Lovely clean hotel,friendly staff. Good food , Nice big spacious rooms and balcony .albeit a bit dated,but this is being addressed at the end of the year . Nice pool ,good entertainment for all the family during the day by the pool and in the evening with shows at the sister hotel across the road. Very good location for the beach, lots of restaurants if you don’t want to eat in the hotel. Beautiful views of the mountains and sea, a disabled accessible beach as well.

I have just read a horrible review for this hotel from someone & I totally disagree. My husband & I have been coming to this hotel since 2015, sometimes twice a year, we have always been treated well. We are british & no one discriminate's against us infact it's the opposite. EVERY member of staff from management to maintenance are polite & welcoming. We love the esmeralda hotel & the resort. We're just sad that they will be closing in October for refurbishment & we're not shaw when they will be re-opening. Thankyou all for the lovely times we've had in the past at your hotel. The food was very good, always diversified something to everyone's taste. The chefs do their job very well, especially Mrs. Maria, who was always attentive to the buffet and very friendly.I can't say the same about the rooms. They need major rooms improvements.When I booked the pictures looked different from what I found in the room, and I don't mean cleaning, but furniture. I give it 4 stars just because the food was exceptional and the staff friendly.

We spent a fantastic week at the Esmeralda Hotel. Everything was just right from the tasty food and clean cafeteria to the friendly and professional reception staff. A special thank you to Juljan, the pool lifeguard, who made me and my family feel truly welcomed. Despite most guests speaking Spanish, he was the only one who spoke to us in English, and his kindness and hospitality stood out. He made a real difference in our stay

Great location, steps away from the promenade and all amenities. We had a very quiet bedroom with sea views! The room was very spacious and clean but really outdated. We had half board and the food was ok, Saturday evening better than Friday with some seafood, breakfast fine also. The reception staff was very helpful and friendly. We received a call a couple of hours after checking in to ask if everything was ok!!! For me the nicest part of the stay was a therapeutic massage by Nancy! The only negative part was that it only lasted 30 min (as there was no availability for an hour massage). As a past physiotherapist and esthetician I know a good massage! I needed a deep tissue and I have to say it was one of the best massages I have had! Highly recommend Nancy.

The spa facilities were incredible value with a range of saunas, jacuzzis, showers, cold plunge and more. The couples full body massage was so relaxing and soothing. Kelly and Gema did such a good job and making us feel comfortable and at ease as well as removing all our muscle tension. Would recommend this experience to anyone.

I did not stay at the hotel but I did use the gym facilities. The front desk staff in the spa/gym area were fantastic. Very friendly and willing to help. I did use their personal training service and I was very happy with my trainer Dani. I found him to be very knowledgeable and great at his job. He made the sessions fun and I feel I got really great workouts. If I’m ever in the area again I will be definitely using their services again. Thank you to the staff for giving me a great experience.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at the pool terrace, thanks to the incredible service from Karenth and Viktor. They truly went above and beyond to make our time special. The drinks were excellent—perfectly made and served with care—and their friendly, welcoming attitude made all the difference. Karenth and Viktor created such a great atmosphere with their professionalism and genuinely warm hospitality. They were attentive without being intrusive, always making sure we had everything we needed while keeping the vibe relaxed and enjoyable. If you’re visiting the pool terrace, you’re in great hands with them. Outstanding service, great drinks, and a super pleasant experience overall. Highly recommended!

We recently took a tour of the property, and safe to say, my partner and I are officially sold. Between the ridiculously welcoming staff, sleek modern rooms, and enviable balconies, they had us at hello. Add in a 90-minute spa session that practically melted our stresses away and an exquisite Japanese dinner that had us questioning all our past life choices, and it’s official: if you’re looking to trade everyday reality for pure luxury, this place is an absolute must.

Great value hotel for a short break on the Costa Blanca. A striking building (much nicer than most in the resort!) in a great location close to the beach, the strip and supermarkets. Excellent service, clean, comfy big beds and a decent half board buffet. Bar drinks reasonably priced. Absolutely lovely pool (no inflatables!!) with plenty of sun beds, no need to reserve!! A very pleasant 25 mins walk to town centre and old town via the flamingo salt lake. East to get to Benidorm by bus/tram too.

