fair approach is that the people who actually come should get the places, not that beds are “claimed” early in the morning or even the night before, while the guests themselves may only appear around lunchtime.
Yes, there are additional sunbeds available in the courtyard areas between the buildings, but when travelling with a child, children naturally want to stay by the pool and in the water. It is not possible to leave them there alone.
This is one of the main reasons why I would not recommend the hotel, unless someone is willing to take part in the early morning “sunbed competition.”
