After an unfortunate series of events involving TUI, my wife and I were left stranded at Rhodes Airport at 2:00 a.m. after our flight home was cancelled. We were informed that passengers would need to arrange their own accommodation, which understandably resulted in a very chaotic situation.
After unsuccessfully trying several hotels due to the late hour, we spoke with Sozon, the Night Manager at Sol by Melia Cosmopolitan. From the moment we arrived, he greeted us warmly and immediately put us at ease. He seamlessly arranged a room for us, organised a meal plan, and ensured we were comfortable for the night. His professionalism, efficiency, and genuine care were exceptional, and his handling of a difficult situation was exemplary.
The following morning, Roula took over and was equally impressive. She quickly clarified the situation, arranged a late check-out at a very reasonable rate, and did everything possible to help us despite the circumstances being entirely outside the hotel’s control. Her professionalism and customer service were outstanding.
The hotel itself is fantastic, with excellent facilities and a welcoming atmosphere, but it was the kindness and dedication of the staff that truly stood out. Both Sozon and Roula turned what could have been a very stressful experience into a positive one.
We are incredibly grateful to the team at Sol by Melia Cosmopolitan for their kindness and support. When we return to Rhodes, we know exactly where we will be staying.

We spent time at the Sol Cosmopolitan Hotel. I wanted to say that this hotel is worth choosing. The food is fresh, the international cuisine is different every day, the rooms are clean, the private beach is private, and the entertainment staff are wonderful, kind, and always smiling. ❤️🫶😊 The evenings for children could be a bit more varied, but most importantly, they are there. My only criticism is that the information could be in Polish. There is also a Polish entertainment staff, so they don't have to learn the language. It's a shame that our language is so neglected (there were many Polish families there). Thank you for a wonderful time at your hotel. I truly recommend this hotel!!! 🥳, ❤️
There are also performances for adults every day.

Our flight was delayed until the following day, which was incredibly stressful as it happened around 3am. The airline was supposed to provide accommodation and transport, but unfortunately they were unable to find anything and told us to arrange it ourselves.
Thankfully, my husband found this hotel, and honestly, it was the best thing that could have happened. From the moment we called, Sozon was absolutely amazing. His kindness, professionalism and willingness to help immediately made us feel relieved during a very difficult situation.
When we arrived, the excellent service continued. The hotel itself is fantastic, but what truly makes this place special is the staff. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and genuinely cared about helping us.
A special thank you as well to Roula, who helped us the following morning. She handled our situation professionally and provided exceptional customer service.
Honestly, everything happens for a reason. What started as a stressful travel experience turned into a wonderful stay thanks to the incredible team here. If you ever find yourself needing accommodation at short notice, this is definitely the place to book.
The service, atmosphere and facilities were all 10/10. We couldn’t recommend this hotel more highly.

Arrived 7th June for 1week, the hotel was very busy, lots of families with young children not really my scene but ok for the week. The room was comfortable said it was a land view but we could see the sea, nice balcony. Choice of food was very good in the restaurant and it was kept exceptionally clean, all tables cleared as soon as the tables were vacated, as was the rest of the hotel and grounds always someone cleaning and clearing away glasses around the pool area. Big shout out to the bar men in the main bar Mikes & Max kept the cocktails flowing and very friendly. Only downside for me was the all inclusive drinks menu it was very limited especially the cocktails, you could pay for other cocktails but that to me defeats the all inclusive policy. All in all enjoyed my stay and the weather was beautiful.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The biggest highlight was the beautiful sea view — it was truly amazing to start and end each day with such a view. The food was also very good, and the pizzas became our favorites 😁 The desserts were absolutely top tier — we always wanted to try more.
One thing that surprised us a little was that most of the activities and communication around the pool were mainly in French, but it did not ruin the overall experience.
The reception staff were very helpful and professional, and the service was excellent. A big plus also goes to the car rental service — definitely 5 stars. The cocktails were tasty, although we would have preferred them to be a little less sweet.
We would also like to give a special mention to the housekeeping girl who greeted us every morning with a smile, was always very polite, and cleaned the room perfectly every day. People like her truly deserve tips 😊
Probably the only inconvenience was the sunbeds by the pool — if you wanted a good spot, you had to reserve one early in the morning before breakfast.

