Overall, this resort offers a wonderful and relaxing experience. The facilities are well maintained, the atmosphere is calm and inviting, and the location is ideal for a beachside getaway. Everything is thoughtfully designed to make guests feel comfortable and well looked after.
Further, the restaurants offer a good variety of dishes, including vegetarian options.
A special mention must go to Von at Laku Beach Club, whose service truly stood out. Von was attentive, friendly, and genuinely committed to making our experience exceptional. From the warm welcome to the consistent attention to detail throughout our time at the beach club, the service was outstanding and made a real difference to our stay.

We loved the room size, they were well appointed and had a modern design. The resort grounds were amazing, like a tropical paradise! The food was good with a large selection to choose from, one of the best breakfast buffets we've had. My daughter and I had a great time with the stand up paddle boards and bicycles to explore the village and the other side. My son and I loved the pool table and ping pong table. I highly recommend considering Barcelo Coconut Island for your next Thai adventure!

Family of 6 came for a relaxing Xmas and new year holiday and it didn't disappoint. Service was amazing, staff very friendly and attentative. My husband unfortunately was on crutches for this holiday but everyone was helpful and he felt looked after.
The Christmas and New Year Celebrations were amazing. Honestly so good. A lot of prep had gone into the events and everyone should be very pleased with themselves.
Was a little confused with the All Inclusive aspect as not everything is included so make sure to ask beforehand. Think only one restaurant is All inclusive, the others you pay a supplement for.
Just one niggle which was the adult slide. Not sure if it had been patch repaired while we were there but all four in our group that went down it after day 3 got cuts on their torsos
Big thank you to the waiter Kyle who always had a smile on his face, was very competent with his work and helped customers and colleagues whenever he could. He is an absolute credit to the hotel and brand.

We had the most amazing stay here. Me and my partner stayed here for 7 nights. We stayed in the jacuzzi suite which was gorgeous with so much space. Daily housekeeping was amazing and they top up drinking water too. The staff were so attentive and friendly and couldn’t do enough to help you. Although food and drink in the hotel were quite expensive (western prices) there are a handful of nearby restaurants and bars on the island that are more local prices. They have entertainment on every night like fire shows on the beach, cooking demonstrations and live music. The facilities like the pool and the gym were all spotless and very modern. The hotel offers a free long tail boat to a neighbouring island (rang yai) which is so pretty and a must do. They also offer other excursions but they are a bit more pricey than online but worth it for ease. The shuttle boat to mainland is so easy and goes every hour. I saw some reviews that were complaining about bugs/animals around the hotel- you’re staying in a jungle there will of course be some wildlife. Aircon in the room was very good too. Overall 10/10 stay

We had a nice family holiday with our two boys (8 and 12) at Barcelo Coconut, including New Year's Eve (they did try a lot and managed to have a nice programe and organization given there are few hundreds people in the hotel), until the 7th of January. We had a beachfront villa which made our stay much nicer, waking up and having the direct view. The hotel is quite old and has been taken over recently by Barcelo, but not all rooms have been renovated so far. So we got a really old one, while we saw others have been refitted and looked better. From our room the access to the beach at 10 m from our room was quite difficult, no access made, at least not yet. While other rooms had dedicated steps and access, so probably this will follow for all rooms. In the old rooms, besides the outdated style and worn out materials etc., you get a lot of noise as the windows/doors are more of curtains in terms of isolation. And there are a lot of noises, as there is no management of it there, maintenance boats coming in early in the morning, workers around etc. But you get used to everything and we ended up enjoying the beautiful nice relaxed place just as it was...
Somehow we had all inclusive regime, which helped as you get discounts to wines and to Laku Restaurant, as well as all day long drinks and especially food for kids. Food is decent, not great. You get Thai dishes as well as international ones. We ate mostly at Laku Restaurant (not incl in the all inclussive menu) which is as good as it you can find there for wines/drinks and food. The Kabang Restaurant&Bar, located right on the beach, is very nice place to spend a relaxed morning - day - afternoon at the beach. Very relaxed atmosphere. They organise all sorts of nights so your stay is not completely linear. Unfortunately, no matter where in the hotel, the service is very slow, but like very slow. So you need to calibrate on that so it does not bother you. Also, breakfast around 9:30-10:00 is nearly impossible to find a table. Otherwise, staff is very friendly and nice and willing to serve and please. They offer pure local coconut, which you should take advantage of during the stay.
Transfer is offered by the hotel following a clear schedule, unfortunately conditioned to the tide, so you need to plan a bit your going outs. Checking in/out it is well organized, you basically dont touch your luggage, they take care of everything golf cart/boat/transfer etc.
They offer a nice selection of excursions, groups or private. We have organised, thanks to Ted, some nice ones with a private speed boat, which were exactly what we needed in a 10 day stay. Beautiful places around; the company the hotel works with for these trips is doing a good job, we had really nice time with our guide Sexy Billy, very nice person, knowledgable and doing a good job for his clients (Thank you!). So trips are recommended. They have a good spa to get some relaxation/message and a fair gym and 2 tennis courts, to get some exercise and make some room for a Tom Yum or a ribeye :) The prices are not cheap, not expensive either, so you need to consider this when reviewing my insights above. To set the right expectations (hopefully) It is a good option for a moderate price, but not for the high end segment. It is not for the high end customers, they will be disappointed if they dont calibrate. Overall, location is nice, far from crowded beaches, the atmosphere very relaxed, and the hotel has a lot of potential, hopefully Barcelo management will be able to exploit its key opportunities.
