St Julian's Bay
Think of bougainvillea-clad buildings, a fishing village atmosphere, and a pretty, floodlit harbour. Combine this with a modern tourist appeal and you have the charming St Julian's Bay a popular Maltese holiday area. Beaches are aplenty with the rocky shores of Sliema, and the sandy beach of St George's Bay. Nightlife, family entertainment, restaurants and bars, water sports and horse-riding, the list is endless on a St Julian's break. Parts of the bay retains the old sleepy village style, Spinola Bay for example is a great place for sampling traditional Maltese cuisine, but continue on and the tourism trend has provided an abundance of cafes, clubs and shopping options. Paceville and its animated nightlife is within walking distance and St George's is close by too. Set on the eastern side of the island, St Julian's Bay attracts visitors year after year for the excellent choice of things to see and do.
There are a few lidos in St Julian's for sunbathing and the shore itself plays host to many water sports, water-polo and scuba diving centres where snorkelling can also be enjoyed. Boat trips are in abundance and as for shopping, well the Bay Street complex will perfectly serve your needs. Amusement arcades and cinemas, restaurants and discos, it's all for the taking as part of a great Malta holiday.

I have been to several radisson group hotels. This hotel is far far away from anything near radisson brand (standards, service, etc.) except radisson rewards which not even every staff unit knows about. No water dispenser at the corridors and no soap dispensers in the bathroom, most of rhg hotels updated to them! Front desk gave us a room with uncleaned toilet from previous guests, serious issues with housekeeping. That is the treatment for honeymoon vacation & longstay guests (this information was told to the fo staff multiple times!). Attached kettle picture that guest is supposed to use. Not even park inn level, but hey you are going under radisson individuals brand name!! Changing room to a higher floor is available for 20 eur/day, the next day it costs 50 euro. Even though the hotel does not have high-low floor categories! Wanted to order milkshake at the bar - we don’t have it. What about mohito - ran out of mint. And it lasted three days until i gave up on getting mohito. Lack of fruits at breakfast. Check out time is 11:00 in the morning which is very unusual for radisson hotels. When we arranged and confirmed late check-out with fo staff and went back to the room we got a visit from housekeeping supervisor while changing clothes!! No knocking, nothing. Fo should have pass this info to a housekeeping to avoid such unpleasant situations. Overall, hotel should be closed, fully renovated, staff freshly educated basic yes i can! fundamentals and only after the hotel can try to operate under radisson hotels group brand name

This is a lovely hotel in a quiet area of St. Julians. Rooms are spacious but the bathroom in the standard room is quite small. Pool area is clean, could do with a few more parasols, but staff are happy to find one for you. Breakfast was excellent. Plenty of choice & very fresh. There are some lovely restaurants 5 minutes walk from the Hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I had a hair appointment at the hotel spa, and Carmen was lovely & did a really good wash & blow. Would recommend.

Drab and cost-cutting in the extreme. The Ryanair of hotels.
Staying here for two nights on a work trip in a superior room.
On arrival the foyer looked minimal?…or just unfinished? Like an amateur DIY project that didn’t really come together and the finishing is very poor.
However the check in staff as all the staff were super friendly and helpful. 5 stars for service.
But the room…. Bleak and dark. The cheapest of furniture (check out the side tables!). Sparse. Looks like they have taken a razor to the budget and just gone for the cheapest of everything
Yes the lovely outlook during the day made up for much of it, but by night…. One dim fluoro bulb in the ceiling. No table or floor lights to soften and made the desk or other spaces usable.
Blank sterile walls… the only art hotel with zero art or any decoration in the room.
The hotel did send up a lamp when I complained straight away which was great though.
The mattress and pillows are both very hard foam so great if you like that but not great if you need any degree of contouring on your body.
The breakfast was varied but the quality of the food was again, the cheapest of everything and not very appealing.
Room service was pay as you go unless you leave €100 at reception.
The spa was cash only (not bad though and very good value).
Also a pleasant outdoor area and pool, the quietest part of St Julian’s.
No doubt they will reply with how sad they are. That my experience maybe that they are in the middle of refurbishment but whatever excuses, the fact still remains that this was a very below par room and experience.