We had a lovely holiday at the AVRA beach resort. The food is buffet style and the dinner changes theme daily. For an all inclusive resort with so many people, I was impressed at how good the food actually was. You get a voucher to have one meal at the waiter served restaurant too which is superb. That was our favourite evening of the holiday as the food was fantastic and the setting of the restaurant is very beautiful.
The rooms are modern and comfortable and you are given beach towels to use around the pool and on the beach.

Absolutely stunning location and beautiful looking hotel.
Rooms: generally clean and look nice and modern , though missing a few wee touches like hooks or rails to hang towels up in the bathroom area, a shelf in the shower for toiletries. Safe needs to be paid for separately, which I think is just rude.
Our room wasn’t always cleaned properly and towels weren’t always changed even when putting them on the floor.
Bin was emptied, but full bin bag left on desk.
Dirty cleaning cloth left in bathroom.
Floors weren’t cleaned either, a couple times we removed dust bunnies ourselves.
Explained all this to reception and was told “the cleaners probably didn’t have enough time” I asked them to make sure our room was cleaned properly and to provide fresh towels, but it still wasn’t done properly.
Food: good food hygiene, edible for the most part, given its buffet style food, it’s good, but some nights we had to opt for salad based meals as the meat just doesn’t look all that appealing at times. Desserts are always spot on!
Staff: a bit hit and miss tbh, some are your generic hotel staff friendly, some not so much, did not really experience the “Greek friendliness”
Entertainment: was fairly disappointing to the point we opted to go into ixia for some entertainment or just went to our room a few nights. We found one of the entertainment crew to be creepy, so avoided him at all cost.
There is absolutely nothing there for teenagers, nor do the entertainment staff even attempt to get them together.
Overall, I would say a neutral experience, leaning a little more to positive than negative, I would highly recommend for the location and possibly for older childless couples, but wouldn’t really recommend for single parents of teenagers.

Was an okay holiday, the food wasn't great in the buffet, however in the dedicated restaurant it was exceptionally good.
Drinks were okay, a bit hit and miss with who was pouring drinks but overall okay.
Room was okay, however we had a newly refurbished room and it wasn't finished, some of the trims were missing and we had a delivery of soap dish and bits for the bathroom while were there, which we had to unpack and arrange.
The rooms on the otherside are in desperate need of a referb according to other members in our party who had to pay to upgrade to better rooms in the refurbished block.
I'm sure once all the rooms are updated it'll be lovley.
The entertainment team were great, lots of energy and engagement.
Had a couples massage in the spa which was great and very relaxing.
Car hire was available and the sercice was great. AFLA car rental.
Description on jet 2 website/app is misleading, there is only one pool and one small child pool.
There is one buffet which serves breakfast lunch and dinner.
One snack bar open until 00:00
2 bars open until 00:00
And a 2nd lunch buffet which is open until about 15:00 over in the 'nice restaurant' area.
Overall it was okay but we wouldn't go back.

We love Rhodos and it's inhabitants.. so lovely and sweet.
Thé hotel is on thé good side of the island. Little lower temperature due to more wind. Lindos side is to high...
This hotel is perfect for sea, close by Rhodos city.
About the hotel, staff is so Willing to help, friendly and sweet.
Thé rooms with side seavieuw are 10/10.
Thé food is great, take all-in, it's worth it. Food and snacks all true thé day, and thé beer and cocktails are european standard, no rubbish!!
And please don't forget to tip thé staff, People work hard and don't get paid that much. Rhodos❤️🇬🇷❤️

Just got back from avra beach, everything is fantastic. Tibi, bogdan are fantastic, made us laugh. Only downside was we booked garden view room and we got a wall, but we had a fantastic time and will be going back. Room cleaned daily, the food was excellent and plenty to choose from. Shops close by, but turn left out hotel, not much turning right unless you want a walk, hotel on beach and plenty off sun beds, plenty off bars at the hotel. All in all great hotel and wonderful staff all through. Definitely will be going back

We had a wonderful stay at Akti Imperial in Rhodes. The food was one of the highlights of our holiday. It was delicious, with a great variety of dishes every day, offering something for everyone's taste. The quality and freshness of the food were excellent.
The rooms were very comfortable, clean, and well maintained, providing everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We always looked forward to coming back to our room after a day of activities.
The service was outstanding. Every member of the staff was friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help, making us feel at home throughout our stay.
A special mention goes to the entertainment team, who were absolutely fantastic. Their enthusiasm, professionalism, and friendliness made every activity enjoyable for both adults and children. They created such a fun and welcoming atmosphere that our holiday became even more memorable.
We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for great food, comfortable accommodation, excellent service, and an amazing entertainment team. We hope to come back again!