Just got back from here and we had a great time. Hotel was clean and facilities were good. Im a vegetarian and they done veggie options like veggie chilli, good selection. Family friendly and quiet. No stupidness with subbed hogging, ppl were respectful. Big thank you to jeorge from the Animation team as he saw me having a mini panic when we walked quite high up the mountain walk and he took me u see his wing and helped me all the way :-)

Wow! What a gem of a 4* hotel!! Loved it from the minute we checked in, arrived mid morning from an early flight, room wasn’t ready, gave us a voucher for the first drink on the hotel - nice touch! We were half board. The room, stunning, two double beds, fridge, kettle and tea/coffee in room. Safe - free to use. Clean bright bathroom, lush free toiletries and fresh towels every day. Good quality pool towels for a cash refundable deposit - and changed fresh every day with no charge. Ray on reception was most helpful with our questions and queries and sorted us out with a breakfast to go bag as our departure is due before breakfast opens. Our first visit to the hotel, but won’t be our last. And if we do return I would do AI, as what they offered was amazing. Thanks for a great stay - thought we haven’t actually left let. Room 1002. Big shout out to ALL restaurant staff who were all so friendly and polite. And thanks to the lovely reception staff.

A lovely hotel. Comfortable beds, each 4ft wide per person. Rooms cleaned very well every day. Food very good quality. Indoor pool lovely and warm. Decent gym. Outside pool not heated. Very good location near to the beach and flamingo lake.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Friendly staff who are very attentive in all areas from restaurants to room service. The beds are huge and comfy. Food is amazing and fresh no matter what time you go. Highly recommend this hotel. Thank you for a brilliant holiday 😄

We had the best stay at Sol y Mar. We were originally booked to stay for 5 nights and planned to travel further along the coast. We enjoyed the facilities and the location so much, that we extended our stay at the hotel for the full duration of our trip. The staff are so friendly, Danielle at reception made us feel so welcome and definitely made our stay extra special. The hotel is spotlessly clean, we thank Luz for the great job she did on our rooms each day. We stayed in sea view rooms, which were just spectacular. The breakfast is amazing, there is something for everyone. We can’t recommend Sol y Mar enough. We hope to return again in September to this wonderful hotel.

We’ve just returned from our family holiday and wedding in Spain, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We spent the majority of our stay at Suitopia with our three children, and it was absolutely perfect for a family trip. We also stayed at the Sol y Mar Hotel on the night of our wedding as a newly married couple, and although our stay was short, it was truly stunning. It was the perfect way to end such a special day, and we will 100% be returning for a longer break in the future. A special mention must go to Yasmine. The night before our wedding we organised a pre-drinks evening at the Doreè, and she was nothing short of incredible. So attentive, kind, and honest—nothing was ever too much trouble for her. She was an absolute joy to work with and a real credit to the Estemar team. The wider team working at the Doreè that evening were also outstanding and helped make the night feel so special and seamless. If we could do it all again, we would in a heartbeat. Please pass on our heartfelt thanks and recognition to everyone involved—they truly deserve it.

We have stayed here on 5 occasions and each one as good as the next. We got married here in sept 24 in the area in a nearby venue with friends and family staying here for the wedding. The Hotel looked after us magnificently for our wedding and our guests were very impressed. Lovely rooms, modern clean with a beautiful scenic beach club as part of offering. The bar is lovely and they have live music most nights.

Went here on a girls trip. Amazing hotel, clean, perfect location right on the beach, service was brilliant, staff are all so lovely and lots of entertainment at the hotel, food was brilliant, we had breakfast included and it’s definitely one of the best continental breakfast, so fresh. Even the bar by the pool served brilliant food and the hotel room beds were so comfortable, had a great night sleep. Couldn’t fault it and I’d definitely come back to this hotel.

