Where to start! The Hotel receptionist who was on duty was not very welcoming, looked as if he could not be bothered. Went to the room, hotel is dated and a little rough. Our room was ok, it was clean. Was looking forward to dinner ,went downstairs to what can only be decribed as a school lunch room ,zero ambience at all, the buffet provided served food barely warm,we were offered a microwave to heat it though?! I was disappointed and barely ate. Not even the dessert redeemed itself. I watched as the roof leaked and dripped into the bar area where our drinks are poured, Delightful! The hallways are noisy so forget a goodnights sleep. Then sat on the balcony to over look the dirty canal and all you can smell is weed. Facilities?! A Gym you can't swing a cat in with no ventilation and smells musty, you can only get to the pool area by walking out the main entrance and all the way around. How is this rated a 4 star hotel??? Please see picture of the dry shoelace Pulled pork on offer. Don't waste your money.

I stayed at Hotel Grans Costa del Sol and overall had a pleasant stay, though there are a few areas where the hotel could improve.
First of all, the reception staff were very friendly and helpful, which made check-in and any questions during the stay easy. One of the bar staff members was especially kind and made us some very nice non-alcoholic drinks, which we really appreciated.
The cleaning staff were also excellent. They cleaned the hotel and rooms every day and were always very polite and hardworking.
In terms of the hotel itself, it felt more like a 3-star hotel than a 4-star, as some areas look a bit old and could use renovation. Our room walls were slightly dirty, so refreshing some rooms would definitely improve the overall experience.
Unfortunately, the pool was closed during our stay, so we couldn’t swim and I cannot comment on the pool facilities.
The food in the restaurant was tasty, but the breakfast was quite similar every day. It would be nice if the hotel added more variety, especially more savory options, since not everyone prefers sweet food in the morning. Also, different meats were sometimes cooked in the same area. It might be better to separate them—for example, placing red meat on one station and chicken or fish on another, since not everyone eats every type of meat.
The hotel also organized singing sessions and entertainment, which we discovered by chance and really enjoyed. It would be even better if guests were informed about these activities in advance.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a budget-friendly stay. The sea view is beautiful, and despite a few small issues, we still enjoyed our time here.

location is amazing. if you are looking to just have a place to sleep and be in a great location then this is the place. we walk out and we are basically in the sea it’s great. we’ve had a few small issues with our room such as the heating not working, our shower being too hot or too cold not middle term and our bed lifting. These issues definitely didn’t stop us from having a great time and enjoying the delicious breakfast they offer and their pool. I recommend.

Enjoyed my stay here so much. Used the all inclusive option and fell in-love with the cocktails 🍹 variety accompanied by it. The rooms and washrooms were spacious and neat. The available Tv 📺 stations were also inclusive as I had various options to choose from for me and my kids when I wanted to just stay in from hiding from the rain 🌧️ or the sun ☀️. Also, I enjoyed my meals and the meal suggestions for the day. Available vending machine for immediate needs if you do not want to leave the hotel.
However, I do recommend that the pool be heated during winter as I and my kids were unable to enjoy the pool as suppose as it was so so cold 🥶, giving it a 4 ⭐️ for this.

We had a wonderful family holiday here! We traveled as a family of three with our 2-year-old son and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Our room (a superior with sea view) was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with a lovely balcony and a large bathroom.
The staff (including the cleaning team and animators) were absolutely amazing — always kind and helpful, even lending a hand during breakfast when I needed help while picking food for our little one. Anas at the reception desk was also our guide to the beautiful region that we discovered- a special thanks to him!The hotel’s location is perfect, with direct access to the beach right from the exit, and plenty of great restaurants and shops nearby. There’s even a Chinese store just around the corner where you can find anything you might need!
Parking is paid but very convenient and reasonably priced, and there’s also public parking close by. Overall, everything was perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable family stay. Highly recommended — we would definitely come back!
+ Lots of activities organized by the hotel: gym, aquagym, karaoke…
Ps: I was surprised by the bad reviews. I think some parts of the hotel could get some work done but it is very clean. The location and the service quality compensates for everything else.