What an amazing stay!
Everything was beyond expectations, the food was excellent and varied, the staff was kind and professional in a way that I didn’t see in any hotel in Greece up until now.
Even the cleaning staff were amazing! They cleaned the rooms twice a day, filling the mini fridge each time and making sure everything is pitch perfect.
The hotel common areas and pools always were clean and well maintained, and each day I discovered a new activity.
And again, the food, was so varied and delicious!
Will definitely be coming again.

absolutely excellent experience at Akti. Firstly I must begin by saying the staff (especially Dimos at reception) are truly wonderful, lovely, tentative and if you are Dimos then hilarious too. We felt valued as guests and some staff remembered us from one interaction which made us feel very welcomed. Ευχαριστώ to the staff! On arrival the lobby/reception area has 2 different juice machines and cups , with some biscuits too, great idea for people who’ve just traveled for ages and are waiting to check in while hungry and thirsty. The interior is beautiful with paintings on the walls and an overall lovely atmosphere. The rooms were clean and comfortable with a lovely balcony view. Only downside of my particular room was it didn’t lock all the time despite being shut the same - however housekeeping always knocked as expected so no harm done. The minibar had a good variety of alcoholic and soft drinks too. The shower was actually great for a hotel - so was the whole bathroom which was a great size and looked very luxurious. There was a vast array of food options to cater to all willingness levels to try different foods - ie there was pizza, chips, noodles, bread as much as there was greek food and foods you may not have seen before. There are 3 places you can get food and drink and 1 bar too. The lounge bar was one of my favourites - they have a giant sheltered balcony so you can be shaded from the sun, on comfy seats, with the breeze from outside while watching over the pool and hotel ground. The pools were great too ranging from quiet to lively so you can choose your pool mood. However, more shaded deckchairs would be nice as the shaded deck chairs get taken by people instantly when the pool opens leaving the others to get burnt on deckchairs completely unshaded. The beach is so close to this resort so I watched the sunset every night. What a lovely time I hope i’ll visit again someday!

What an incredible holiday! From the moment we arrived until the day we left, everything exceeded our expectations. This was a true 5-star experience from start to finish.
The hotel is in a fantastic location, with Rhodes Old Town just a short taxi ride away. Taxis were always easy to find and ran regularly, making it simple to explore the island while still enjoying the peace and comfort of the hotel.
The hotel itself was immaculate. Everywhere was spotless, the rooms were cleaned to a very high standard, and the facilities were excellent. Having the mini market, gift shops, and spa on site was a real bonus and made everything so convenient.
The food was outstanding, with an incredible variety at every meal. There was so much choice that everyone would find something they enjoyed, and the quality was excellent throughout our stay.
A very special thank you to Andrei, Anis, and all of the girls from the entertainment team. You genuinely made our holiday. Your enthusiasm, friendliness, and ability to make everyone feel welcome from day one was amazing. You all worked incredibly hard and brought such a brilliant atmosphere every single day.
Thank you to every member of staff for making our stay so memorable. We’ve come home with memories we’ll treasure for years to come and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing, fun, and truly first-class holiday.
We can’t wait to come back!

Returned from a weeks holiday travelling as a family of 4 with 2 teenage daughters. We all had such a wonderful time at the Akti Imperial. The hotel itself is very clean and well kept with really friendly staff and stunning views especially at night for the sunset.
Pool area is excellent with a wonderful animation team that work really hard to provide entertainment day and night. We were lucky enough to experience their first pink pool party.
Special mention to Andrei and Jasmine who were really friendly and chatty and made lots of time to chat to us all.
The food at all times of the day was excellent, great choice and quality. We particularly enjoyed the Asian options in the evenings in the buffet and the Gyros at lunch times at the pool snack bar.
Queues at breakfast can be long but thats to be expected at a large resort in peak season.
A short taxi ride takes you to Rhodes town, I would recommend a visit to the old town its so pretty with nice restaurants and traditional shops. The new town is good for shopping in branded shops.
I don't normally return to a hotel but I will definitely be revisiting this one.

