Let's just start this review by saying this I'd the first (and only) time in 8 years travelling where we have left our originally booked hotel to find a new one; we can deal with one or two issues along the way, but this place had too many for even us to deal with.
On arrival we checked in and got the whole crap room, fancy room dance (both were rather basic and not the cleanest), we opted for the crap room as it was closer to the bar and pool.
After sorting our room we headed for food as the evening meal was due to finish soon. There was a very limited choice, next to no meat / protein except for an unknown pot of kofta looking items which were guarded by a chef. Not ideal but we hoped for a bit of variety across the stay. Drinks were available in thimble sized glasses not ideal, but not a problem as we could just go up more. As we were leaving a member of the entertainment team told us about an event at the pool bar at 2130. Perfect we thought!
So we finished food and went to the pool bar, to be told it's now closed and drinks aren't available until 10am. So we checked at reception and they told us to go find a bar on the main road and drink there, not quite what we had planned for our all inclusive trip. This was also the last straw for us.
So we checked the terms of our booking and followed the appropriate steps and addressed the hotel reception directly with our concerns. For lack of a better way of putting it, we were fobbed off.
So we sat by the pool (on a chair that felt ready to collapse) and booked a different hotel there and then. We grabbed our bags, checked out and went to the taxi rank we saw on our way in earlier that evening. In total we were there for around 2 hours and it was 2 hours too long.
Listen to the reviews, don't stay here, spend a bit more money on a better resort or hotel; you'll enjoy your holiday far more!

A month ago, I vacationed in this hotel. The first thing they do is give you the worst possible room, if you want a better room YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT, even though the agency offers the best room you can pay for. The fault lies on both sides, on the agency's side and on the hotel's side.
The staff is nice except the people at the reception, they constantly offered the worst possible rooms until you argue with them so much that they give you a better room because you paid for it all. Just to mention that I paid for a room with a terrace and a view of the beach, in the end the only thing they offered me that was acceptable was a small room (the only one that was decent) without a terrace and with a view of the main street below the night club.
The beach within the hotel is wonderful and the employees on the beach are very friendly. Wiz and Shagy are the best animators in the world.
The food in the hotel is not bad, but it could be better. Rooms are generally the cleanest when you leave them a tip. I didn't have a problem with the cleaners, they are always nice both when you tip them and when you don't. Within the hotel you have two restaurants, we used Panorama and it is really nice, the head chef is very nice and will always offer you the best.
All in all, it was very nice, but I would never visit this hotel again.

At first glance, Elysees Hotel doesn’t look bad at all. The building is decent, the beach is actually beautiful, and you arrive with the hope that you’ve made a good choice. Unfortunately, once the stay begins, reality slowly but consistently pulls you back to the ground.
Let’s start with something basic: the room key cards. Opening the door felt like a daily challenge. Every single time we returned to the room, we lost around 10 minutes just trying to get inside. The cards rarely worked properly, so we often had to call someone from the staff to help. The best part? The door magically opened when reception staff tried it, usually accompanied by a look that clearly said “It works for me, maybe you just don’t know how to use it.” Not exactly the welcome feeling you expect after a long day.
Now, about the all-inclusive buffet. If you love chicken, you might actually enjoy it here. If not… good luck. The food options were extremely limited, repetitive, and uninspired. After a few days, it felt like chicken was the only protein known to mankind. Variety is almost non-existent, and by the end of the stay, eating became more of a necessity than a pleasure.
The WiFi almost inexistent through all the hotel.
The staff experience, especially at reception, was probably the most disappointing part. Reception should be the face of a hotel, but here it felt cold, unfriendly, and clearly tip-oriented. In many situations, it felt like money was expected rather than appreciated. There were even subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) attempts to push “premium” rooms under the table. If you refused, you somehow ended up in rooms where sleeping was nearly impossible due to traffic noise or other disturbances. Coincidence? Hard to believe.
If you plan to enjoy a drink at the bar, prepare yourself for a serious contribution to plastic pollution. Drinks are served in tiny 100 ml plastic cups, usually half full. If you politely ask for a full one, you’ll be rewarded with judgmental looks from the staff, as if you’ve just committed a social crime. Relaxation shouldn’t come with guilt or awkward stares.
Although the hotel is advertised as child-friendly, this is more of a marketing label than reality. There are no real activities for children. None. The main “attraction” is the heated pool — which, during our entire week, was heated for exactly one day. Maybe heating it is also a paid extra… who knows? 🙂
Final Thoughts
This hotel has potential. It really does. The location is good, the beach is beautiful, and the building itself isn’t bad at all. But without proper staff training and a genuine customer-first mentality, Elysees risks ending up like many other abandoned and decaying hotels you can already see along the coast.
Advice for Future Guests
Pay a little more and choose a better-balanced option. You’ll spend that extra money anyway on external restaurants because hunger will inevitably push you outside the hotel due to the lack of food variety. In the end, saving a few euros here might cost you comfort, patience, and enjoyment

The hotel is cozy and comfortable. The staff always responded to requests and suggestions.
The beach is incredibly beautiful. And the hotel's animation is a special love 🤍
I will come here again.

I wanted to pay at the bar near the pool and the total price for one water and one Sprite was 130 egyptian pounds and I gave the man 200 egyptian pounds but the man had no change and decided to write me a so called ticket that I had to pay at the reception when I leave the hotel and I asked him if I could get something for 70 Egyptian pounds and he dosent understand english so i used google translate and he Said one Big water is 70 Egyptian pounds so i Said yes give me that and he writes me another so called fine but the price was 200 pounds but he still dosent understand me. My opinion is that it is really really bad that some of the staff dosent speak english
