It wasn’t terrible, but it definitely wasn’t great either. The biggest disappointment was the food. I’ve stayed at many all-inclusive resorts and understand the food is usually average at best, but this was noticeably worse than what I’ve experienced elsewhere. The buffet options were very limited and lacked flavor, and surprisingly there weren’t even tacos available, which felt odd considering we were in Mexico. The best meal we had the entire trip was actually across the street at Iguanas Restaurant, which was excellent and a highlight of the trip. The drinks were also disappointing and tasted very watered down most of the time. Another issue was the limited dining availability. Only one restaurant was open each night, and reservations were difficult to get. The last reservation slot was around 9pm, which filled up quickly. There were also several small things that added up. The hot tub was barely warmer than the pool, the pools closed early at 7pm, and the beach was completely closed at night. There were no hammocks or beach daybeds to relax in during the day. Entertainment in the evenings was minimal and not very engaging. We were traveling with a group of 12 people, and there really weren’t any good hangout areas large enoughfor groups besides the lobby couches. Overall, the resort felt pretty average and lacked the little touches that make an all-inclusive experience enjoyable. Unfortunately, based on this stay, we wouldn’t choose to return.

We came down to stay at Allegro Resort for the first time, with our kids and our parents. We've been here for 9 days so far and wow - we LOVE IT!! We were nervous after booking our trip because since booking have seen lots of negative reviews - which is why I am sharing this now.
Let's start with the food. This is honestly the BEST food we've had at any all inclusive we've been at before. Our kids are 7 and 8, and they were very happy with the food, and us adults were pleased as well. We went to the Oriental a-la-carte twice, and it was incredible as well! I'm not sure why people are so negative about the food here - I'm assuming they're mostly extremely picky eaters or unhappy with most dining experiences in general. Don't listen to the bad reviews when it comes to the food.
The beach - WOW!!!!!! It feels like paradise. Every time I enter the water I feel extreme gratefulness and I'm in awe of how clear the water is. The sand is beautiful, and the ocean floor when entering the water is sandy - we never had to use our water shoes. You could see so clearly - you never had to worry about stepping on anything dangerous etc. Usually when we go to a resort we only spend a day or two at the beach - but this trip we find ourselves at the beach every single day. The beach was awesome for snorkelling as well. My kids never got bored there. Itzel was the server who walked the beach everyday that we were here and she is the best!! She made sure everyone had a drink at all times!
Speaking of the Staff - everyone has been incredible. Very kind, personable, and some even remembered our names! From the bartenders to the servers, groundsmen, housekeepers, cooks, entertainers, you name it - all of the staff here are 10/10.
The only negative I'd say about the resort is that the rooms are quite small, and there is a lack of dressers / shelves to unpack and keep things organized. However, it did not ruin our vacation at all. We did not upgrade our room at all - I am not sure if the upgraded rooms have dressers etc to rectify that minor problem.
We would absolutely stay here again. What a perfect trip we've had. ALSO special mention - Go to Alberto's (3 min away) for the best night ever!! 🤣🤣 Bring your Advil and water bottle for the following day lol.

Location is perfect! About 30 min via taxi from the airport port.
Very family friendly atmosphere with activities for all ages.
Rooms are clean, air conditioned + a ceiling fan with nice closet space, and balcony with a hammock. The grounds are well maintained and very pretty.
Three restaurants to choose from for dinner reservations as well as buffets with a variety of food options.
With a large family, we continue to come back (4 years now) because we love the smaller resort, the staff is amazing, the beach is perfect and you can’t beat the pricing!

The rooms are really small, but nice. The service is good, fast especially around the pool. The food is ok, I loved the fusion restaurant. The location is great I love the beach, the fact that there's two pools around the main area. I love that is no very big, every thing is close. I loved the entertainment especially Arby, he was really great. The show's were really good, my favorite was the international show. The downside, is the food is not the best, just edible, there wasn't a big variety. The second downside is the rooms, there really small, with four people it's very tight. In conclusion, the food was ok, service could be faster, rooms could be bigger, location was amazing and entertainment was really great.

Our experience with Allegro Cozumel was wonderful. The rooms were plenty large enough for our needs and we're cleaned every day. The staff was very friendly and helpful with whatever we needed. Arbey was so nice to me and my wife. He found out it was my birthday and had a cake made for me at one of the evening shows. I broke my sunglasses playing volleyball and he found me a new pair to wear. Super nice and helpful guy! There were lots of activities to do all day in addition to the most gorgeous beach. We snorkeled every day for an hour with the resort's gear. We saw a school of probably 1000 fish one day. We saw tiny baby squid, a ray, a barracuda, and many small living corals and plants. The beach was clean and the water was crystal clear most of the time. There was no sargassum at all in the area and only tiny amounts of other seaweeds that the staff cleaned up every morning. The food at the reservation only restaurants was great! The Japanese and Mexican style restaurants were what we tried. The Santa Rosa club bar and breakfast was a favorite as well. Omar helped me with any drink I wanted, even if they had never heard of it. And they were always perfect. One evening they even got me a lighter for my cigar! We went on a fishing trip one day and the restaurant made the most delicious ceviche with some of our fish. The only downside to the resort was the main lunch/dinner buffet. The food was about what would be expected at most all-inclusives which is basically cafeteria food. But it filled our bellies and we always found something we liked. We plan to be back again next year!