Good view of the sea. Nice staff, good breakfast and lunch here. For a three star hotel it’s nice.
However not being given a second key to the room is weird, we are two people and sometimes we arrive different times. As I don’t have a second key the AC won’t function as it needs a card to get power…
Their private beach has too few sun beds, every hotel has their own private strip of sunbeds. Not the most comfortable beds.
Flies over food etc is also not very nice. The internet is very bad
U can pour ur own drinks, beer etc which is very good.
The doors are not «sealed» so it’s very noisy, u can hear people talking, if someone talks in the corridor u can hear it very well. It’s a gap between floor and door.
Also found mold in the shower, not very nice feeling.

Basic budget hotel. Relaxed and laid back attitude so if you want to take your lunch out of the restaurant to you sunbed you can… but don’t expect the buffet to be 1st class… it’s a budget setting so set your expectations accordingly. The hotel is generally clean and tidy but some fixtures and fittings need looking at … wall sockets working but might be a little loose. And they can’t necessarily help the drain smell in a morning. Staff were generally accommodating… mostly with a smile. Not accessible if you are mobility restricted - they do state this on the website and when we booked with TUI - lots of stairs to reception, only one lift. Great views from most rooms: sea view with amazing sunsets over Turkey which you can see easily. Road crossing outside (not difficult to cross as some have suggested) and beach accessible through a car park… with free sunbeds and fixed parasols! You can even take your bar drinks over to the beach (don’t forget your bar tokens from reception on arrival!) alcoholic drinks are limited to beer and wine during the day but include some spirits and cocktails 6-11pm. Soft drinks all day. Snacks include sandwiches, pizza slices and nuggets, with a limited fruit selection and ice cream. Breakfast lunch and dinner buffets were adequate with a reasonable selection: tzatziki and dolmas were great! Usually a few meat selections. Pork and beef always good. Chicken probably overcooked. Plenty of salad options and a few simple desserts. Not extensive as it’s a relatively small hotel but equally we never had to queue. Easy to and from the airport: taxi about €28 / 25min drive. Bus stop, decent supermarkets and cash points all close. Entertainment three times a week (singing, dancing and karaoke!) and other nights you get to chill!! Would consider going back if it remained the cheap option…

Basic hotel that provides a good base.
The receptionist was so friendly and welcoming, provided a great service and was very informative.
The room was very clean and comfortable, bit dated and basic but was comfortable.
The bar was shockingly bad. They didn’t even have Vodka, now that’s a pretty main ingredient to have at any bar. The bar staff lady wasn’t the most attentive and I didn’t feel very welcome at the pool bar.
Overall it’s a good base for the price we paid, I personally wouldn’t go all inclusive here as I think you would be rather disappointed.
Just book room only and do your own thing, if wanting all inclusive I’d personally look somewhere else.
ophelia greenwood
Overall for the price this hotel is decent. It is advertised as 3 stars and that’s what i would say it is. Rooms are good sized and cleaned daily, location is good supermarket right next door beach over the road and bars and restaurants all around (budget or not) very good views from balcony however very small. provide you with robes on the first day but remove them on the second. the shower is very very small and the room does not provide a mini fridge so water is always warm, the breakfast is the same as any other, not amazing not terrible. the pool is freezing but you can always get a sunbed around the pool side, the air conditioning in the room is temperamental and has a very strong smell from it but overall for a budget holiday it’s perfect, not somewhere if your looking for luxury though.
Omer T
Rooms are clean, bathroom was a bit narrow. Good staff. Agree with other comments, a bit noisy because of nearby hotel's central cooling/heating plants. Close to the beach. There are some restaurants and supermarketsclose to the hotels as well. Brealfast is fine

Had a lovely holiday here and would recommend. Rooms were clean, staff were friendly and the food was great. I usually find with all inclusive food repetitive but many of the food options changed daily and had something for everyone! We had 2 meals at both a la carte restaurants which were both delicious, especially the sushi which was to die for. All the service was also great; workers work super hard and long hours but were still exceptional, especially Mannos in the lobby bar!
Location was great and the hotel had easy access to shuttles from the hotels to various other places on the island at reasonable prices. Definitely worth going to see the butterfly valley! Ixia itself had everything you need and the beach was stunning especially at sunset. Though bring sea shoes for the rocks if you're going in the sea!
Rooms could maybe do with updating slightly but that's the only small downfall as they were super clean so I didn't mind so much.
Just as a side note If anyone comes across the super skinny cats across from the Spar supermarket sign and next to the bestway rent a car service, please feed them! They're super friendly and we made an effort to go feed them every day bless them!

