Although the hotel has a fantastic location, a beautiful bay, and very clean, modern rooms, we were overall disappointed with our stay. Since this is advertised as a five-star hotel, we expected a much higher standard, especially regarding service and hospitality.
Some staff members were very friendly, but there were frequent communication issues. In an international hotel, I expect at least basic communication in English to be possible, especially at reception and in guest service situations.
The breakfast buffet was also disappointing. The selection was smaller than expected, which would not necessarily have been a problem, but the cold cuts, fish, and cheese section often seemed insufficiently cooled. Especially the salmon and meat appeared to be stored at unsafe temperatures, which is concerning in such a hot climate and can become a real health risk.
Another major issue was the complete lack of vegetarian options. One person in our group was vegetarian, and there was barely anything suitable available, even during dinner service. We always had to ask for alternatives ourselves, and instead of showing initiative or trying to make the stay more comfortable for the guest, the response often felt dismissive. At one point, the only “alternative” offered was plain pasta without anything else. Even if vegetarian or vegan cuisine may not yet be common everywhere, I expect a five-star hotel to make an effort to accommodate dietary needs and provide thoughtful alternatives for guests.
We also noticed that other guests complained about various issues during our stay, so we clearly were not the only ones with concerns. The hotel itself is very large, but occupancy seemed surprisingly low, which at least made the atmosphere quiet and relaxing.
Overall, the hotel has great potential because of its location and cleanliness, but unfortunately the service and food experience did not meet five-star expectations.

dropped in for a spa and I have no idea how this is a 4-star establishment. Spa area worn down, sauna not hot enough, cold plunge isn't remotely cold, jacuzzi is luke warm. Staff was super friendly but this is 3 star max (maybe in the 90s).

One of the Worst Hotel Experiences: Zero Service & Disregard for Guest Safety
I cannot emphasize enough how strongly I advise no one to book this hotel-especially if your safety and basic human decency from staff matter to you. The service here is non-existent, and their ability to handle emergencies is simply zero. During our stay, a terrible incident happened: my friend slipped and fell while pushing luggage up the ramp at the hotel entrance. The impact was so sudden that they couldn't move after landing on the ground. What's outrageous? Every hotel staff member nearby witnessed the whole thing, yet not a single person stepped forward to ask if we needed help. It was only after I insisted repeatedly that the hotel finally called an ambulance to take my friend to the emergency room.
For nearly 2 hours-from the moment of the fall until the ambulance arrived-we were completely ignored. No staff member care about us, offered any advice, or even said a word of concern. It was as if we didn't exist, even as my friend lay injured on the ground.
What troubles me further is that I noticed most guests at this hotel are elderly people here for vacations. I can barely imagine what would happen if an elderly guest suffered such a severe fall and the hotel stood by idly the entire time. If a life- threatening situation occurred due to this negligence, could the hotel really bear the legal consequences?
This is not just a "bad service" complaint--it's a warning about a hotel that prioritizes nothing over guest safety. I am filing a strong complaint against this establishment and reserve the right to take legal action if necessary. Save yourself the risk: stay far away.

We spent four nights at Hotel Coronado Thalasso and Spa and we had truly enjoyable experience. The staff were consistently warm and welcoming, it’s hard to understand where any negative reviews come from, because everyone we encountered was genuinely friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was simple and consistent, while dinner offered a delightful variety each evening with themed menus that kept things interesting. The seawater pools were a highlight. Peaceful, uncrowded, and perfect for relaxing.
Our room faced the sea, and although it wasn’t large, it was clean, comfortable, and the view was absolutely stunning. Fresh towels were available daily from reception, which was a nice touch.
While the hotel doesn’t provide its own sunbeds and the beach out front can get quite busy, the overall atmosphere remained calm and pleasant. The shuttle service to Peguera was punctual every time, making local travel easy and stress-free.
Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. All in all, we had a lovely stay and would happily return.

I bought a day pass for the spa. It was amazing. It was very clean there too! Thank you Tony for the great service! You were very nice and friendly!
