My wife and I had a lovely stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Izmir Alsancak. We were warmly welcomed on arrival, and the reception team was very helpful special thanks to Cansi for her great personality and local tips. The breakfast staff were friendly and did a wonderful job explaining local breakfast options. The only minor issue was the centrally controlled heating, which felt a bit warm. Overall, excellent service and a 5-star experience. We would happily stay again.

Super welcoming team, a nice terrace restaurant with a outdoor small swimming pool, a long chair area to enjoy the sun and the beautiful view on the bay and the mountains. Bedrooms are big and they provide lots of services, welcome cocktail and so on. Everything is made to ease your stay. 24/24 small gym club, a nice breakfast buffet also

Kutay ve Evren cok super personnel. Friendly. Professional, always greets everyone with a smile. Also the lovely lady, who's name is forgot but her birthday is coming soon - 18 Subatta. Please don't forget her.

good base for business trip. warm welcoming service and supportive - above all Team at Rooftop bar, at the breakfast and the reception. recommend to tip them in the beginning - its a sign of respect. Sergen-Bey very helpful to let us enter the fitness room and friendly offering tea or coffee during chatting.
Elif and Yusuf, Yagmur, Ceren, and the Managers are a Dream-Team at the Rooftop Bar. Also the meals were very good.just the beer price needs to be moderated.

I'm not sure how this hotel is rated as four stars or how it manages to trade under the Hilton name. I wish I had done more research before I booked. A few of the issues in my two night stay:
1. When I arrived, the girl at the desk spent a solid minute texting on her phone before she finally looked up to check me in. It's not like she didn't know I was there, as the guy who helped me with my bags alerted her to it.
2. No welcome cookie! Now I didn't know that was a thing until later but still feel a bit cheated.
3. My room stank of cigarette smoke, despite being on a non-smoking floor.
4. Aircon didn't work.
5. Breakfast was an additional, obscene fee. Obviously I ate elsewhere but it should be included in the room price.
6. Sauna was decent but perplexed by the mixed sex change rooms, as well as their separation from the actual spa, meaning one has to walk through reception dressed in only a towel.
Overall it was disappointing as I'd heard great things about DoubleTree.