I would start with great location which give great impression.Rooms nothing special but higene standard always kept clean by staff. Breakfast not much choice, if you looking for standard eggs bacon beans bread breakfast you on right place. If you looking for more options or not basic quality look for other place. Acces to use hotel pool or sauna have to be paid extra. Going on holidays that is what most of us looking for. Hotel looks fancy and clean and pleasant staff.

A really lovely hotel with old world charm. Gorgeous setting with views of the ocean. Very close to the beautiful mijas pueblo (5 minute drive, taxi or bus). Staff always friendly but be prepared to try out your Spanish (absolutely acceptable in my opinion - you are in Spain after all). Service sometimes a bit patchy as every few days the hotel has a large influx of guests on coaches and they get very busy. When coaches not there it is the opposite and very calm and relaxing. I was sad the pool was fenced off when it was almost 30 degrees many days we were here, however it is October so I understand. Overall I would recommend.

We booked this hotel partly because we could use the pool at the end of the day. However, it closes before 6 pm, while the hotel website states that it closes at 8 pm. I went to reception to point out the discrepancy. They told me I wasn't the only one to mention it, but that they had never actually opened the pool later and that they had already mentioned having the website corrected. When you're a tourist in a beautiful region, you don't stay at the hotel, but rather explore during the day and return to the hotel at the end of the day.
Very disappointing

4 day stay here.
Unfortunately it was cold and windy.
Air conditioning wasn't great, room so hot!!
The hot food could have been warmer.
But reception staff great especially Carlos was really great, thank you.
Lovely to have beach so close.

Terrible experience! Dirty, broken, old and the reception extremely rude. The room was not cleaned. A 4 star hotel that should be 2 star!!! The pictures look 10 times better than when you are there. He went on to take another hotel if we did not check in after 9 am after a long drive. Parking was terrible, small, cramped full of cars and no surveillance.

We had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel in Mijas. The location is absolutely stunning, offering beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere that instantly makes you relax.
The service throughout our stay was exceptional- friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming, making us feel well looked after from start to finish.
The spa was a real highlight: beautifully maintained, calming, and the perfect place to unwind. It added a special touch to the whole experience.
Combined with the charm, warmth and lifestyle that Spain does so well, this hotel delivered a memorable and relaxing stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality, comfort and a true taste of Spain 🇪🇸

Came here in July on my own through a package holiday for a week. Excellent location. 10 mins max to the centre of Mijas. Came here half board. Breakfast was great. Dinner not the best but always found something to eat. Excellent staff especially the waiting staff. I was always seated by the window. Drinks reasonably priced. The outside area if you could get a seat was great. Room very clean. Would recommend paying extra for a full balcony as the Juliet balcony only fitted a chair. Plenty of sunbeds. Staff work very hard. Would highly recommend.

Just returned from a week at the TRH in Mijas, this Hotel is in a great location for visiting Mijas, bit of a climb up the bank to the road (there are steps if not wanting to go up road). Rooms in need of a bit of Renovation (lick of paint wouldn't go amiss to tidy a little)Staff Great helpful & Friendly, Breakfast only stay & was very good, Chefs Omelette s lovely, plenty of choice for all. Would definitely return, just like to say Thank You to Reception staff for all their Help on the 8th May, they will know what we mean, thanks again Sue & Chris.

Stayed here for a 4 day break. Hotel located in lovely village of Mijas. The rooms are very tired and dated albiet reasonably clean. The reception and dining room were lovely and the breakfast very good. Staff very pleasant.
Its a shame this hotel is not being maintained to the standard of its 4 star rating. Furniture in the bar lounge and public areas were suffering from stains and some of the leather look tub chairs were ripped and split. Water was pouring in from the roof in the conservatory. Paint in rooms were chipped and the furniture needed painting. The balcony was black with algae and the patio door leading onto it was drought and the handle was loose.
The bathroom was really dated with the over bath shower and taps pitted and the screen had no seal. The loo roll holder was loose too.
Beds were comfortable and the bedding immaculate. The house keeping staff really work hard to keep things as good as possible.
There is an excellent bus service from Mijas to nearby towns of furengarola and benalmadena.
Mijas has lots of interesting characteristics such as a beautiful church and lots of quaint places serving great quality food.
We wouldn't return to this hotel but the location is stunning.
