Wooooo!!!!!!! We were at this hotel 2 years ago and it has been a full remodel. Greco family invested big time for long term luxury and special experience for guests. Located close to interstate- about 2 1/2-3 hours east drive from Athens.. Rooms are incredibly styled, the front entry of hotel has cool coastal luxury design with tons of touches and artwork. We were greeted upon entry with fresh juice, an amazing welcome and assistance. The landscape of second to none. The pool decking, pool interior and design creates a reflection of the Mediterranean Sea. This is the only private hotel directly in the beach in Kalamata. If you are looking for an amazing property, room, pool on the beach with an umbrella, look no further. This is high end quiet family friendly hotel where you go to relax. Jet skis, boats, water activities are about a mile down the road but not at this hotel. Greco family hit a grand slam with this property! Get here quick before the word gets out regarding the full transformation.

I honestly cannot praise this hotel enough.
We have just returned home from an absolutely incredible stay at Grecotel, and from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, every single member of staff made our holiday feel special.
Our welcome at the entrance from Nikos and the porter immediately set the tone for what was to come. The warmth, professionalism and genuine kindness shown throughout our stay were simply exceptional. From the reception team to the restaurant staff, housekeeping, beach staff, lifeguards, spa team and our driver back to the airport, every department delivered service of the highest standard.
Most importantly, the memories we have made as a family will stay with us forever, and every member of staff played a part in creating those memories.
Our room was beautiful and had everything we needed and more. A special thank you to our room maid, whose attention to detail never went unnoticed. Each day our room was immaculate, and she would often place our daughter’s teddy bear on the bed in a different creative way. Such a small gesture, but one that brought a smile to our daughter’s face every day and perfectly demonstrated the care and pride your staff take in their work.
The restaurant team were outstanding. The service was warm, attentive and professional at all times. They were overseen by a gentleman whose name I unfortunately never caught, but who clearly leads by example. I watched him deliver the same five-star service to every guest, whether helping a 91-year-old gentleman with his chair or serving an ice cream to a young child. I also observed how he supported and coached his staff with kindness, patience and respect. It was a pleasure to watch. I even had the privilege of receiving a pint of Alfa with from him during our stay, maybe he noticed my appreciation for him. I was disappointed not to have the opportunity to say goodbye and personally thank him before we left.
The food deserves a review all of its own. “Amazing” simply doesn’t do it justice. Every meal was fresh, varied and beautifully prepared. The evening dining catered for every age and taste, while the children’s lunch options were particularly impressive and a thoughtful touch that families will greatly appreciate.
The pools were spotless throughout our stay. The presence of lifeguards, even though the pools are 1.40m deep or shallower, this simply provides reassurance and demonstrated the hotel’s commitment to guest safety.
The beach was another highlight. Yes, it is a pebble beach, but the smooth pebbles are beautiful and somehow become part of the experience. There are well-maintained paths leading to the sun loungers, and the sea itself is crystal clear, warm and wonderfully calm during the mornings and evenings. Snorkelling is a must for children. Having beach staff available to provide drinks and food service directly to your sunbed was another fantastic touch. Jelly shoes would be advisable, otherwise there is just no way to look good walking to the sea, it’s like you’re walking on hot coals! But it does entertain onlookers.
We also made use of the gym and spa facilities. The gym was well equipped with everything needed for a good workout, and once again the staff were welcoming, friendly and professional.
To the General Manager:
Your hotel is visually stunning, but beautiful buildings alone do not create unforgettable holidays. People do.
What you have achieved at Grecotel is something far more valuable. You have built a team of exceptional people who genuinely care about their guests and clearly enjoy what they do. That culture can only come from strong leadership and a workplace where staff feel valued and respected.
As guests, we felt that every day.
We are not a family that typically returns to the same hotel or even the same destination. There is simply too much of the world we still want to see. Yet for the first time, we left a hotel discussing not where we should go next, but when we might come back.
Thank you for giving our family memories that will last a lifetime.
With sincere gratitude
Katherine
Stay every year. One of our favorite hotels in the world. Rooms are amazing, beds are comfortable, service is impeccable. The breakfast buffet is awesome. The location is great being right on the beach with three pools. Excellent experience and hospitality.

I highly recommend this hotel:
1. People are amazing, very kind and helpful. They even found a back pain cream for my mother. Staff at the restaurant, beach and everywhere were amazing. Hotel manager (Panos) was super helpful too. We asked for a quiet room, with nice view, and we got precisely what we wanted.
2. Sea and views are spectacular! Water is crystal clear. Especially if you swim in the morning its like being in a movie! Its also quiet, and not crowded (27 may to 6 June)
3. Hotel and rooms are renovated! This is very important! Doing my research, I have realised that often in Greece hotels may be old (it happened last year to me, that pictures dont show that).
I highly recommend this place! I travel a lot, and i think this is one of the best places in Europe!

We stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks - my husband and I, and my in-laws. First of all, I would like to thank the hotel for the amazing service, especially from the front desk. My in-laws had some issues with their room and the front desk staff and manager upgraded their room and made sure they are comfortable.
The renovation the hotel goes through is gorgeous - our rooms were completely renovated and tastefully decorated. Shower was perfect. The outside amenities - beach and pool area, are stunning. The location is on the south edge of Kalamata but still in a walking distance from bars and restaurants, on the beach promenade. We had a wonderful experience there and will definitely book with Grecotel again in the future.
