I came to Playa del Carmen with my sister for a relaxing getaway, and this resort exceeded all of our expectations! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome with their friendly and attentive service. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing stay. The resort itself is beautiful, with top-notch amenities, spotless facilities, and everything you need for a stress-free vacation. There was always something fun to do. Special thanks to Brandon, the entertainment was outstanding and truly five-star quality. Also a special thank you to Ricky our Concierge who made sure we were well taken care of. Whether we wanted to relax by the pool, enjoy great food, or take part in the activities, there was never a dull moment. If you’re looking for the perfect place to unwind while enjoying exceptional service and incredible amenities, I highly recommend this resort. We had an unforgettable vacation and can’t wait to come back!

The best part of this resort was the staff. They were genuinely kind, upbeat, and excellent at their jobs. We loved interacting with the entertainment staff; Mariana, Alexis, and Brandon did a great job with all of the activities and made things fun! The food was very good at all of the restaurants, no complaints there. The pool staff were kind and attentive as well. Ricky and Armando were excellent concierges as well. Again, the staff was excellent here. I took off a star for the rooms because the air was stagnant at times and would have liked them to be cooler (same with the restaurants).. Originally we were in the honeymoon suite, which was nice, but the air was not working and the view was of the garden and a wall to another resort, so it was not what we were looking for in a room. The staff was accommodating and we were able to upgrade and move the following day. We ended up staying in the presidential suite with an ocean and pool view and the room and service was excellent for that room and location. The room was gorgeous and was extremely clean as well. This resort was smaller, but personal. It depends on what you are looking for in a resort. My review is based on our specific room and our interactions with the staff, which were all wonderful. We will miss the staff for sure!

Amazing service! Always getting taken care of and Brandon is amazing with the in house activities! Javier & Jorge are the best with keeping up with you in the pool making sure you’re okay and have enough food and drinks! Make sure to Brings some 1s & 5s they deserve a tip for the amazing service! Will be coming back!! 👏🏼 Restaurants are good food! Service is sensational!

Overall, I had a good stay, but this probably isn’t a resort I’d choose again. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, very well maintained, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and stayed nice and cool throughout our visit. The food was average overall. Nothing was bad, but most of it wasn’t particularly memorable. The standout was Spices, which was by far the best restaurant on the property and definitely worth visiting. Service was mixed. The pool servers were friendly and attentive, but there weren’t enough of them. The bartenders at the main pool could use additional training on drink preparation and customer service, as they often seemed inconvenienced by drink orders. One thing to be aware of is that although this is an adults-only resort, it caters to a quieter, older crowd. The pools close at 8:00 p.m., so evenings felt pretty low-key. If you’re looking for a more lively adults-only atmosphere, this may not be the best fit. Overall, it’s a beautiful, relaxing resort, but based on both my experience and comparisons from friends who have stayed at many all-inclusive resorts in Mexico, I’d rate it as average.

I am currently at this fabulous resort. I have never written a review while still on vacation but really feel the need. Check in was easy and our luggage was taken directly to our rooms We have never experienced concierge service like Ricky, our villa concierge has provided, with a smile. He ensures that everything is great for us, and if not, he’ll take care of it. Fortunately, there hasn’t been much for him to take care of. But knowing that he checks in several times a day is so wonderful. The Royal Hideaway Playacar is truly Heaven! The resort is immaculate, the beach is soft white sand and no rocks in the water. The food is the best I have ever experienced at an all inclusive. The ala carte lunch and dinners are so amazing, with great food, beautiful presentation and top of the line service. The buffet breakfast and lunch take care of our appetites ever so well. I am absolutely blown away by the special treatment I was given at Azia, the Thai restaurant due to my shellfish allergies. I was told exactly what was safe for me and what I could not have. On the second dinner there, our amazing waiter Oscar ensured that the oil was changed before I arrived, to guarantee no allergic reaction and no cross contamination. I cannot thank him and the chef enough for for such incredible and unforgettable service. The pools are so much fun ! The entertainment ladies, Alexa and Marianna have made aqua fit and the games so engaging and enjoyable. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many vacationers join in before. They’re enthusiasm is contagious. The bartenders at every bar are great. Huge thanks to Jose for making such delicious drinks. The fabulous guys who wait on us at the pool in the beach and look after every need for drinks and food are so amazing. Thank you to Jorge and Luis for being there for us Two more days left and we have enjoyed every minute. 🥰 We would return in a heartbeat !