My main issue is the gym - it is very very small and limited on equipment. I would have expected a better gym for the price.
Another thing to mention, there was a little bit of mould seen in the bathroom, and a strange smell when you entered the room.
But otherwise the service was great, location beautiful and lots of restaurants close by too

I would not recommend this hotel.
We paid for a Superior Sea View Room for one week, but instead we were given a very small room with a broken air conditioner. Every single day we asked the staff about it, and every day we were told, “Tomorrow you will change rooms.” Unfortunately, that never happened. We spent the entire week in an extremely hot room without air conditioning.
The swimming pool was also very disappointing. It was dirty and had a very unpleasant smell, making it impossible to enjoy.
What made the experience even worse was the supervisor’s attitude. She spoke to us very rudely and refused to provide the room we had paid extra for. We were never given the accommodation we booked, and we were not offered any refund or compensation.
This was a very disappointing experience, and I would not stay here again.

Party central hotel. Ideal for same-sex groups not couples or families.
Pool hectic every single day with large, same-sex groups who camp out from 11am until sundown so incredibly hard to get a sun lounger - even harder to get and keep some in the shade. Many camp out in the pool itself which also makes it hard to enjoy the pool as it is small.
There is bar service up next to the pool which is a plus but the food menu is limited and pretty sub-par in quality.
Location is up a hill and very close to loud bars and clubs. Often hear people in the early hours walking past. Hotel is not 4* in my opinion. Very basic room but it is cleaned well and regularly.
Expensive for what you get. Would suggest to same-sex party groups only. Not worth it if you aren't on their sort of similar schedule as they just take over.

I had a lovely stay at this hotel despite it being located in a busy and noisy area. We were greeted by a member of staff named "Stephania" (I apologise if I am not recalling her name correctly, as I am writing this review more than a week later). She was exceptionally welcoming, demonstrating great professionalism and courtesy. After a long day of travelling, she immediately put us at ease and provided helpful advice and directions to interesting places to visit in Valletta. The rest of the staff were also very polite. Our room had a great view to the bay. Was quiet and clean. Breakfast was Ok. The pool area has an amazing view. Only down side was we found large black hairs on two of the bathroom towels which was definitely not great as my partner is blonde. Nevertheless we would return to this hotel again.

Amazing experience at Mercure St. Julian’s Malta. The staff were incredibly kind and even upgraded our room, which was a lovely surprise.
Special shoutout to Erik at reception super kind and extremely helpful, giving us great tips about everything to see and do in the area.
Great location, beautiful rooftop pool, and excellent breakfast. Would absolutely stay here again!

The hotel is conveniently located in the center of St. Julian, next to the bus station, a wide choice of restaurants and shops. It offers private parking space and a roof-top swimming pool with a lovely view. Our family suite, which was clean and well equipped. The breakfast buffet offered a wide choice, including some local options. We appreciated the friendly and efficient service of the entire team! Highly recommended for both business and vacations in Malta!

Price : 158.25 EUR + Tax 1 EUR for one person, two nights
Pros :
• Good location, near to major bus station
• Attentive staffs
• Clean room
• Variety of foods on buffet breakfast
Cons :
• A bit weak shower
I stayed two nights at Mercure St. Julian’s Malta and it was great experience. The location is very safe and quiet, though St. Julian’s felt the most modernized city in Malta.
The room was very clean and spacious enough for solo travelers, along with variety of amenities. It even included a capsule coffee machine for free. The view from the balcony was nice.
I’m impressed by their buffet breakfast as well. Typical hotel breakfast in this price zone only includes two or three hot foods, but here there were like eight to ten. Also enough variety of veggies, breads, desserts and drinks.
The only concern during the stay was that the water pressure of shower was a little bit weak, though I experience this in almost every hotels so not quite a problem.
I’d recommend this hotel if you’re looking for somewhere with high standards. Considering the service, the price is appropriate.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The property is absolutely beautiful, the location is excellent, and it offers everything you could wish for during a relaxing vacation.
Every morning, Lama welcomed us warmly at breakfast. She was always happy to help with any questions or requests and provided great tips for planning our day.
For a perfect and relaxing time by the pool, Kiran was outstanding. He never missed an opportunity to assist us with anything we needed and always made us feel welcome while keeping us entertained with friendly conversations.
At the Reef Club Pool, Denis and Andi made the best cocktails and ensured that every pool day was perfect. Their service and positive attitude truly stood out.
In general, all staff members were incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional, making our stay even more enjoyable.
We would also highly recommend the restaurant Palios. The food was excellent, and it was one of the highlights of our stay.
Thank you to the entire team for making our vacation so memorable.💞💞