My boyfriend and I arrived here 10th June for a 7 night stay and we unfortunately leave in the morning.
The hotel is stunning, the views are incredible and the staff are absolutely lovely.
We stayed in a beachfront suite with a private rooftop pool and the room is spacious with a large and very comfortable bed. The room was really quiet, couldn't really hear anything from neighbours or staff really which was great as I'm a really light sleeper. The rooftop pool was great, not entirely private but private enough that neighbours couldn't really see in unless they really looked through the gaps in the wall, a little good sized pool which was great to get into when you needed to cool off. 2 sun loungers next to the pool as well as 2 bean bag loungers which you could lie on in the pool.
The hotel is in a good location, some good pubs close ish by and roughly a 15 minute drive to the town.
Plenty of sun loungers by the pool and on the beach, we never struggled to find a couple to use for the day.
I liked how we could order drinks to the sun loungers free of charge however there wasn't an option to order to the hotel room free of charge, food and a mini bar refill cost extra.
There was entertainment on every single evening, ranging from rock bands, DJ dance night, saxophone performance, variety music and more.
There were very little entertainment during the day I noticed, one day we walked past the pool and it looked like they were setting up for water aerobics but nothing else during the day, however they did play some music through the speakers which wasn't too bad.
The food was good, they had different themed food nights at dinner time ranging from Asian, mexican, Italian etc but they still served pizza/chips/pasta every night anyway which was alright. The snack bar served more or less the same food every day, pizza, pastries, some sort of cheesy meat wrap (which is very nice but messy) and other wraps as well as desserts like brownies and donuts etc.
The bars serve a good collection of drinks, and I thought they were delicious 😋 only thing is they make their alcoholic drinks a bit weak so we found we had to ask for them to be stronger for it to taste like an actual alcoholic drink that you'd get in a pub.
All in all it's a very lovely hotel, I would 100% stay here again in the future.

We stayed in one of the double rooms with swim up pool and it was incredible. Really clean, and pool was lovely.
The staff here are all so incredibly friendly and helpful you as much as they can.
The all inclusive buffet is a little repetitive but we were lucky enough to be able to dine in the a la carte restaurants due to our room type. The a la carte restaurants are amazing and the food is really delicious.
Such a lovely place, and there isn't any issue with getting sunbeds either!!!
Definitely recommend

Lovely beachfront hotel with a beautiful pebble beach and pools overlooking the sea. There were always plenty of loungers available. Our room was spacious, spotless, with a well stocked minibar, and had stunning ocean views. Every member of the staff—from reception to the restaurant, bar, and housekeeping—was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Although I realized all-inclusive resorts aren’t really my style, I would happily return to this adult only hotel. I didn’t give 5 star because it was buffet food & wasn’t 5 star

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a suite with a private pool, which made our vacation even more special.
The food was delicious with a great variety, the service was excellent, and the staff were always friendly and welcoming. The location is also great close to Rhodes Town and the main attractions, while still being quiet and relaxing.
We would definitely come back and highly recommend this hotel!
What to see and do on Ixia Holidays
A plethora of attractions and landmarks awaits the eager tourist in and around Ixia and each are individually appealing. Take the Acropolis in Lindos for example, the views from the top are amazing and donkey trekking is an option if your legs won’t carry you up this wondrous sight. For a leisurely day out, take a boat trip to the beautiful island of Symi and lap up the soothing atmosphere in delightful surroundings. There are no shortage of interesting excursions to enjoy on Ixia holidays.
With Turkey only being 12 miles away from Ixia, it is worth taking the regular ferry trip and experiencing this diverse country as part of your Ixia holiday. Go shopping or wander through the narrow winding streets, take a guided tour and learn of the rich culture, either way it will not fail to please. For a more active nightlife than hotel based entertainment and a few bars, restaurants and tavernas, take the Rhodes town option, where you will find plenty of clubs and discos in addition to the restaurants, bars and shops will leave you with a lingering memory of your fantastic Ixia break.