Fantastic location right on Beach, stayed 2 Bed Apt ( ESTIMAR Apartments, part of same complex) Had breakfast 2 mornings what a selection & hot foods cooked to order. €18 pp but included if staying in hotel B & B. Staff super friendly, Bar area fantastic sea views. Beach Club absolutely stunning, provides Towels. Cushions & Sun creams. Will definitely be back

Our trip was amazing! The location of this place is beautiful and peaceful with also some shops along the beach. We didn't have many issues with our stay at all, the staff were lovely, offering us peanuts, sweets and crisps to go along with our drinks and when we were checking out the man at reception asked us if we would like some water for our journey home. Our main issue was the buffet, often the food in the buffet was cold and at dinner time as a vegetarian my options were limited. I had another family member staying with me and they came across raw fish a couple of times. The breakfast buffet was a bit better, there was lots of options however the roasted tomatos were still cold most of the time. The room facilities were amazing, we were given many free things with our room such as robes, shower caps, foot cream, pillow spray and our fridge was stocked up with water and pineapple juice. We decided to upgrade and use the kitchen facilities and this definitely came in handy. We were about €15 a day for the facilities and it was definitely worth it as we were able to keep all of our drinks cold on warm days and we also got access to the freezer where we were able to store ice. The room service was great, our room got mopped everyday and we also got new towels every day. Overall we would definitely stay here again, our stay was amazing and very relaxing!

Fantastic accommodation! This was the first time I had to stay somewhere on my own, and the staff made me feel comfortable and safe from the very beginning. A special thank you to Carmen, who often brought me my meals, Carlos at reception, and the housekeeper for their kindness, enthusiasm, and helpfulness. They made my stay even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. Whether you are travelling alone, with friends, or with family. There are plenty of activities for children, but they are in separate areas, so they do not disturb other guests. The hotel also offers various activities and events for guests, which adds to the overall experience. The hotel has a spa, a gym, spacious rooms, and breathtaking views. I am quite particular about cleanliness, and I can honestly say that this is one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed. The location is excellent as well, with the beach, shops, and restaurants all within walking distance. Thank you all for everything. I had a wonderful stay and hope to return in the future!

This was a perfect hotel for the whole family. A fantastic kids club for our boys. They absolutely loved going. Lots of games and video games to play. This gave us some valuable time to get ourselves ready to out. The staff were so good with the kids and the boys liked them. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom was great with great water pressure. Just watch the kids don’t flood the area!! Location and pools are perfect and the beach did not disappoint! Will def be back. Thank you Estimar!

We have stayed at this hotel several times over the years and have always enjoyed our visits. It has a great location, the rooms are modern, spacious, and comfortable, and the staff are friendly and helpful. This time, however, we felt the hotel had changed a little. The biggest disappointment was the pool area. It wasn't so much the facilities themselves, but rather the overall management and cleanliness. Food purchased from the pool bar was often left around the sunbeds, and empty glasses and other items from the bar were not cleared away frequently enough. As a result, the pool area didn't feel as clean or well looked after as we remembered. Overall, we still had a pleasant stay and would happily return, but we believe the pool area would benefit from better supervision, more frequent clearing of tables and sunbeds, and clearer enforcement of the hotel's rules to maintain the high standard we experienced on our previous visits.

We returned again to our favourite hotel in Calpe, It is our 6th time. They had installed chrome cast this time, however our device didnt connect and the technicians couldn't fix it. So again no dutch tv channels. The standard channels were mainly English, German and Spanish. So let down for a luxury hotel and easy to fix I guess. Especially when there are also dutch tourists We noticed the hotel was far busier then previous years and also way more English (70% ). Maybe due to jet2holidays which has taken up the hotel in their programm? A bit different clientele from the previous years. Also the coffeecups are still not for sale at the supermarket. And this new illy machine is also a let down. Why not keep the nespresso machine? There was hardly any adult entertainment in the evening apart from a dj at the skybar. But not singer/performer in the lobby. Apart from this the housekeeping is excellent and the rooms and balcony and location is great. I hope however that the above concerns will be sorted upon our next visit.
