Hotel was clean the maids did an amazing job, we had a family deluxe room which was nice. Other family member had a standard room which was very tired and basic. We suffered many power cuts and water going off during our week here which only seemed to effect the new part of the hotel.
We was bed and breakfast by day 3 we was fed up with breakfast options and did not go back but the food was well set up and again staff where very helpful.
Lovely big pool and lots of sunbeds.

We were apprehensive before going as this hotel seems to get some very polarized reviews. People either hate or or love it.
I can understand now having been there. Some of the rooms are new and modern which deserve the 4 star rating. These are mainly the luxury or superior rooms located across the road from the main hotel. The older rooms in the main hotel are hit and miss. Some are satisfactory and though dated, everything works as expected. Our family room was fine. Aircon worked (though you have to pay extra 20 euros per night for this), safe worked (extra 20 euros), door locked, shower didn't leak, fridge worked and cooking facilities all worked. We did hear complaints from other guests of issues with some of these facilities.
So for us (two adults, two children 13 & 16) we had no issues. The room was fine. The aircon worked though it was difficult to cool the mezzanine kids room as the aircon was downstairs.
We didn't need to ask the reception staff for anything and they were always friendly. The staff around the pool were brilliant. The drinks / food service they give you to your sun bed is excellent. The pool itself is amazing. You will always get a sunbed but if you want prime position you may need to put a towel down around 9-9.30am.
The location of the hotel is perfect. 5 mins to the beach and a stones throw from the main road and restaurants / bars.
Overall for the price it's great value and I'd go again.
Check out my other reviews for restaurants we visited in the area.

By reading the responses to the comments, I can conclude that the reception lady that is rude and yells at guests is also responding to the comments 😀😄.
Eitherway, besides the fact that we were yelled at when checking in, the breakfast was good, and the room was not (mold smell and there were a lot of dysfunctional stuff in the bathroom).
Bar and Pool area are great. Rooms cleaned everyday.

There are a lot of conflicting reviews of this hotel and a lot of confusion. If you want 4* rooms you need to book the Deluxe Rooms. They are very modern and beautifully done. They are only in the block across the road from the main hotel. Ground level rooms are swim ups and there is a long semi private pool area for Deluxe guests only.1st level rooms are family rooms with mezzanine level second bedroom and a balcony. In my opinion they are well worth the extra. We booked through On the Beach in the UK, which was very clear about the room options at the hotel, at the time of booking. All room types were available and it is a matter of personal choice. If you're budget allows it, I can highly recommend to go Deluxe. If not the photos on the hotel website also show the standard rooms, both doubles and family rooms. They are more basic and of an older European style, but clean and tidy.
The hotel gets its recent 4* rating because it does have some 4* rooms. But also it's fantastic 4* amenities. The huge main swimming pool is exceedingly good, pretty, tropical vibe and probably the best in Alykanas. Misos bar/restaurant is in the middle of the pool area. It is also open to non guests, just the same as all the other hotels here. There is a huge amount of sunbeds. Just purchase something to drink from the bar waiters, who are all charming. You can't take your own drinks and snack to the pool area.
The hotel has a Gym, supermarket, ice cream parlour and launderette. If you are b&b or half board basis the hotel restaurant does lovely breakfasts 7.30am to 10am. Continental and full English buffet. The evening meals are also, in my opinion, lovely and delicious. Lovely salads and main courses buffet style. Plenty of choice. Head waiter is a gracious man and extremely helpful. Desserts are wonderful and fruit is always available.
Letsos is a lovely hotel. Yes, it's not absolutely perfect, but this is Greece. The staff are lovely, welcoming and accommodating.
All you need to do is decide on what your priorities are in terms of your accommodation and your budget. Ignore all the negative comments. They are just a few moaners. You don't spend much time in your room anyway. Try the hotel. If you don't like it, then go somewhere different next year. But I think you'll find it difficult to beat in Alykanas. Overall the hotel is excellent for a small greek island. Close to the beach; only a few minutes walk. It's located at one end of the main shopping/restaurant& bars street. Location is ideal.

Pictures for deluxe maisonette are deceiving about having pool next to room.
Constant power outages all week which affects water to the room, not very helpful.
The main pool went very cloudy on the second day and never came back to the same all week. The deluxe pools were slightly cleaner but less people were using them. Unsure why the sink was in the living area instead of the bathroom, a bit strange.