Stayed 8 nights here in Feb. The service was excellent, everyone friendly and happy to help. Our room was lovely, although in the new block so a bit of a walk round. The air in the rooms was quite dry and it was difficult to get the right balance with the aircon.
Used the indoor and outdoor pool during the stay. They say heated but could do with being a bit warmer. The inside whirlpool was quite cold and the jets quite aggressive!
Had the breakfast one morning. Pricey but an amazing choice. Plenty of cold and hot options. You definitely wouldn’t get bored if you had it everyday!
The location is pretty convenient. Bus stop outside to get to Valletta and plenty of restaurants and things close by.
The chocolate cake from the lounge was delicious.

We’ve had the best stay ever at this superb Hotel. Thank you SIAD on reception for our lovely room and to GEORGE for arranging our fantastic private boat trip to the Blue Lagoon. RAMESH the pool host is amazing nothing is too much trouble! He made our stay even more enjoyable! We WILL 100% be coming back here! We must also mention KIRAN at the pool area! Again nothing is too much trouble! But honestly all the staff are great and deserve a mention but far too many to list! - Oh! and SUNNY who greeted us most mornings at breakfast!
We’ve just sat at the pool bar and booked to come back in December, the pool here
Is heated and the temperature will still be great compared to home in December.
Book it! you really won’t regret it!

We have just finished up a lovely 4 night stay at the Westin Dragonara Resort. There are two pools as well as plenty of sun beds by the sea, we loved the reef pool the most, it was quieter than the main pool but still there was a bar and entertainment. The highlight of this hotel was the staff, everyone was so kind and friendly, always happy to help and make sure we were having a lovely stay. The location was perfect, a stone’s throw from the sea and just a short walk into Paceville. The bus to Valletta stops right outside the hotel, and i really do recommend taking a day trip! We would gladly visit again, thank you to the staff for a holiday to remember!

Love this hotel, it is beautiful and well taken care of. I am already planning to return. From the friendly polite staff, to the beautiful architecture of this hotel it is welcoming and grand . As you step into the hotel you are immediately wowed as it has a huge well lit foyer, smelling lovely ...I think it's the hotels signature smell which you will find also with the complimentary shower gel, shampoo/ conditioner and boday lotion...in their bathrooms (perfect because you don't need to take any of these toiletries with you, they are provided for you and of excellent quality). The rooms are nicely decorated, the beds are comfortable the bedding is prestine, soft and clean. The bathrooms are clean too, the only thing was the bath/shower wasn't draining properly it was a little slow, but not a deal breaker. As a clean freak I felt comfortable with the level of cleanliness, which I haven't felt in other previous hotels I stayed in. I could say it feels like home a way from home, in fact as I said I plan on returning. The buffet breakfast, is scrumptiously wonderful with an array of varied foods ..sweet, savoury anything you wish for to eat they have it, all fresh and of the highest quality. Highly recommend. It shows that this place they pay attention to details and they care for their customers. It has a beautiful looking clean pool which o don't get to try this time around. All hotel grounds are kept spotless which for me is something important. The view of the sea from the room is amazing. Again just really loved my stay.
Activities
Just as you would expect from a holiday resort there are countless options for dining, shopping and sightseeing. Combining the areas of Paceville for high-energy nightlife, St George's Bay for its discos and bars, and the beaches of St George and Sliema, it will easily fill your days and nights alone. But for a more traditional or laid-back approach to a St Julian's holiday, wander over to Spinola Bay. It makes up part of this area and is a great location for sampling the excellent Maltese cuisine followed by a stroll on the harbour past colourful fishing boats, evidence of St Julian's old way of life.
Day trips to Valletta are a must during your time here as the ancient history and inspiring architecture is considered by UNESCO to be one of the most concentrated areas of architectural importance.
