Sorry to say this was one of bthe most disappointing hotels I've stayed in recent years.
Sells itself as a four star when I feel it is far from that.
Facilities wise, and cleanliness, it ticks boxes.
As an example, the place is mostly spotless and the team work hard to keep it that way.
That said, the place is overdue a refurbishment.
Our bathroom had areas of black grout in the tiling. The bathroom sink was damaged and poorly repaired, as was the bathroom door (it has been hastily filled and badly painted) and even missing/broken tiles were filled and painted poorly.
The outdoor seating area/balcony to our room was made up of unfinished/rough concrete walls that had been simply painted. Pretty unsightly and cheap.
I've never before stayed at a hotel that puts plastic (incontinence?) Sheets/covers over their mattresses??? Not nice.
Service was, at times, very good. But when ordering drinks with dinner it failed terribly as even after three requests our wine arrived after we'd almost finished our meal. At their 'premium' restaurant we were sat at a glass panel that was visibly cracked top to bottom and over looked the children's play area with the associated noise throughout dinner.
There are not enough sunbeds, by far. The early morning towel warriors snapped up 70% of the sunbeds before breakfast and yes, they were often empty for hours. You would think when the beds are in such short supply that the hotel would introduce a system, and manage it. After all, it is supposed to be four star, not a cheap and cheerful Costa! They did supplement the sun beds with cheap folding chairs during the day, but just not up to standard.
Plus points
Food was fresh and tasty, but not special. Lunch was standard fare, lots of fried stuff, and not especially cheap.
Location was OK with stunning views /sunsets, but a serious set of over 90 very steep steps or a long hill to the bus stop.
Staff were friendly!
Overall - I'll not be back

The hotel is located on an excellent beach, right next to best beach in the area. The rooms are good and comfortable. The hotel staff are very kind. The best part of our stay was the food—it was absolutely excellent. Special compliments to the chefs.

A beautiful hotel on the beautiful island of Skiathos.
Pro’s
- free hotel bus to the airport, Skiathos town (20 mins), Maratha and Koukanaras beach which saves taxi rides and steep steps down to the beach/road
- beautiful big pool, kids allowed to use floats too
- views and sunsets are incredible
- lots of sun loungers and seating areas in the sun and shade around the pool and sundeck all with amazing view of the sea and beaches below
- bus stop 22 on the main road just below hotel (steep steps but not far) which is between €2-3 euros a trip to the airport, town or beaches. Runs every 15 mins until 1am and made it so easy to get around the island without spending lots on taxi’s
- staff are so friendly and helpful, lots of staff in restaurant/bar to clear plates, take orders quickly. Very good service
- Maratha beach is stunning, very small and unspoilt and has WiFi from hotel too. Only con is you have to pay €30 for two sun loungers/umbrella for the day even though it’s part of the hotel and has the Skiathos palace beach bar there! Good for cold drinks/ice creams. Some space for sunbathing without loungers but very small beach.
- good variety for breakfast
Con’s
- views, and facilities (pool, dining areas, beach) all look like 4/5* hotel I’d say the rooms and bathrooms especially are more 3/4*
- Food isn’t 4-5*, buffet restaurant in evenings was ok but had to pay to order nicer items from à la carte menu and the white view restaurant with a view albeit a very reasonable price though
- lots of steps may be an issue if you have mobility issues - hotel has no lift and is quite spread out, steep steps to and from road/beaches

We have stayed here every year for the last four years and I think this is the last year. The staff are quite rude. I know it’s a luxury hotel and while the main staff in the view restaurant and breakfast are lovely, the remaining staff are quite snide and mean. I don’t understand the bitterness, but other guests mentioned the same to us.

My daughter &I have just stayed at the Skiathos Palace hotel and I must say it was just perfect. The room we had was clean and stylish with a fantastic large balcony that had the most amazing view.
The food was excellent, we are both vegetarian but plenty on offer including soya milk at breakfast. Our waiters Costas &Thanos were extremely attentive, always had a smile and made us so welcome. The reception staff were helpful at all times and our room had fresh towels and cleaned everyday.
The steps to the hotel from the beach were quite steep however there was a shuttle bus to make it easier for guests.
I would definitely return to the Skiathos palace Thankyou for a fantastic holiday !
